I found this guitar by chance. Whilst searching for a nylon string guitar that was a little shorter than standard scale (for my wife's short finger reach) but still of acceptable 'adult guitar' quality for me to play too, I was searching for reviews of the usually-cheaper Ortega sibling the R121 7/8. I noticed that for some odd reason Amazon had one R221 7/8 in stock in black, new, direct from Amazon not a marketplace trader, for £100.20 instead of the usual £210+ price. So cheaper than the R121. Maybe that price was a mistake or maybe Amazon were struggling to shift it due to the only existing review being for a harsh 2 stars. Knowing that Ortega have overwhelmingly positive reviews for many similar models,

I bought the 3/4 r121 Ortega in wine red from the Amazon Warehouse. It said it would have some minor blemishes. I chose this guitar because the nut width is only 45mm and I know that can not play a classical guitar with even a 48mm nut (standard nut size is 52mm) so finding this guitar was a real stroke of luck for me. Well, on inspection I could not visually see anything wrong with it. It is beautiful. However it did have a couple of other problems. The frets felt a bit rough when I slid my hand up and down the neck and the guitar had a slight backbow and the strings buzzed a bit when played. So I got a file and carefully smoothed off the ends of the frets without damaging the finish of the
