I bought this as my previous cheap pedometer had failed. In comparison this is a high quality device from a reputable medical instrument maker that is reliable and accurate. It is highly motivating if you set yourself a daily target and it has encouraged me to walk more. It also picks up my running about the badminton court which my previous pedometer failed to do. I only use it for the number of steps I take in a day. It can do more - distance, aerobic walking - but I don't need these functions. The only annoying feature, for me, is that it re-sets itself to zero at midnight. I often go to bed very late and when I wonder how many steps I've taken that day it's re-set itself to zero.Bit fiddly to set up initially as some of the fonts are tiny. However, once it's set up it is easy to read the counter. Belt clip is awkward to use at first but you'll work out what's best for the clothes and activity you're undertaking. So pleased with it that I have now bought another one for my wife.Read full review...

Omron is a top manufacturer of 'medical' devices'. At first, the instructions looked complicated, but that's only because there appears to be a lot of them - and that's only because they are printed in numerous languages! They were actually quite straight forward. To set the unit up, it's easier if you note down beforehand the info you'll be putting in - ie: 1) your choice of metric or imperial units; 2) your weight (if using imperial units, this must be the total number of pounds, not stones and pounds); 3) your height; 4) your stride length (I made a rough estimate); 4) the current time.Once you are set up, it's very easy to use. It will record sustained walking as 'aerobic'steps (as a opposed to 'wandering round the house' steps), but all are included in your total for the day. You can usefully compare with your readings for the last 7 days. It's always in my pocket!Read full review...

A basic pedometer that does the job nicely. It was easy to set up and I did some counted test steps to check for accuracy - it was spot on! It doesn't automatically reset at the end of the day but its easy enough to do>The clip is pretty good but the unit slides into the clip and after a week or so of daily the wear if knocked the unit can slide out of the clip. I am going to add a glue dot behind the unit to prevent this from happening. All in all I am happy with it for the money I paid.

I've only used it a few times so far, but it seems accurate based on my previous model (lost). The only thing I don't like are the membrane buttons - they're probably safer in terms of accidental button-pushing but I find them fiddly to use. The display turns off to save power after 5 mins, but the unit continues to count steps if you are walking. You can re-activate the display by pressing any button. There is no off button, so I assume it switches itself off completely after no activity.

The device is well made and reasonably priced. Having used it for 2 weeks it appears to be accurate, I've attached it securely to trousers and skirts by the clip provided and also carried it loose in my pocket, The set up instructions aren't great. You are instructed to measure your stride. The default is set at 70 cm. There is only an UP arrow. TIP - If your stride measurement is less than 70 cm take the reading beyond 120 cm and it will revert back to 30 cm and you can take it from there.

This is a neat little device, and conveniently clips onto a belt to avoid taking up pocket space. It's much better quality than most of the free-gift ones, and seems to be quite accurate, particularly if you do an initial comparison with a GPS (or over a known distance) to set your average step length. Usefully it can be set to show distance in miles or in kilometres. One minor disadvantage is that the memory is cleared with each reset, so you can't keep several days results for comparison.

This pedometer is fine for basic information: number of steps, distance, time. This is useless for anyone who needs to keep track of progress, etc., as this would need to be done manually (& written down by the user). Unlike an app or high-end electronic device, this doesn't reset to 0 after midnight or keep a timeline of daily steps, distances, etc.The price reflects the basic features. Its light weight, very good design, etc., does mean that it is easy to carry.

This pedometer is okay as long as you don't want it to do the walking for you. Light and compact and relatively easy to set up. If the measurements you enter are correct then it will tell you how far you have walked. The only downside I can see with this is the bracket you fit to your belt. The pedometer slides about and could easily fall to the ground while you are walking/running or getting in and out of the chair or car if like me you want to wear it all the time.

Does what it says it does! I use it for walking clips on easy and also a little hole to attach by cord if running or doing more vigorous exercise.Easy to set up and can add personal stride length to give more accurate distance.Doesn't start counting until you have been walking for four seconds then catches up.10,000 steps is average daily target, this seems a lot given I work in catering and on feet all day and night and I average about 15,000 steps a day.

There's not a lot to say about this item other than it is ideal for a 'non techno' like me.It appears to be fairly accurate. After just one adjustment it is now just about spot on.....I doubt that it can ever be 100% accurate and will only ever give an approximation of the distance travelled.I don't need to know how many calories I have used etc.so the simplicity of it has won me over and I make sure I have it in my pocket whenever I am out with my dog.

I have always been dubious about pedometers but the reviews and the special offer persuaded me to buy this product.I checked the distance of a walk using the Ordnance Survey website which was 12.6 miles. The pedometers reading was 12.7. I did the same again for another walk, the OS website said 16.6 the pedometer said 16.8.I am not interested in calories used or anything fancy just an accurate measurement of my walks and this pedometer certainly delivers.

This is very simple, easy to use and very reasonably priced. It features steps taken, distance and time; that's enough for me. It works OK in my shirt pocket or clipped to my belt. The belt clip seems secure enough although I did keep checking it hadn't fallen off to begin with! Once I'd set it up I walked along a path that I knew was 0.4 miles long. The Omron displayed that very distance when I checked so I feel confident to say that it's accurate.

As many other reviewers have already said this pedometer comes with very simple instructions for use. Because they were so simple I didn't understand why I couldn't get it to work at first, but I think it was because I wasn't pressing the buttons firmly enough. However, once it was set up I have had no reason to question its accuracy and the fact that you can pop it into your pocket and not have to worry about clipping it to a belt is an added bonus.

I had spent so much time looking online and talking to friends about gadgets, watches, wristbands etc that would help with my fitness. But wearing expensive tech doesn't really get you fitter, moving more does! This pedometer works well, I only want to count the steps I've taken (not worried about how far I walk), and this pedometer counts them! I attach it to the inside of waistbands using the clip, it is secure and doesn't become dislodged easily.

This is definitely accurate - I checked it by counting my steps and checking them against the pedometer to make sure it was registering correctly. The instructions don't make it clear that the pedometer powers down during use (the screen goes blank to save battery power) and this may make people think it's reset itself. By pressing the 'set' button the screen will return. To reset the pedometer to zero you just press and hold down the 'mode' button.
