Hey thanks for reading my mini review on the sigma 16mm f1.4 lens the I bought from amazon UK via their prime serviceThe lens comes in a simple box with a protective egg type box protecting the lens, it comes with the warranty information and a nice little lens hood and end capThe lens is significantly bigger and heavier than the 30mm f1.4 but don't forget it's a wide angle lens that is very fast and bright so it's going to be quite largeI use this lens on my a6500 and it fits lovely and although a little heavy and large it doesn't feel out of place in the small bodyThe lens has auto focus and supports all focus points and focus methods on the Sony system and the focus is fast and snappy with little noise...Is it as fast and quiet as native lenses.... No... However its very good and find me one native Sony 16mm f1.4 lens at 400 pounds that can compete or compareI use dmf focus... Single shot mode...face focus switched on... Spot metering... Focus peaking switched on... Central focus.... It performs great for the way I shoot and I really can't grumbleThe lens optics are top notch and it renders sharp images across the frame, even wide open at f1.4 it is a solid performer and produces great imagesThe ability to shoot at f1.4 helps keep iso low indoors and when the light gets a little dim which I find very usefulSo you have a well built, high performing lens from a reputable company with a great warranty for 400 poundsIf you use this focal length... 24mm on Sony emount.... 32mm on micro four third systems then this lens is a definite purchase and well worth the asking priceSigma have done some great work recently and they have filled gaps in the emount system that sony didn't care about... I cavy wait to see how their new 60mm f1.4 lens will perform in the near futureIt's a 5 star rating from me... Great lens... Competitive price... Sigma deserve some credit for supporting the emount system that Sony seem to have forgotten aboutIf you have any questions please ask away and please don't forget to click the helpful button below the reviewHave a great day

Full disclosure: This is my first kit replacement lens so my limited experience is why I'm hesitant to give a 5 star review yet. A few things to note - This is a large and heavy lens to pair with a Sony a6X00 series camera. Its something that I really like about it after a while but depending on your needs or even carry equipment, may not be ideal. From what I can tell, this lens performs fantastically well. I've been comparing my results with the kit lens (and though you can definitely get some great pics with the kit lens), the biggest upgrades here for me are sharpness (especially at the corners), BOKEH is superb, autofous is actually really snappy for photography and still good for even lowlight video. If it's in your budget and you're considering this lens,I doubt you'd be disappointed with any real aspect of it provided you are aware of its size and weight. I really wouldn't sweat no OSS at this level of zoom, unless maybe you're a vlogger. I mostly take landscapes and urban landscapes with some portraits now and again. I think this lens is fantastic for this use case.

Recently I was on a coach holiday in Scotland, visiting the West Coast, the Moray Firth, and the Trossachs. I had with me the wide angle Sigma 16mm, f/1.4 lens for the Sony e-mount on my Sony A6300. I found this very useful in taking a photo of Glen Coe, as the sun was rising, the valley floor was still very dark, although the sky was very bright. The photo of Glen Coe won me a third place at a photographic competition. Where this lens really came into it's own was when we stopped at the Dochart Falls, in Killin, at 3pm on a very dark, and wet November day. I was able to shoot wide open at f/1.4, and still obtain some respectable images despite the inclement weather. So while a kit lens can be very good,a "fast" prime lens is always useful to have at hand especially if some locations are many miles away, and you may not have another chance to revisit those locations again. This lens is fantastic for landscape, architecture, and group shots, the image quality is fantastic, the build quality is excellent, the lens is a little heavy, but there’s a lot of glass in there!

I've had this lens for my Canon M50 camera for about 3 months now. I primarily use it for vlog-style videos. At 16mm on the crop sensor body, there is a 1.6 crop factor which equates to a 25mm focal length. Not to severe. I can easily handhold the camera in selfie-style and not fully fill the frame, in fact the subject remains sharp in the frame while the background has a nice blurry bokeh. With the camera in video mode, there's virtually no noise in Autofocus. The F1.4 aperture means i can get good images even in low light, and i can keep the ISO relatively low. It takes a neat image as well, landscapes for sure but also some portraits, as with any wide angled lens, keep the subject nearer the middle of the frame and you will keep the distortion to a minimum. I'm very happy with this lens. Sigmas glass is always very good, I also have a 35mm and 50mm in the Art series. Highly recommended

The first thing you notice about this lens is how sharp image quality is. Colour reproduction is also excellent. I’ve had no issues with manual or auto focus and the build quality it fantastic. It will add bulk to your compact A6xxx camera, but this is a must have prime lens. Perfect for landscapes and semi-macro shots. Also great for street and portrait once you get used to it. Do take into account that this lens does not have built in image stabilisation though, which shouldn’t put you off it, but if you’re using it for video make sure your camera has in-body IS or that you use a gimbal. Click buy now and enjoy the awesome photos this thing takes.

A few months ago, I decided in making my own high-quality webcam by using a high quality Sony Alpha 6000 camera connected to my computer (via Elgato Cam Link 4k that allows connecting an HDMI cable via USB 3)The results were spectacular, but I wanted to achieve the background blur (bokeh) that one can see professional streamers have. After a lot of searching and reading reviews, most recommended the Sigma 16mm and 30mm F1.4 lens for this, and they were not wrong - this lens provides a spetacular bokeh that is perfect for streaming or video calls!

Since purchasing the Sigma F1.4 DC DN EF-M Mount lens its been on either my Canon EOS M50 or my new Canon EOS M6 Mk2 and is always my lens of choice for vlogging. With an amazing quality of image that produces that proffeshional blury background that provides the seperation from the subject that all video vloggers want to achieve. I have featured this lens in many field tests on my YouTube channel 'Roving Chestnut' and I have plans to do many more. If you are after an awsome EF-M mount lens then this is the one to go for.

Everything good you’ve already read about this lens is correct. Having such a wide field of view paired with such a fast aperture is a truly unique and wonderful experience. You can focus on objects so closely that the lens hood is touching it. This, combined with the speed, and therefore shallow depth of field, makes for a really interesting lens.Obviously it’s also amazing for night photography and low light in general. I’ve attached some pics to demonstrate what I’m taking about.

This lens is AMAZING! I'm relatively new to the videography world, and work with a Sony a6000 (best bang for buck for the budget I had). This lens was the first one I purchased after using the kit lens for a few months, and it was an absolute game changer. Beautifully wide, sharp, low light beast and the auto focus works seamlessly. Buy it!!!P. S. Just bought the Sony 18-105mm F4 for some extra range/versatility. ?

I am a newbie to photography and am using this with sony a6400. I did a lot of research before buying this. Could shoot some amazing shots with this lens. Build quality is A++. Its a bit heavy but very comfortable when handling. The focusing wheel is super cool. Great for portraits, cityscapes and street photography. Works well in low light. A must lens to buy along with sony mirrorless class . Highly recommended.

I carried out a lot of research on this lens before purchasing. I need it primarily for video & the shallow depth of field. But I also use it for photographs and it hasn't disappointed.this lens is by no means heavy but perhaps heavier than I expected but this is because the only other lens I have is a Sony 30mm macro lens, which is incredibly light.

pros - this lens is a serious lens- bokeh is amazing- very good build quality- smooth focusing ring- works with auto focus- perfect image everytimecons - auto focusing does have some noise, audible through inbody microphone- quite heavy, but this is obvious due to the build qualityhope this helpsregards@zander_1982

Deployed lens on the Sony a6000 in Turkey on a number of demanding walks inland and at sea along the coast. It performed very well indeed in all situations and being relatively light was easy to carry. Sunsets & sunrises were particularly good as was the detail on ancient carvings etc. A very good buy.

Brilliant lens. It's my go to lens for most situations. It's excellent in low light and very sharp at all apertures. The bokeh is excellent.I use it for family portraits and landscapes and is razor sharp from f3 and above.Would highly recommend.

This lense is ?I pretty much use this as my one and done lense for most of filming currently. :)I would recommend getting an ND filter for it as it will happily overexpose everything if your working outside due to such a good aperture.
