I am very happy with this air purifier, for the reasons mentioned below. I will come back with a review after 6 months, to describe the reliability of the product.Before buying this air purifier I have compared several other ones. I believe that this offers the best quality and that it is also cheaper than other purifiers, when considering the cost of replacement filters and energy consumption.Advantages:- Unlike other products, it has a washable pre-filter, thereby prolonging the life of the HEPA filter.- The HEPA filter has a recommended replacement period of 6 months (I will have to check this claim). Additionally, the purifier covers a room of 80 sqm.This means that the price spent on replacing filters will be much less than for other purifiers. E.g. Filtrete FAP03 covers only 34 sqm and filters need to be replaced every 3 months. This translates in an annual filter cost almost four times lower for the DeLonghi purifier!!!- The AC230 purifier has an on/off button for the ionizer function. I prefer to keep it off, as all ionizers generate ozone which is toxic. The ionizer function cannot be turned off for other purifiers (e.g. Fellowes PlasmaTrue)- It has a carbon filter which can eliminate smells and chemicals.- It has filters which are supposed to destroy bacteria - silver filter, UV light.- At the low fan speed, it is very quiet. You can hear it but the sound is not disturbing. I cannot fall asleep with too much noise or light, but I don't have problems with this purifier.- The air quality light looks nice at night and it can be turned off if it is bothering me.Disadvantages:- My main concern is reliability. I don't know if the company really took the time to fix problems which appear after long use. The English translation has a paragraph in Italian, which looks careless.- Although the air quality light can be turned off, the menu lights cannot. I think that they are quite bright at night. I use a small towel to cover them.- The device is quite large but the design is ok at it is quite easy to move around the house, although you need two hands to grab it.TestsBeing sceptical by nature, I've tried to test how well it works. I've used a match to light a candle near the filter. The smoke went in and nothing came out. However, the smell disappeared only after a few minutes.The six months evaluation will be coming up.

Summer is full of dread in my house hold due to a Mrs who gets hay fever terribly and myself who gets it moderately. We also have two huskies malting so I can imagine that our house has it's fair share of allergens and dust in the air.I was hesitant buying this mostly due to its price however I decided to just go for it in the end.So what's in the box?Well you get the unit itself, a silver filter, a charcoal filter and the all important hepa filter along with a mesh filter to help catch bigger particles before it reaches the hepa filter. It also has a UV filter to help kill off any other bacteria.Does it work?In short yes it does. It has made an improvement to our hay fever,not entirely eliminating it but still an improvement. It has also made the air feel better in the house, whilst this sounds weird it takes the dust out of the air so it will also help those with breathing problems.I recently cleaned the filters after having it for around 4 months and honestly the dust caught in the mesh filter was alarming! This has all been prevented from entering our lungs which can only be a good thing.I would also recommend checking out YouTube as there's some pretty informative reviews in there.Now we are leaving summer I will leave it running on low just to keep filtering our air.This unit features 3 fan speeds which can when set to auto automatically speed up or down depending on the air quality. It also features lights to show you the status of the air around you and it also offers ionisation although I have turned that off. It is loud on top speed so if you were using it over night I would manually set it to low. It also features a 1/2/4/8 hour timer.Overall it is expensive but I felt it was worth it especially when I have seen the amount of dirt/dust it has taken out of the air!!

What a fantastic product this is. Not having any experience with an air purifier Ioniser before I was very very sceptical about the benefits. With having allergies myself and having members of the family with asthma I decided to give it a good try.I cannot go into all the technical details but I can only give my opinion of how I found it. I firstly used it in the living room and in a very short time the air felt fresher. I stopped itching as I tend to do this alot.I left it running for a couple of hours. My grandson stoppeed sneezing! He can sneeze for Britain due to allergies.I next put it in the bedroom and left it on there for a couple of hours at first to clear the dust out of the air and then again used the timer for 2 hours at night time.What a difference. A decent nights sleep for a change without waking up with the feeling of something touching my face which is a regular thing with me. I placed it just inside the bathroom after a shower and the fan went mad. The house smells fresher. I sprayed some air freshener in a room while the air purifier was running and immediately the colour changed to green and the fan went faster. It does the job for me. Time will tell if these benefits last but I am very hopeful with the results so far. The Purifier is very easy to use and clean and I would say an excellent product. It is hard to tell if it does take the static from electrical products and rugs but I have no reason to doubt this because it has gone through rigorous tests by the manufacturer. I would highly recommend it for allergy and asthma sufferers as it removes bacteria, dust and mold from the air.

When this arrived I was initially impressed by the quality of the product. It is quite large but that doesn't make any difference to us.When you first plug the air purifier on it goes through an initial air analysis. After this initial period the light indicators show the air quality. When the lights change to blue it indicates that the air quality is good.I use ths in my daughter's bedroom as she has occasional bad asthma. She also has an air humidifier. With the two units on we have noticed an improvement in her asthma.I am really happy with the product. This is a 5 filtration stage product but thankfully only one of the filters needs replacing from time to time.

As a boy, I would have considered a device which could indicate the severity of my farts, using coloured lights, to be the best thing ever invented. Now, as a 30-year-old man, I consider it merely to be among my favourite home appliance purchases of recent years. My wife, on the other hand, appreciates the effectiveness of the carbon filter. When I'm not farting into it, to see whether it turns the light from blue to green, or even to orange, it also does a good job of reducing smells lingering after cooking (which tended to be a problem as we have an open living/dining/cooking area).

Very good. Bought this product for my dad who has COPD & was struggling to breath. He does smoke and spends most of his day in the one room due to being breathless. Since putting it on for him he is finding it a lot easier to breath and does not cough anywhere near as much. His quality of life has improved ten fold & actually is getting up and about doing jobs round the house like before. The product changes colour when the air quality gets poor, this has helped my dad reduce the amount he smokes as it puts him off. Great product!!

We moved from the US to the UK and decided to rent a barn conversion where we knew we would struggle with air quality. Our kids both have asthma and therefore I was in the market for a heavy duty air purifier. I've gotta say that this purifier hasn't let us down. It's quiet and after leaving it on for a day we noticed a material difference in the air quality.The LED indicators on air quality are suspect, I've moved the purifier around within the house from room to room and can almost time the change in colors.

I have Asthma and other lung issues with allergies. This is the best machine I have ever used. The five levels of filtration clear my room very quickly and effectively. Never had it so good. Runs all night and makes the room very fresh in the morning even with all the heat. Fantastic. Ioniser does not interfere with me at all unlike others who have commented. Would recommend to any allergies suffers or like me with Asthma. Like everything though all things do not suit all people. If in doubt check first.

I have noticed an improvement in my allergy symptoms, although we are getting to the end of the hayfever season. Will have to wait until next Feb to see if it was the air purifier or just the time of year that caused the improvement. It's reasonably quiet but quite bright to have on at night even with the main light turned off. Would I recommend it, if buying it isn't going to cause you financial hardship, and like me you don't have much luck with allergy medication, it's worth a try.

Bought after reading reviews - I'm a hay fever sufferer.Has reduced my symptoms considerably. Use it in the bedroom set on automatic. The LED light feature are a great indicator of air quality. The air in the room feels a lot fresher and the amount of airborne dust has also been reduced -Therefore I'm sure it would be beneficial for those who suffer from other allergies, not just pollen.

Bought for my son's room. He suffers with cold type symptoms when at home but never when at work. We decided to give this a go because the situation was really dragging him down. I'm happy to say that from the first night that this was placed in his room, he completely stopped presenting with these awful symptoms. Happy customer.

Did quite a lot of research before arriving at this product. I didn't want to spend a fortune and for the price this is great value. I wanted something that was quiet, something that had good levels of filtration and where the replacement filters weren't too expensive. Tick, tick and tick. Very glad I bought this unit.

In tests the only thing I am allergic to is household dust, which helps my sinuses to block up. The Delonghi works well, I have placed it near my TV which with static attracts a lot of dust, it's cut the dust down by a lot. Well worth the cost.

Great device, brought because my newborn and myself suffer from hay fever and this has helped a lot. Just plugin and go, the colour changing is really helpful telling you about are quality, when blue and air good fan very quiet.

Great at what it does but be warned mine arrived with a European plug so needed a UK adapter to be able to use.Rather annoyed that it wasn't stated when it was bought.
