I persevered with my Rotring Rapidograph pens for about a year for technical drawing until I finally got fed up of the uneven ink flow, the clogging and the general aggravation factor involved in using them. I was spending as much time correcting my drawings as I was actually drawing. I have tried various alternatives and have found these are probably the best. I have cut the time I spend on drawing by a significant margin and my mood at the end of a drawing session is considerably better than with the Rapidographs. The non-refillable version is perhaps less precise in terms of the line width and the ink takes a little longer to dry, but these downsides are, for me at least, more than made up for in the ease of use and the consistent ink flow. The refillable Rapidograph pens will probably be cheaper in the long term but the time-saving for me from using the non-refillable ones outweighs that. I thought I was wimping out but then I met a landscape architect who told me he had given up on the Rapidographs years ago. If you are struggling with Rapidographs these are definitely worth a look.

I'm studying architecture at University and I still have to do technical drawings by hand - even though everyone uses computers these days. As such, I need a set of pens of varying widths. I could use the old-style refillable pens, but I found them quite fiddly, and you never want to spill any of the ink. So I decided to try these pens as an alternative, and they fit the bill perfectly.I can't say that the width of the pens match the specified widths, but they are consistently the same width during use. So, if the 0.1mm pen is actually 0.12mm, then it stays at 0.12mm during the lifetime of the pen. Also these pens never dry up until the end of their use. Finally, these pens never leak all over the place,or dry out - they're always ready for use.True, they're not great for general drawing as they are meant to be used almost vertically but, for technical drawing pens, they're pretty much ideal.I don't know why anyone would use the old style refillable pens when these are so much more convenient.

I love rotring pens. For years I've used the isograph pens, spending ages cleaning and refilling them so that they don't get clogged up, and then I noticed these on Amazon. ROTRING MAKE FINELINERS!! Oh my goodness me, I might need to buy all of them. The ink is as inky black as the rotring ink I put in my isograph, with the same kind of 'satin' sheen to it when dry (rotring users will know what I mean). They are quite 'wet' so I think the lines may be a little thicker than stated on the barrel (just a tiny bit). They don't need cleaning, or refilling. No more pigmented fingers, or ink spots on clothing. No more pen shaking in the hope of getting the ink to flow.No more worrying about damaged nibs because they are so damn expensive to replace. Admittedly a refillable engine is more environmentally friendly than a disposable one, but sometimes it's nice to draw a picture without getting pigment ink all over my hands/clothes/face. And this is the pen to draw that picture with.

These pens are a very nearly worthy replacement for the original mechanical rotrings I used to use years ago for Art A level. I have a huge fond spot for the old pens, the ritual of shaking, wiping, pressing etc and the way they made me feel when drawing with them. The Tikky nearly feels the same but without the fuss of cleaning which was always the nightmare of the old pens. They made cleaning kits, automatic hydro stations, auto shakers - you name it - they had to come out with a gadget to help you keep them going. The finer pen heads didn't last long as they clogged or bent the needle. It has to be said they are not great for children - the nibs are quite soft and bend easily - however theyare so cheap that it's not a problem - I'd rather the kids kept drawing with great rotrings than not at all.

In my opinion, and I'm an illustrator, these are the gold standard in fibre-tip pens. Mainly because they have a good ink-flow, which for my work is important. Just about any others that I have tried and I have tried many, feel like the ink is drying and I'm fighting the paper. Tikky pens flow smoothly and keep up with my drawing. What make these pens a plus is that they are not the usual set of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7. Instead they are a more useful set, start finer finish thicker and double up each time. You need to be careful with the two smaller ones - lend them to almost anyone and the points will come back damaged - I guard mine or lend the 0.5 from the other pack. Brilliantly wonderful.

I used to lust over my dad's refillable Rotring pens when I would sit in his office as a kid. These aren't the same level of mechanical perfection or quality, being disposable fineliners. But they are really nice, well made graphic pens. I have only used them for a little line work so far but they seem to be filled with decent ink and are nice to hold. Worth the money, especially for the nostalgia value, and I'm a pen nerd so glad I've finally got some. I will have to report back on their longevity.

Good value pen set from Rotring. One thing to be aware of though is, in my opinion, the print size is larger than the stated size. I've used Rotring's isograph pens in the past, which are very accurate in terms of line width but I would say, for instance, that 0.1mm in the Tikky is more like 0.25mm in the isograph pens. So beware there not as fine printing as they suggest. Apart from that they seem decent enough. Certainly, the ink is a dense black.

Love these pens, to me this set has just the right variety to line my drawings. It dries fast and wont get erased easily, it doesn't seem to dirty my copics and works well with watercolor. Only "bad" experience i have with them is that they can bleed lightly on some papers but def not all.But still just holding the pens makes me want to draw :)

I see a number of mixed reviews here. The lower marks coming frequently from those who expected the pens to be disposable drawing pens. They aren't. They are disposable fineliners and do that job very well. I find the 0.2 mm pens to be best for general work and the 0.8 mm pens to be too thick for any but the most heavy lining.

Wonderful pens. They last a very long time, the 0.2 is very fine and the 0.8 is nice and chunky so gives a great range for drawing and sketching. I use them for quick sketches at work, not for fine art and they're perfect for that purpose. They are quite strong so not the best with very thin paper but I'm very pleased overall.

I used these years ago in a drawing office and have started drawing again (in the art sense). There are many of these types of pens on the market and to buy the Rotring ones was a good place for me to start. They are good quality and from my past use I know Rotring pens last a long time and are worth the money.

Always loves these pens and they don't disappoint. The ink is a good dark dense black. The nibs flow smoothly across the paper. And the ink flow is totally controllable. Even the finest of the nibs it flows through beautifully.Great for sketching and seriously fine graphical work, they are a must buy.

Ink flows smoothly and evenly as soon as you get them out of the packet. Great for filling in on ink line drawings. The only draw back is that they're not refillable. Will be buying these again when the current set run out of ink. Very happy with this product.

These are excellent for occasional technical drawing as they don't appear to dry out when not used. They are probably not quite as good as the old ink filled Rotring pens but require nil maintenance, e.g. no messy refilling or cleaning them after use.

I am a draughtsman by trade, we used the full ink version in my day before AutoCAD. These are great for doodling drawing, whatever.I used my first rotring as well as all the stencils they used to make for drawing on acetate 35 years ago.
