Having returned the Olympus f1.8 45mm prime lens because of stability issues when used on the Panasonic Lumix GH2, I have no reservations in recommending this lens as a replacement. Olympus have no "Optical Image Stabilisation" unless it's used on an Olympus body! I thought I could overcome this with careful handling, but I had not taken into account that I wanted this for video work primarily. Judder was impossible to eliminate unless the camera was tripod mounted. Stills were ok due to an increased shutter speed but movies were impossible without a tripod. If your main requirement was for still images the lens is great, but when used for "run and gun" work you will have to carry a cumbersome tripod if your using a Lumix.Only alternative is to buy an Olympus camera!I do regret having to return the "Oly" as I wanted a prime lens to go with my Lumix f1.8 20mm prime! C'est la vie.The Lumix is a lovely lens but take care of it as I think rough handling might be detrimental. It does seems a perfect match for what I need, shame about it's speed, although with use I might find it OK. I suppose if you must have a faster lens it will cost you mega money. Buy it if your happy with its magnification if not you can go up to the next one.Highly recommended for results and cost effective.PS. It looks a quality product and have no reason to doubt it's ability to please, and it's a good addition to your equipment as a medium length telephoto. Bare in mind it's focal length is doubled on a M43 system camera. Enjoy!!

The 45-150mm is the logical "next buy" after your kit lens for a M4/3 camera. This takes off where the kit lens reaches - 42mm/45mm and extends up to 150mm. Few of us need more than 300mm full-frame equivalent that this gives with M4/3 cameras. The weight and size advantage of the 45-150mm over the 45-200mm Lumix lens is significant - making it a great choice to fit into a small camera bag. It also shares the 52mm filter thread of the 14-42mm mark II - meaning you need only one size of lens filters. The tests show that rosolution is at optimum even at the widest aperture and is never less than "good" over the whole range. The AF is quick and accurate. The OIS is worth 3 stops for me.The fast F2.8 zoom lens versions have penalties as alternatives [1] they are much bigger and heavier [2] they cost a lot more [3] for 95% of your shots the extra stop of aperture is not worth it. I am certainly impressed. I also have the 35-100mm, which is great if space really is at a premium, but find myself using this 45-150mm more and more in its place. Don't forget to use the lens hoods - mirrorless cameras are prone to internal reflactions without them.

This is a really super-compact lens. So small that those of us used to the older SLR lenses might find it quite a surprise. I certainly did. The fact that you have a 90-300mm equivalent in such a tiny package, with image stabilisation, no less, is truly remarkable. I am using it on the GH4, where it performs extremely well for both stills and 4K video. Flare is minimal and sharpness very good. Not quite in the class of the phenomenal 12-35 Vario 2.8, but certainly adequate for most things. The main benefit is quite simply that where previously, you may not have taken a 90-300 equivalent along, now you can, and you can certainly grab some great shots with it. Build quality is decent, and much better than many 'plastic' lenses you encounter these days. At the price, there is nothing to complain about. An impressive 'utility' lens offering superb value.

I bought a 45-200mm for my Lumix GF3, thinking I would benefit from the extra 50mm (100mm) at the top end - but was disappointed by the weight, which means I'm holding a lens, with a camera on the back! So, I bought this 45-150mm to go on my super-new Lumix GM1, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. This is a cracking lens, it's lightweight, flexible, and perfectly balanced with the GM1. Not that I dislike the standard 12-32mm lens, but may have to get a second body, so I'm not swapping lenses the whole time. Only shortcoming is close-up focusing, but now have 45mm Leica Macro to make up for this. Couldn't be happier with entire kit!

I really like this lens and have used it a lot. The build quality is also good, and gives a lot of confidence. It’s possible to take sharp photos at maximum aperture at all focal lengths. It’s easy to carry. The controls are smoothly engineered. The only small issue I have in use with my GX80 camera is that the dual IS (where the IS systems of the lens and camera work in tandem for extra effect) results in the image shifting unless the camera is held very steady. This means I get a sharp image which doesn’t quite have the same framing as I’ve chosen. With my other cameras that don’t have in-body IS, this doesn’t happen.

An excellent lens for the price. Small and light considering the specifications i.e. 45-150mm zoom (equivalent to 90-300mm for full size SLR camera/lens). Bought for a touring holiday in Sri Lanka and more than justified the purchase.
