To avoid confusion, this review is about the SilverStone SST-PS12B. (I think Amazon is merging reviews for several other SilverStone cases). For the money it's a decent case. No sharp edges to cut your hands/arms on, it's nice and compact however that's also its down side.. it is very compact, my micro-atx motherboard (Pegatron AP480C-S) has the ATX-power plug (the fat 24 pin one) right under the harddisks making it awfully hard to access, also I couldn't place the motherboard in the case without first removing the CPU-cooler off the motherboard and removing 4 hard disks from the case.*Dust filtering and cooling.*In the way of airflow this case offers you the room for two fans at the front,an (exclusively) 120mm and 80mm slot and on the back you can find a single 92mm mount that also doubles as a 80mm mount. Included is a single front mounted 120mm Silverstone branded intake fan (model: HA1225L12SA-Z), and to cut to the chase this is the major downside to this entire case. It is a cheap and noisy fan! I'm using this case in combination with an ARCTIC Freezer A11 CPU-cooler which is a low budget range CPU-cooler (along the same lines as this case) and it is far more quiet. If it wasn't for this fan then this case would have gotten a 5-star review as its other flaws can be forgiven for its small footprint and friendly price.I do however have to give silverstone some props for the screws they use, they're very long and go all the way through both screw-holes on the fan and only have threading on the very end which secures them in place. This makes putting in a new fan (the one it comes with is pre-mounted) a much more pleasant experience than when using the usual self-tapping screws or rubber grummets. A possible downside to this however is that slim fans won't fit (although I see little reason why you would want to aside from the unlikely case of owning a spare quiet one already).Temperatures are good as my (admittedly very low-power and equipped with a large CPU-cooler) CPU idles just above room temperature and doesn't go much higher under load.*Cable management*There's a fair bit of space for cable management behind the hard disk cage which is nice, however don't expect dedicated pathways for it, it's a low budget case after all. Get some tie-wraps and you should be able to have the cables in a way where they are mostly out of sight and out of the airflow but don't expect a super tidy build as you may have an unsightly wire running across the motherboard.*Conclusion*Overall I am impressed with the case aside from the fan and how the side panels slide on. The sidepanels can be quite fiddly and have had me wasting more time then I wanted to. The real reason for a 4 rather than 5-star review however is the cheap and noisy fan. Manufacturers pay next to nothing for fans and if they put in a model that's £1-2 more expensive it would have made the overall experience so much better.Dust filtering that's easy to clean on the intake, a relatively low price.*Pros:*Cheap, small, a lot of storage options for a Micro-ATX case, good build quality without sharp edges, all black (painted insides as well).*Cons:*Side panels can be a bit of a pain to put in place, cheap noisy fan, you have to think through your build order as a result of the small footprint. As a final note, think well about you're going to place your components in here or you might have to redo some parts. My advice is to follow these steps:1) Place the motherboard first2) Install the Power Supply and connect all the cables including the SATA-cables (otherwise the HDDs might cover easy access up)3) Insert the RAM into the motherboard (before placing the HDDs as they may overlap the RAM)4) Put the hard disks in place and hook them up with the cabling and sort out your cable management. Keep in mind that tower CPU-coolers will be relatively close to the hard disks so tie the cables to them down tight or possibly even use angled-connectors as to avoid cables from going into the CPU-fan.TIP: If your motherboard only supports USB2 and has no USB3 headers, get something like the "Neuftech USB3.0 19 pin Male to USB 2.0 9 pin Female Motherboard adapter converter". Then you can make use of the case's front ports as USB2.TIP2: If you value a quiet experience, replace the 120mm intake fan with for example the ARCTIC F12 TC. A self-regulating 120mm fan equipped with a temperature sensor that is much more quiet. As for the CPU itself the ARCTIC Freezer A11 for AMD systems, or the ARCTIC Freezer i11 for Intel are very cheap and very quiet and fit with little space to spare. For the power supply any quiet unit will do although something that's a bit on the smaller side and modular might save you some cable management nightmares, I'm using a Cooler Master G450M myself.

This is the best mATX case I have worked with for the following reasons;- Lots of space for hard drives with a very well positioned drive cage to keep the drives cool. I have 3x 3.5" hard drives and a 2.5" SSD installed and the highest temperature they have reached is 29°C with a room temperature of 19°C.- Great case design for air cooling. This is especially case if you use tower coolers that can vent air directly out the back of the case. I am using a Zalman CNP 9900 on an Intel i7-4770K and the highest temperature when stress testing using Prime 95 is 78°C with a room temperature of 19°C. Loading all 8 threads at 100% for an extended amount of time, i.e.1hr+ is a very unusual situation so it can be considered the absolute worst case scenario. In normal usage, my CPU temperatures don’t go above 50°C.- The inverted motherboard placement is great for discrete graphics cards. I am using an nvidia Geforce 670GTX and the highest temperatures it has reached is 50°C during gaming which is brilliant. The two front fans takes air in from the front and pushes it out the back which works very well in taking the hot air away from the graphics cards.- Hard drive cage is perfect placement / height for supporting long graphics cards. It took me a while to work this out. The hard drive cage might seem like it won’t fit if a long graphics card is installed. However, this is not the case. The fit is just tight, in fact the graphics card rests quite nicely on top of the plastic cover on the top of the drive cage. This is great is stopping the card from warping under it’s own weight.- This case is very well designed for keeping cabling neat to optimize air flow. Now for the not so great things, but are by no means a deal breaker;- The space for the ATX power supply is quite restrictive. Don’t think about using an extended length one like a Seasonic 1kW Platinum I was considering. The 190mm length PSU was far too long to be accommodated by this case. In the end I used an Antec Neo HE 550W, which was 150mm and it fitted easily. I won’t go above 160mm.- Noise insulation is average considering it is just sheet steel construction.- You can get insulating foam to improve the noise insulation, but that is just added cost.- Overall quality is very well made as expected of Silverstone.- If you are considering an SLI / Crossfire setup with this case, be aware that if the second PCI-E graphics card slot is at the edge of the motherboard then this case with restrict you to using a single slot cooler. All in all I am very happy with this case.

This is a really good case that is designed with super cooling in mind. For starters the PSU slots in at the top, exhausting out the back, in taking air from the top.The mother board fit in upside down so you CPU is at the bottom, this is the coolest part of the case. There is a very good 18cm fan at the front with room at the back for one 12cm fan( not supplied) or a liquid cooler and this will maintain positive pressure. The 18cm fan has two speed setting, the higher setting is quite audible but due to the way this case cools anyway, it never needs switching to high, it remains on low all the time.I removed the drive cage from my build, but I still had room internally for 2 HDD`s and 1 SSD.One HHD fitted into the 31/2 bay at the bottom, a 2nd HDD I fitted by adding this rack that sits under the optical drive and it is hot swappable.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005LBR4O8/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1I fitted the SSD so that its sits at the front bottom just above the 31/2" drive bay, its held in place using 3M picture hanging strips that work in a similar way to Velcro.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Command-Medium-Picture-Hanging-Strips/dp/B004051TE2/ref=sr_1_cc_3?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1393734768&sr=1-3-catcorr&keywords=picture+hanging+stripsI also fitted a pretty cheap Zalman CNPS5X after market cooler, I spent a little time researching before opting for this cooler and it does a superb job. The fan on this runs at about half the speed of my processor cooler, shifts more air and is quieter.http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006344OMM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The cooler also fits in a way that its fan points to the rear of the case, so its pushing air through the cooler from the front, out the back of the cooler and towards the rear exhaust fan this is perfectly in line, under load the case never rises much more than 27C and the CPU 55C, this is with a 4 GH processor over clocked and running at 4.7 GH.All in I have been very impressed with this case and its design.

I used this case for a small, simple, quiet build to replace my parents' PC (Asus H81M-Plus, G3258, SSD, onboard graphics and audio). It really is a satisfying case to work with. You get the sense that all design decisions have been carefully considered. The reviews I'd seen did not reveal any cons except having to remove the top panel to insert the power supply, and you only need to do that once when you're building your system, so it's no big deal - just a few screws to remove. And anyway, this gives you great access for tidying your cables away. There's a surprising amount of cable management potential in such a small case. The 180mm Air Penetrator runs very silently and the upside-down motherboard installation means you have a nice, straight tunnel for airflow. It all feels very solid and well made. The panelling is a nice thickness and the cabling and switches are of a good quality. The generous rubber feet are reassuringly springy - there'll be no vibrations from this case. It would be an ideal living room PC.If you're installing an SSD, the mounting position is underneath the drive cage and underneath the 3.5" bay (ideal location for a card reader btw). I'd like to have has the option to put the SSD in the drive cage with my HDD so I can have them both cooled by the massive intake fan and use a single SATA power ribbon to piggyback the two. I just need to buy an adaptor bracket for the SSD though - only a couple of quid.Having a removeable motherboard tray was the icing on the cake. It made installing the CPU and large heatsink (a Hyper 212 EVO) much easier, and the fully adjustable support for the heatsink was a great touch. If you install a graphics card, there's even a rubber padded support for that too on top of the drive cage. Nice considerations which will provide strength when moving your case from place to place.I can't really think of any other downsides. Very pleased I bought one of these.

This case is amazing in terms of size and usable space.PSU size - Standard, I'm not sure if it'll fit the extra huge PSUs (unless they are only longer but not wider)GPU - Will fit any modern day GPU. I had a Asus GTX 770 in it and had plenty of spare room left. (Keep in mind that this is for 1 card, if your matx motherboard supports SLI/Xfire, keep in mind that the HDD cage will prevent any card over 8/9" from being installed so only do it if you have small-ish cards for example gtx 760s or the mini version of any card.HDD enclosure: Fits 5/6 HDDs if I remember right, will only accept 1 SSD as that needs to be screwed to the bottom of the case (unless you let anther one freely sit on top of it without being secured). The SSD compartment is about as high as a 3.5" HDD thickness. The only problem is installing big coolers.from my experience:Corsair H80 - bit difficult to install due to having to bend the tubes in a certain way so that they aren't touching the Ram/HDDs.Cooler Master Hyper 412s (Tower one) - Fits but please please take out the HDD cage to fit it, it comes out very easily and will save you so much hassle than trying to connect the power cable using a tweezers or something!Side note: decent cable management options under, over and beside motherboard. There is a little gap at the corner near the motherboard where thin wires can fit through to make it a little neater.

The sides and internals are extremely well thought through, making it quick and easy to pull apart and put back together. The unorthodox positioning of the components makes cabling very tidy, given a little effort. The massive upside with the case is that my components have never been so quiet; the natural flow of air straight up and out (providing a handy flow of hot air on a cold day), keeps everything so well ventilated that the cooler on my GPU (GTX 770) never seems to need to spin up fully.Added to that, it's extremely discrete but also stylish; people often point out the odd-looking black box by my desk.I found a compatible slot-loading drive, but didn't bother in the end as I can't even remember the last time I used a CD on the computer.Negatives are very minor: I've accidentally removed the sides a couple of times while moving it around (they just slide up and off), and I've kicked off the magnetic fan filter more than once.

This case contains a watercooled and overclocked gaming system which it does a great job of housing, however it might be worth shelling out the extra £20 for its more functional brother the TJ08.Silverstone SST TJ08E USB3 0 PC CaseBasically the cases are near identical except for the superior cooling of the TJ08, I have both, and both are watercooled, something that works better on the TJ08 due to its single 140mm intake fan as opposed to the dual 120mm fans of the PS07. Also the door on the PS07 obstructs the airflow, this isn't a problem on the TJ08.Also be aware that due to these cases having the Motherboard tray on the left as you look at the case,it means the Motherboard with be upside down compared to the majority of other cases, so the CPU will be lower than the graphics card. In my view this makes for a cleaner looking case. All in all a great case but look to use the TJ08 if better cooling is required.

I did a lot of research on cases and finally went for this one and i'm glad I did. I chose this for it's size and the two silent fans. Which are silent! The case is very well made and has good space inside considering it as matx case.Bare in mind if you are planning on using the 3.5 drive cage for a 3.5 drive you might want to choose low profile ram as I could not fit one in without it touching the ram. I ended up putting my 3.5 drive in the second top 5.25 bay using the adaptors supplied with the case. I also couldn't fit my 2.5 SSD in the bottom bay in the 2.5 position so ended up having to buy a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor to get it to fit in there. This was due to not being able to fit the power cable through the gaps on the side of the cage.Other than those problems every thing work out great.

As i said on my first review of this item the door panel is flimsy and a bit of a let down from the "Precision" PoV. But everything behind that door is sound for the money. Great cable routing options, loads of space for a big i30 cpu heat sink, couple of large graphics cards. Looking inside i'm not sure while this is billed as a micro ATX case. Don't hold me to it but i'm sure its laid out to take a full size ATX board. Although this might bring issues with it, i'm not sure. The chassis is the same one as higher priced Silverstone models. With just the front panel different. Now i have mine and it's going to last a long time i have no hesitation in saying buy it, but it, buy it!!!P.s.Would be interested to know if i'm correct in saying a full size ATX will fit??

I bought this second hand as I cant afford the new prices. I had seen reviews and it seemed to match my criteria.Good pointsremovable motherboard traytwo large fans providedHard disc cagespace for 2.5 ssd built inPlenty of cable mgmt spaceBuilt-in usb3 (and included usb2 to usb3 adapter)bad pointsSlightly flimsier than I'd likefront fan mesh is a real mess (loose)Instruction booklet is generic for all silverstone cases,Two front fans have separate power leads with no combiner supplied.Overall very pleased with the case as It made assembling the system a real piece of cake.Would like to buy another for my HTPC but that will be stuck in a cupboard somewhere ....Over priced tho ..I could get a cheaper case plus a 64gb ssd for the same money

This was my first venture into the mATX case range, and I am very impressed! The other reviewers have covered most points about this case, so no need for repetition here. My ASRock H77 Pro4-M Motherboard, sits well inside the case, and I might add here that this will not accommodate a full size ATX motherboard. My only slightly gripe, and I have not marked down the chassis for this, is release button in the top left - I found it a real pain, certainly over engineering and serves no purpose but to annoy. I do like the magentised fan grill at the top of the case, that was a nice touch and makes dusting said chassis that much easier! Highlyrecommended if your Pc needs to nice and compact.

Looks stunning, temps are very good. Currently housing x570-i, ryzen 3600 and a 5700xt idling at 40, maxing about 75 under load on both CPU and GPU. Cable management is very good. Case connection cables could do with being a bit longer for cable management but they reach mobo without to much hassle. Quality manufacturers finish, no sharp edges etc. As you can see in the photo, the inverted look suits my setup....also aids the GPU in keeping cool.

Good case for the money. I'm usually one to spend £100 + on a case but needed something cheap to put an older system in. No Complaints with this has everything required and looks better on the desk than it is displayed in picture. USB3 front ports / removable fan grill with Limited options for different fan configurations but all welcome for a budget case. Could easily spend double and get no more value for money.

17.10.2015

brilliant case - and as it was for a micro m/board build you will have probs with wide heat sinks, Noctua NH-U14S ,had to turn mine sideways so a gtx980ti would fit. You cannot use 2nd vga lane with a dual type card!this is not the cases thought - you have to do ' your ' homework! That aluminum is thick and that adds to cost - Lian Li have been my builds over the yrs but the panels are getting thinner and thinner

8.2.2015

Fantastic case! Really well layed out inside. Shows that whoever designed this really thought through how a system would be built here.Lots of great little features, such as the CPU cooler support and reseting the GPU on the end of the HDD cage. (And the great removeable motherboard tray!)Only downside is that the case has lots and lots of screws. None of them thumb screws.
