Like many of you out there I suffer with chronic perennial rhinitis and asthma and have done for years. What I didn't know until recently is that I also have an allergy to dust mites ( you get the picture) Frances (my wife) came across the Silent night air purifier and asked if I thought it might help, After reading other peoples reviews which were generally very positive we decided to buy one and see if it made a difference.Now I do suffer with very bad sinus pains and the pressure around the nose area does become debilitating so I have to be honest I did not really think this machine would work a little sceptical you might say.

I don't really need an air purifier but thought it might be useful to have one in case a guest need better air. First problem, how to choose as there are so many on Amazon with differing reviews. I first chose a round pattern purifier. It had an annoying hum so I returned it. By this time I had noted that replacement filters were expensive and sometimes not yet available. I then chose a "no filter required" purifier but the flow was so poor that it could hardly move a piece of toilet tissue. I returned it. Then with one day to go on my Prime delivery membership I tried again. On paper the Silentnight had a few things going for it. I noted that replacement filters were available and reasonably priced.

This item was a game changer for me. I’ve been working from home for the last three months and because I’m allergic to pet hair, dust and pollen, it’s been terrible. Ive been constantly exposed to these triggers. After a trip to A&e caused by anaphylaxis, I was desperate to improve my health. Aside from tablets I needed something to stop the itching, puffed up, groggy feeling and general misery that allergies bring.I’m so glad I invested in this. After returning an air purifier from another brand, it was noisy and the filtered air smelt of plastic, I decided to go for a brand I trusted. When I first saw the box I was surprised by the size which is small compared to other brands. However, for the size of my room I didn't need a radiator sized purifier. When assembling open the back and remove the plastic bags sealing the filters and also make sure that the filter is facing the correct way; I installed mine incorrectly the first time. Just from the look of the components this purifier is well built and has a quality feel. So on using this I was rewarded for choosing this brand. There are three fan settings. The lowest setting,

I've always had trouble sleeping at night and my partner suffers with asthma so I thought maybe this would somehow have some benefit for us both. No real science behind it but thought I'd give it a go. I turn it on for 4 hours each night, and within a few days my partner noticed an improvement. She didn't need to use her inhaler when going to bed/ waking up as she had ALWAYS done. I noticed an improvement in breathing too and I didn't even think I had an issue with breathing. But I've always had a problem switching off at night and this would keep me awake all night. However, this isn't too loud - it has three settings, one being a quiet mode, and the sound does really help with sleep.

So far I have recommended this to 2 people.I was a bit hesitant to spend more money on a humidifier as I didnt really think it would make a difference, but its changed everything!I have had asthma my whole life but it isnt as bad since I was a teen, I recently put carpets in my house and every morning I woke up congested and sinusy however after 2 nights of sleeping with it on I noticed I had none of the previous sympthoms. Even if I forget to turn it on at night the next morning I'm back to feelimg like I have a sinus infection.I also thinks its extremely quiet even not on sleep mode, I cant speak to the longevity of the product but I've had it almost 8 wks and notice a major difference on

Works perfectly and cleans the air. Just let it on for a few hours and you'll notice how amazing is to breath again. In a week the filter was completely dirty and then I noticed why my nose and eyes were weeping constantly before buying it.The downside is that it's noisy even in the sleep mode but nothing much. If your room is large you might have to set it for the turbo mode in order to clean the air properly.Make sure the noise is coming from the spinning mechanism, the first set Amazon sent me was making an scratching noise. I returned it and they've replaced it with new piece fully functional.The power cord is short,

The purifier does seem to freshen the air and make it slightly easier to breathe, however I think If I had the money I would have gone for a more powerful machine as unless its directly blowing onto me I don't feel much benefit.I have pet allergies and it does seem to help with this as I am now able to allow my cat into my room during the day and then I turn the machine on at night and I can breathe much better.Sleep mode is not great it has incredibly bright lights so I have had to cover those with tape. The noise is bearable but then I am used to a fish tank in my room so If you're not used to some background noise then I don't think this product would be for you.

I was completely blocked for months and using nose drops & inhalers as I am allergic to pet hairs and dust mites. I have the air purifier on timer at night for 4 hours (options are 1,2,4,8 hours for timer or it can be left on constantly) It's not that noisy - I leave it on the normal setting - and sleep fine. As the air is filtered through the purifier you may notice colder air but it's not a problem. Easy to set up and 3 settings - sleep mode (low & quiet output and it says the lights go out. Lights don't affect getting to sleep anyway. Never used this setting) Normal mode and a higher speed mode if you want to get the air cleaned quickly.

This was purchased very fast on a flash deal on mobile It was a wonderfully designed and very quiet air purifier but for me i never noticed it had an ionizer (It could be switched on or off so not a problem to most )but no matter if used in my home or i decided to give it to a family member with four young children and busy lives they probably be working at the buttons and would have no idea it was left on but for a home with no little inquisitive people(thankfully they are ) it was very quiet and well designed and no bright lights .Just not for me( with ionizer) as i thought i might give it as present for one young member with a family chest problem where nice clean air would slightly help

We bought this to go in our bedroom when we noticed that each night our little girl was coughing to the point of choking but it was only in that one room. We had cleaned it thoroughly and have the window open everyday during the day to air it out but nothing worked.This arrived in the afternoon and we put it on the highest setting as soon as we got it and then on the night mode throughout the night and she didn't cough once. AND since it's been in the room my husband has stopped snoring! Something he used to do every night! He has a dust allergy so we are assuming that was what was causing his snoring and probably our daughters coughing. Everyone should have one of these in my opinion.

I live 10 yards from a very main road with continuous traffic. It is now affecting my chest, so I have been searching for a reasonably priced air purifier which is why I purchased the "silentnight" Air Purifier. After a month or so I am convinced that I have experienced an improvement in my breathing and lung capacity. I actually move the purifier from the living room to the bedroom each night and back again the following morning, bit of a pain, so I am looking to purchase a second purifier, which may or may not be the same model; I'm still researching, but other more sophisticated ones can be much more expensive; meanwhile I am very happy with the one I have.

I already own a floor standing air purifier which cost almost 10 x the price of this one. This one is small but a perfect size for my bedroom. I find it quite compared to my much bigger unit. It's very easy to use. I would be able to cope with the noise when on full even when sleeping. It's been on a few hours already and I can tell the difference in air quality. My only real gripe is the short power cord. The selling point for me was the fact is has ionisation. The replacement filter kits are a reasonable price to. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

I've had this on for 3 nights for about 3-4 hours before bed. I suffer really badly with allergies all year round and was really sceptical about how much difference this would actually make but it genuinely has. It's not been the magic cure I was obviously secretly hoping for but I'm sleeping alot better and not waking up feeling horrible. Infact I've just ordered another for the lounge.Only reason I've not given it five stars is, it's noisy, even in sleep mode. No way I could have it on and sleep which was a bit disappointing.

It's pretty loud and ineffective as an immediate air cleaner for example cigarette smoke / smell will take a good few hours to clear, but, left on high all day, coming home from work it was really clean, I've found having it on constantly woth the ioniser function works best, it turns itself off after 24 hours, to be fair this could probably do with an always on switch, no timer and that would allow the user to use a timer plug which would allow more control and to utilise the product better, but for the price... it's decent
