I was taken back to my youth when I unpacked these glasses,as these are exactly what we used back then.I can recall my Mum filling these with orange juice in the 1950's,although we had to have carrot juice after the War,YUCK!!.We also used these in Grammar school,I can see them now all lined up on the trestle tables in the dining room.Thinking back to those times,my Mum treasured those glasses as unless you had the ration coupons you couldn't buy any more, assuming that our local Grocer had these in stock. This grocer sold everything you could think of,so different from today! He used to stack the glasses in the shop window,in a sort of pyramid shape,it was a wonder to behold as how they didn'tall fall down I will never know.Kids then, loved to window shop as we had so little compared to kids today.Anyway, nostalgia apart, these glasses are truly excellent and very strongly made. Also as one other reviewer stated, they are so comfortable in the hand.So go on,spoil yourself,a truly bargain buy and the nostalgia comes free :)!!

These glasses arrived well packaged in their box, all intact. They are chunkier and thicker than I expected, but the upside is that a year on they are all still intact. They also haven't turned cloudy in the dishwasher yet, hurrah. The rim is slightly flared out so they JUST fit in my dishwasher cup rack, which is pretty standard sized (most annoying when items are too big to fit in the proper section!). The glasses are stable and they are the perfect thirst quenching size for a cold summer drink, where you don't need to decide on more ice/less juice or vice versa. The glasses are stackable, though with quite a large amount of the inner glass sticking up,so make sure you have enough height in your cupboard if you know you'll need to stack. Can't think of anything else useful, so, I recommend these glasses if you don't mind them being quite heavy and chunky.

A good shape for espresso as it flairs slightly at the top which helps catch the coffee below a porta-filter. The glass (at the sidewalls) is around 2-3mm thick which is perfectly fine. I actually discovered these glasses in use at a big coffee shop in London Bridge so if they survive commercial use then they must be sufficiently sturdy for light use at home. At this price point I would consider them good if they lasted 6 months. As an added benefit of being slightly thinner, the specific heat capacity is reduced and so less heat is removed from your coffee which is important for maintaining your intended flavor profile. All in all, these are clearly well made, stylish and more than sufficient for espresso use.Highly recommended.

These are great, sturdy looking glasses. Tumblers. I like that, 'French Bistro', look of them. I wanted a smaller size glass, as l have the larger ones. They bounce well, as l knocked one off my kitchen counter. It bounced, onto my ceramic tiled floor. Phew! Straight back into my hand, almost. That says a lot. They are big enough for most drinks. If you don't want to get your special glasses out. If they do break they shatter into rounded pieces. Not pointed shards of glass. I think that the dishwasher will eventually dull them. They are not overly expensive. So they will serve you well. It puts me in mind of school dinners. Our's were good! They are called 'water glasses' forget that!Open a bottle of wine.

I like the shape, it's very easy to grip and much lighter for it's size than many other tumblers I've used in the past. I presume they can make the glass thinner because it's toughened? They're also very nice to drink from as the lip flares slightly at the top.The glasses stack one inside the other very easily to save room in the cupboard. I find the dishwasher very harsh on all glassware and these glasses seem more durable than most but still show signs of pitting after several months of use.I now have quite a few glasses in different styles and sizes from the Duralex range and rate them as superior to most on the market while still very reasonably priced.

I love these glasses. It's a pleasure drinking from them and this size is just big enough (8.8oz/250ml). I do prefer bigger glasses for myself but with these you can pour just what you need without wasting. They are also an excellent size for young kids who might find big glasses awkward to drink from. I love the fact they r chip resistant and I wont have to buy new ones every couple of months or cut myself whilst I wash them, as cheaper glasses do break as they are washed. They also remind me of my grandma, she had glasses just like this. I am definitely going to buy the 36cl and the 50cl set too :)

I recently had someone over at the flat and was embarrassed to offer them drinks in the motley collection of plastic tumblers, branded pint glasses, and chipped mugs, so I resolved to standardise my drinking options.Things of note:1. The tapered, ridged glass is easy to hold, even when wet.2. My cats have knocked these glasses off the table and counters a couple of times. None have broken yet. They tend to bounce on hardwood floors.3. They stack well, clean well, and any drink looks good in them.I have a feeling that I won't be buying more glasses for a decade, probably.

I was thrilled to get a design icon for such a bargain price. These are beautiful little glasses, tough enough that I'm pretty sure they'll outlive me! They are perfect for a Cortado. They don't hold heat for long but that's not very important when they're this small and the drink won't last long anyway. The castings aren't perfect (if you check under a light there are minor imperfections) but this isn't crystal glassware - these are bombproof icons of French design that you'll have forever, and are stunningly low-cost.Cannot recommend these enough!

Having worked in the hotel business, I must have bought thousands of these over the years. I bought some of these recently for my elderly parents. My mother in particular has trouble gripping things and dropped a number of breakfast juice glasses recently, breaking them all.She finds that with the fluted design and flat sides, these glasses are very easy to grip and more comfortable to hold than traditional glasses and will just bounce off the kitchen floor if dropped ( I've asked her not to test this theory though....!!)

They stack well (very important for space reasons), have a nice traditional shape and fit well in the hand. One arrived very slightly dented on the base, but it was quickly replaced, without any fuss (didn't have to return the broken one). This may have been rough parcel handling, rather than less breakage resistance, these glasses are famous for being sturdy. I think retailer needs to look into that problem, and maybe protect glasses in a different manner. I am planning on buying another six of the same.

I bought a load of these for work because we seem to get through glasses very quickly. We needed something a bit more robust and these are it. We've had them for a few weeks now and not one broken glass, even when my colleague dropped one on the floor it stayed intact with no cracks. They feel good to hold as well, you don't feel that you could break it if you hold one too tightly. I also like the look of them, quite rustic but they work in formal meetings too. Very pleased with them.

Fantastic glasses, they are robust, have a nice feel without being heavy. Very importantly for me, they stack easily without getting stuck, so they don't take much space in the cupboard. I've managed to get the 6 of them in one stack, and it stays nicely vertical without tipping over, although normally I just stack 5 of them. For clumsy hands I probably wouldn't recommend stacking more than 3 or 4.They hold 250ml, which is just under half a pint for you imperial metric fans.

such a classic bistro design... iconic glasses at such a reasonable price.Look fab with a rustic place setting.... much prefer drinking wine out of these than stemmed wine glasses.durable, stackable, feel lovely to hold ( great for people with poor grip, arthritis or toward the end of the evening;)....love them!they did arrive very dirty, with a coating of white powder though... thankfully they weren't a present and they came up gleaming after being in the dishwasher

Duralex glasses are top quality. I now have 3 sets of 6 (in small, medium and large size).Durable and made from toughened glass, these beauties are made to withstand the rigours of family life.As a child, I remember they were used in schools due to their ability to shatter like a car window rather than in to shards. It's kind of nostalgic to see that the numbers are still there - We used to look at the bottom of the glass and see how old we were!

These glasses are very robust, and stack nicely, which was what I needed them to do. However, they were packed very very poorly, and I could hear the glasses bouncing off each other when they arrived. It is amazing they weren't in pieces once opened! The boxes of glasses were sitting on the inside of a bigger box with only a few strips of crumpled brown paper on top of them for cushioning - absolutely hopeless! No bubble wrap or styrofoam at all.
