I got these as an alternative to the vacuum bags where you have to zip it and then roll all the air out. (They work, just I find them a bit awkward.)These have four points to compress by, which makes life easier, and they are surprisingly sturdy - I was concerned I might tear them (especially the super light weight ones) but they've stood up to a lot.If you actually fill these to the top they don't compress as much as you might expect from the product images (unless maybe all your clothes are made from micro-fleece) and they end up quite round. So if you're using a few you end up with lots of odd spaces in your bag between them. These are much faster than vacuum bags, but a bit bulkier. So it really depends what your priority is whether you would choose these or vacuum bags.

Excellent compression sack. High recommended. Used it for my north face furnace sleeping bag *picked up the bag from REI*, combined with the compression sack I was able to utilize most space in my luggage and avoid having to check in any baggage like usual. This is essentially for saving room - used this for Everest base camp trek. Takes some getting used to packing the bag into the compression sack but the easiest method is just to squeeze it in without rolling up the sleeping bag. My early morning workout routine was stuffing the sleeping bag into the sack then put it upside down into the case that was provided for my sleeping bag.

I bought a medium bag to stuff a synthetic North Face Thunderhead 3D 20 degree bag into. The bag barely fits, with the bag bulging at the seams, so perhaps a size large would have been better. The compression works great on this bag. It was recommended in an online video to use your body weight to compress the bag first, then pull the straps tight, otherwise, the straps could easily rip. Doing this several times, I was easily able to compress the bag to fit into the sleeping bag compartment on my pack. The material is paper thin, and only time will tell of the longevity and whether it remain intact.

We use this large-size compression sack to hold our MSR Hubba Hubba 2-person tent (body, fly, and footprint) along with a MSR Gear Shed vestibule. This sack compresses down to a convenient size that is much smaller than the stuff sacks included with the tent and vestibule. It is far easier to pack a small lump and a long, thin pole/stake bag than the two larger bags the tent and vestibule came with. The material and straps seems strong and well-sewn and I expect the sack to last quite a while. The material is also smooth making loading and unloading the sack quite easy. Highly recommended!

I bought this medium-sized compression sack for my boyfriend so he could use it on a trip to Europe without lugging too much around. I've since borrowed it from him twice, and really love the product. Though I was initially concerned about the size, I can easily fit a few pairs of rolled-up pants and several shirts to last me on a week's trip, while freeing up significant space in my backpack. I will probably buy a larger compression sack for my sleeping bag now that this one is tested.

I fit a Warbonnet Mamba 3-season down quilt and Yeti 3-season underquilt, plus a Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer in the medium with no problems whatsoever. This is a nice compression sack and worth every penny.

Two medium size compression sacks make my sleeping bag and tent (minus poles) take up 1/2 the space. Now I can fit way to much in my backpack to comfortably carry. Just like I like to do!

I use it for my backpacking sleeping bag. A perfect fit while a needed and appreciated space savor in my backpack. Not sure yet, but it is at least "water resistant" if not "waterproof."
