I bought these glasses for tall drinks. Name seems to fit. However, when they arrived, I found that they are huge! So, we tend to use them as water glasses instead for collins-style drinks.Another reviewer mentioned that the XL size broke easily in the dishwasher. So we've always been careful about placing them in the top rack and have had no breakages thus far. But I can definitely see how they could break as the glass is very thin. In comparison, the Large size Spiegelau holds about 1/3 less fluid, but they actually weigh about 50 grams MORE per glass. So, the glass on the Large is definitely thicker. For me, that's not a big deal, but it may be if your dishwasher likes to eat glass.

These are very nice highball glasses. For decades, Spiegelau's schtick has been good quality, inexpensive, thin-edged, delicate, sophisticated glassware, and these glasses are no exception.Some emphasis should be placed on "delicate". I have a couple dozen various Spiegelau glasses, and have yet to break one, but I still wash mine by hand. I don't trust the dishwasher.These are grown-up glasses: the nice stuff you bring out when company visits. Wait until your kids have moved out to buy these.

I purchased the entire set about 4 years ago at Bloomingdales, and due to wear and tear, I broke about three. So when I decided to look for them I found them on Amazon. I ordered an extra set cause so afraid these would be discontinued. They arrived in great condition and packaging was carefully done. I love them and will be purchasing more. The sets durable, might I add, we are heavy glass wear users :)

Simple and elegant. The rims are fine, not rolled, and the walls are delicate. These are glasses for grown-ups, not chocolate milk for the kids. The glasses were carefully wrapped and arrived in pristine condition. I'm ordering more.
