I have been running my DS380 for 5 years 24/7 and had no issues with it over heating or being noisy. When I purchased it it was the only case that allowed me to create a monster NAS, 8 3.5" HDD swappable RAID drives and 4 2.5" HDD for local PC usage and OS. Its only now that my motherboard has given up and I am replacing that now after good service. I run Windows 10 (I know not the best for a NAS but it suited my needs better than Linux etc.) on a 1TB 2.5" HDD and use the 3 other 2.5" for local PC storage and apps. The installation is fiddly but not hard as long as you follow the steps laid out in the manual. I did have to cut a very small, approx. 1/2", slit on the backplane of the 8 bay housing for my Supermicro Raid card, but that was no issue, in fact if you can make do with 7 drives then there is no need to do the cut. I used an Asrock mini-itx motherboard and Intel CPU both have been fine in this case until this last week when the MoBo died. Cooling was done by Silverstone's Tundra 3 (now a legacy product but I believe still available or updated) water cooler and the radiator fitted to the rear of the case with its extraction fan housing in place. This, I admit, was tight due to the stiffness of the radiator hoses but once in place no problem at all. Additionally the 16GB Ram was 2x8GB LOW Profile XMP units. Power supply was the now unavailable Silverstone SFX 600G which I am replacing with the newer SFX 650G to cope with a new CPU and MoBo.In conclusion I can honestly say I have tested this case for 5 YEARS, tucked away in the corner of my room in a small 3 sided enclosed wood cabinet/table with no extra care taken other than cleaning the external filter meshs once a year, these cover the cases fans and connect magnetically for easy removal/replacement, and it has and still is serving me well. I have still not found a case that can accommodate the number of drives with such a small footprint and at the price this case is.

A heavy duty NAS enclosure to hold a ITX motherboard, Easy to mount Drives either HDD or SSD, total of 8 drives in all. Motherboard choice to accommodate all the drives is challenging. I installed a Min Esata card holding an extra 2 sata connectors but was an expensive addon solution to the motherboard I already owned (as in £30 ish ouch). Better to pay more for the ITX mobo first time around and use the Mini Esata slot for something else (memory/wifi et al). Enclosure is heavy industrial grade safe to have in high risk physical location, well made, with good assembly instructions -if you need them- Comes with all the screws and bolts you could ever wish for.

Great case. A little pricey but you do get what you pay for. Filled her up with 8 x 2TB SSDs. Temperatues are acceptable with SSD's but might creep up quite high when using normal hard drives and even more so when using 7200rpm drives.Quite tight in the case with not a lot of room, so you will need to use a low profile cpu heatsink and a fully modular psu is probably advisable.

Two Internal bays and 6 x 2.5 hot pull bays, make this an excellent high quality case. The hot pull unit has two standard hdd power connectors not sata power, and takes 6 x sata data connections.Air flow is bottom to top, and the large fan in the in the base is noisier than I would like.

Excellent case, perfect for NAS. Dropped one star as the first item sent to me was incomplete, and had to send back the whole case just to get the few missing parts. No issues with the second delivery.
