I love it when it's clear there's been some thought put into how people will actually use a product. I've owned quite a few bluetooth speakers and none are as adaptable and utilitarian as the One Click.First impressions:=============The packaging is simple and attractive. I usually hold onto the boxes of valuable electronic products in case I have to return or store them, so it's always nice when they don't take up too much space. The One Click comes with a micro-usb cable, but no adapter, so you'll have to use one from your phone or even plug it into a laptop/pc, which I expect would take a long time to charge the big battery in this speaker. The cable itself is braided and looks high quality.I'm glad it isn't the newer USB-C standard, since I have a lot more micro-USB adapters lying around, which is important for a device that's going to be used all over the house! Also included are attachments for the lock and handles, which I'll describe in more detail in the 'use' section.Design and build quality:===================I thought maybe the bird motif would be a bit too twee for me, but I find it charming. The speaker manages to look both tough and friendly, which a design language of rounded corners and generous plastic bumpers that seems like a mashup between Appley-Dieter Rams minimalism and a toy intended for hard use by toddlers. That's my kind of bluetooth speaker! It feels very solid - quite a bit heavier than I expected, but not too bad: it's still portable, although my intention of wearing it like an old school rap medallion would probably get uncomfortable quite quickly.NOTE: If you're an idiot like me, you might take a little while to understand how the attachments are actually added to the body of the device. Don't be like me and paw at the outside of the blanks that are included - instead, stretch the bumper and remove it from the body completely so you can pop out the blanks and replace them with the handles or lock. The handle is a thin strap of plastic that allows a little leeway in carrying the speaker. It feels solid enough. However, I prefer using the lock, which is fantastic for hanging it on handles and hooks in the kitchen.Setup:=====I was able to pair my Xperia Z3 compact in a few seconds after switching the One Click on - no hassle. Unfortunately, I don't have two devices so I can't comment on the Bluetooth+ functionality where you can play the same source through two speakers - probably great for parties. Anyway, I have no problems with the usability of the device. If you've ever paired a bluetooth audio product to your phone, computer, or tablet, then this will be a doddle. If not, just read the included instructions and you'll be ready to go.Sound:======It's a room-filler, for sure. Since it's a single speaker, you don't really get much in the way of a sound stage or stereo separation: it isn't really directional in that way. Instead, it's designed to fill a space with your music, and it does this with aplomb. I was impressed by how loud it could get without distorting - definitely good enough to have playing when you're doing the dishes or having an impromptu dinner party in your living room. There's a slight tendency towards bass rather than midrange, which makes sense given the basic use cases for portable speakers. I have listened to Beethoven and Bach on it, but rarely - generally I opt for something harder and more modern, like Carpenter Brut or Justice. It works very well with the slightly compressed audio streams you get on Spotify etc. Again, a completely appropriate design choice.Overall, I'm very impressed by the One Click - it's a really clever product that adds genuine value with its toughness, splashproofing, and handles. I want to carry it around with me and I don't worry about damaging it.

Libratone are onto a winner bluetooth speaker here. It's packaged extremely well. Reminiscent of unboxing a new iphone. This copies the entire experience down to the minimalist user manual. However the boxing isn't the only place it shines. The Unit itself is a lovely fashionable green colour. I'm not a bright colour person, but I would have no issues turning up with this device under my arm. The unit itself is covered front and back in a nice Caribbean green cloth. The outsides are a thick scratch resistant rubber. There is a touch sensitive button on one side of the speaker that you can use for volume control and play/pause. This is supposed to be context sensitive and allow you to skip tracks, fast forward songs etc. But I couldn't figure out how to do this even after updating the firmware. And that the problem, the manual neglects to tell you how to do the simplest of things. Charging for one. I had to sift through 2-3 reviews online to figure out how to charge the thing. And I read the enclosed manuals twice. It's actually a hidden flap next to the power button on the face of the unit. Secondly, I couldn't figure out how to change the handles that are included. You get a lock style handle and a long handle strap. It took 15 minutes to figure out that you can slide the outer rubber enclosure completely off the speaker unit. Again no mention at all in the manual. Doh.So a few initial drawbacks, but how is the sound? Simply put amazing. I've never heard this quality of sound from free standing speaker units. I've heard bad speakers, speakers that sound alright and speakers that I previous to trying this unit, I thought were good. This simply puts them all to shame. Everything is super clear and crisp. Bass is pretty good despite the fact it's the weakest part of the sound, it's still miles ahead of any other free standing blue-tooth speakers I've used. Not to mention the range is excellent. I'm able to be around 8-10 meters away with line of sight and still get a solid connection from my iPhone. I love how the two sided speaker design allows people to get a good sound whichever side of the speaker is facing them. I've found that the best sound is when you're facing the touch sensitive controls, but only when comparing to the back. Under general use, the sound is great from any angle. For the price, it's insane.Battery life is alright. The unit is quite heavy and much bigger than I was expecting, but appreciated given the exceptional sound. I would not hesitate to recommend this. And would love to get another at some point to chain them up for what I can imagine would be an amazing stereo experience. The first time you pair an iOS device, you're asked to install the Libratone software. This isn't really needed unless you want to pair speakers together. You can listen to radio stations within the app, but it basically replicates features you can get from the music app. The app also will notify you to install firmware updates. There's no description of what the update contains, but there's no harm in installing the latest. In all, at the moment, this is the best sound I've heard from a bluetooth speaker. It will seriously impress you if the bluetooth speakers you've been listening to are within the sub £100. Yes the battery life isn't amazing but 12 hours is more than enough for occasional use. And the finicky touch sensitive controls are not deal breakers as much of the time you'll be controlling functions from your phone or connected device.

This slimline speaker is unassuming, you think something that small can't produce a warm sound, nor cope on the louder settings without distortion or crackling, it's just too small. But I was wrong. We've had Bluetooth speakers before from cheapy ones that are slightly tinny but OK for outside the home to an expensive 'sound' blaster that is great if you want BASS but distorts as soon as you get a bit loud thanks to added bass. This is just frankly perfect and you don't NEED two in the same room to get a full sound. The system has what it boasts a 360o surround sound and it's true, I used this recently when decorating the house for Christmas with my family and we moved the speaker a few timesand no one could 100% tell (dad had a panic he'd knocked it over when he went to where he thought it was) as the sound threw around our open plan living space the same from each spot. The sound is rich and full even on 'normal' setting, interestingly it doesn't start distorting as soon as you hit around 70% volume, it stays perfect crystal clea even on 100% which I found brilliant as none of our other speakers can manage that.the unit has an associated app (super easy- download, open whilst connected and set a password) which gives additional choices from easy listening soft mid ranges, live concert with boosted drum and bass to movies settings and clear voice for attaching when watching to programmes and several others slightly tweaked here and there. The battery is impressive. It was playing for 8 hours straight and only dropped 27%, I'm guessing with regular charging that may well drop over time but immediately it's impressive. It charges via micro USB to USB, ok there's no plug included but is it really necessary when very few people nowadays have no USB plug in their home for one device or another, and the person typical to buy this is unlikely to be a tech-phobic person as they would have to have a Bluetooth enabled device to play it!This for us is great as we have too many USB plugs and also our cars like many modern ones have Bluetooth ports meaning it can be charged when taking it out and about whilst driving to save 'going dead' when you have no access to a plug. There is much more potential than simply playing music with this speaker, you can boost the sound on a tablet or laptop when watching streamed movies of to whilst away on holiday, you could use this with a projector, white sheet and a tablet/phone to create your own open air cinema in the summer or purchase a second speaker to connect and play music throughout a home. This speaker is the best we've tried, the sound is perfect, no distortion and it is slimline and has a tiny footprint making it unassuming, portable but is also very useful.I would definitely repurchase from this company and the current circa 20% offer (as of writing) is an absolute bargain for anyone umming and ahhing.

First impressions are good, the speaker design is appealing and it feels solid yet small enough to be truly portable.Set up is straight forward through a bluetooth connection so it should pose no problems to get up and running quickly. It is not a WiFi speaker but it does have Bluetooth +1 which allows you to pair it to another speaker for a stereo sound. The real test of a speaker isn't the software, it isn't the look and it isn't ease of use, it’s all about the sound quality of the product. If a speaker was hard to set up, difficult to operate and ugly as sin and it produced audio perfection, no one would complain. This is 360 degree omni directional portable speaker, the design is such that the speakers inside point upwards and the sound is diffused all round by the plastic top cover. It works really well sit it in the middle of a room and walk round it and you will hear the same quality of sound in any place you stand. It has 2 full range 1.5” drivers and a passive driver under the bonnet. The choice of surface you stand it on can have a surprising effect on the quality of sound. On some surfaces you may find that it vibrates, moves and rattles a little which is down to the passive driver in the base.Battery life is reasonable, I managed nine hours of play on the first charge I expect that it might get closer to the promised 12 hours with a little more use and full charging. I am disappointed that it does not come with its own charger, you will have to rely on a micro usb lead to plug it into something. My question is how much would a charger add to the cost of the product? It would be a fairly negligible cost to ship with a charger wouldn't it?Sound quality is down to personal perception, after all no two ears are the same or register the same sounds. The quality of sound for one person will be very different to another.I find the treble and mid ranges are clear and sharp but it lacks any significant bass, though this can be boosted depending on the surface you put it on. That’s not to say the bass is not good, I think it is sufficient but those of you who prefer a much heavier deeper sound or listen to music that benefits from heavy bass might be disappointed. The quality of sound also tends not to distort at higher levels or at maximum settings but this might come down to the limit on the volume. Its certainly not the loudest portable speaker I have come across. So in conclusion, as a portable speaker it is pretty good, firstly because it is properly portable and secondly because it has good overall audio quality, it is also omni directional which I consider a true plus point. For the quality of construction and audio quality the price it retails at is reasonable in comparison with it’s peer group. However I would also expect a proper charger to be provided and the omission of one is unacceptable, penny pinching and mean.

I'm not usually one for Bluetooth speakers, mainly due to quality and battery life in cheaper units. However, I was persuaded to give the Libratone One Style a go and was pleasantly surprised.First and foremost, I should probably mention the size of the speaker. Initially I thought it was going to be massive judging by the box that it came in and the slight weight to it. Once I had removed all the packaging it appeared to be around the size of a decent book, although slightly weightier. As I've used it more and more the size is less of an issue and actually seems in line with the size of other portable radios and such. The speaker itself stands up with the sound coming out of both sides, this can be an issue if the speaker falls over or if you place it down flat on a surface. If you plan on using this outdoors then you'll need to find some even ground to stand it on otherwise it will likely fall over thereby affecting the sound output. Standing it on a table or other surface in the house is fine and you can hear the sound from both sides of the speaker equally as well.It also features a carry handle which is more of a loop that you can fit one or two fingers through to carry it from place to place. That's about all it's good for so you won't be able to loop it round anything or fit your entire hand through for a better grip. The loop is attached to the speaker so you can't remove it, nor is it likely to fall off when being carried. As for sound quality, it's pretty good. I've used numerous speakers over the years, whether it be Bluetooth, AirPlay or simply speakers that you can dock your iPhone with and most have not been up to scratch. I currently use a Sonos speaker and sound on that is great, by comparison the One Style is probably about 75% of the way there. The sound is clear and audible and even turning the volume up doesn't distort the sound as can happen with cheaper units. There isn't too much bass which is a good thing in my view, too many of these speakers are over bassy and it just doesn't suit the type of music that I listen to.The manufacturer claims that it has a 12 hour battery life and I've gotten around 10-11 hours of it, I guess it depends on the volume you play at and a variety of other factors, but it seems pretty good. Anything 10 hours and over is decent in my book as I'm only going to be listening to music for a couple of hours at a time and it lasts me a few days between charges.Impressive overall for its size, especially if you need a decent portable speaker. I generally listen to these things at home so have less of a need for portability but everyone's different. This also has the benefit of being splash proof which can come in handy during the summer months if you're by the pool or for if it rains when you're outdoors.

Having had the speaker that I used with my phone/iPod ‘borrowed’ by my son when he went back to Uni this year, I was delighted to have the opportunity to test this. There are three different styles of Libratone speakers – One Click, One Style and TOO. The one I received was One Style, in cloudy grey, which is about the size of a clutch handbag, or radio. In design, this looks sleek and modern. Unlike the One Click, which enables you to change the handle, the One Style has a fixed handle. This is really a finger loop and you can only put it through the strap of a bag if you can undo the strap to link it through - obviously you can also hang it on a hook. The whole idea of this is that you can use it outside (it is splash proof,so ideal for by the beach or pool on holiday) and you can link up other speakers to get a sound system throughout your house, if you so wish. Most of these kind of speakers are cylindrical in shape, whereas this is more book shaped. The problem with this is that the base is not very wide, making it unsteady if you are out for a picnic and want to put it on the ground – although it is stable on a flat surface. It would be nice to put this flat, but obviously, if you do so, you are covering half of the speaker. Once you have downloaded the app you can play around with the sound – my son has said he would prefer more bass, but it sounds fine for me. I do have slight hearing loss and so struggle to listen to audiobooks if sound is fuzzy – this was very clear. If you are unable to link your device via Bluetooth (I could link my phone, but not my older, iPod) you can use a simple Aux cable to plug it in at the back and so still use the speaker that way. The back has a simple strip which includes the on/off button and, if you pull one side back, you can plug in the charger, or a cable. The circle on the front allows you to change the volume, by just running a finger over it to increase or decrease volume. In terms of quality, this is probably mid-range. It has good battery life (12 hours) and you can link this to up to two smart devices at once. A 3.5mm jack is included to charge this. You can also answer calls on this and use this as a speakerphone. My only real concern with this is that the handle is not ideal – if you want to loop this over your bike handle, or attach it to your backpack, you might be better off with the One Click. Likewise, the base is not really wide enough to stand on any bumpy or uneven ground. I will be using this at home, so it is fine for that. It looks great, the sound is clear and the design is nice. As it is designed to be portable though, just be aware that it is has some slight problems in terms of the design/handle outside.

Bluetooth speakers are ten-a-penny these days, ranging from ones that cost a few pounds, to ones that are pretty expensive. In our house we use Sonos speakers (which connect via wifi, not Bluetooth), but we've wanted a decent Bluetooth speaker to use when staying away. We'd seen Libratone speakers in John Lewis and thought they looked (and sounded) good, so we've given the Libtratone One Style speaker a go.Libtratone is a Scandinavian company, and, as one might expect from a speaker from that part of the world the One Style looks quite minimalistic and chic. It's light grey, and comes with almost no visible sockets or buttons, just a rigid plastic hook on one corner that seems to flow out of the speaker's surround. It's about 8" by 4" by 1.5" deep and, unusually, both sides (front and back) act as a speaker. This means that it is designed to be used when upright or hanging from the loop; if it's laid down, you'll lose much of the sound. There is a single power button that you use to turn the speaker on and off; there's also a round button that you use to initiate pairing on your device, and to control volume. If you run your finger around the button, this activates little LEDs round the button, and you then run your finger round it again to turn the volume up or down. I've so far used the speaker from my iPhone 6s, and I've downloaded the Libratone app to control the speaker. Again, the app seems simple and bug-free, unlike at least one other speaker app I've used previously.Aesthetically the speaker is very pleasing, but what is even more pleasing is the sound. It's surprisingly powerful, has plenty of bass, is very clear, and doesn't distort at high volume. Whilst I don't think it's quite as good as my Sonos speakers, it's certainly very good indeed -- probably the best Bluetooth speaker I've heard. This is a really impressive speaker. It gives far more well-known brands a really good run for their money; it looks good, is easy to use, is aesthetically pleasing, and sounds good. Oh, and it's also splashproof (although the mini-USB socket by which it's charged, and a 3.5mm in jack are both just protected by a little rubber cover, so you wouldn't want to actually immerse it in water). It also supports ApplePlay over wifi. Definitely recommended.

I have the Zipp Mini from Libratone so I'll try not to compare it with this speaker as they are two different products. At £139, the One is quite expensive for what is essentially a Bluetooth speaker. The presentation is brilliant. Strong solid box with USB charging cable, a strap, strap plugs and a hook which detaches at one side so it can be fixed onto say a bar or chair etc. It is easy to detach the covers and edge protection so you can fit all the accessories. There's a quick start guide as well. The unit itself resembles the look of a book. The rear of the unit has a power switch and behind the rubber flap the USB charging port and headphone socket (3.5mm).. On the front is a small touch sensitive panel. This acts as the volume control, mute and Bluetooth pairing function.Connection is simple. Bluetooth pairing comes in when auto activated so with the Libratone app connecting it is simple. The app also a great feature telling you how on how many hours you will have to recharge the speaker. In action, the One has quite a full sound - fuller than expected for a speaker its size. There is plenty of mid range and low end. Treble is good without being overly toppy. The One lasts about 9 hours. That's about average for a Bluetooth speaker. The speaker is apparently splash proof but the cloth doesn't reassure me that this is the case. The One can also act as a speakerphone and it sounds very good in that capacity. The One has got the ability to link with other speakers in the Libratone range. Unfortunately I could not get it to communicate with the Zipp Mini despite numerous attempts. I suspect this is either an app issue or firmware issue. On the whole, the One is a very good Bluetooth speaker. It's pretty loud and can fill up an average sized family room. For a study, it's great as it's small and unobtrusive. Price wise, well this is where there is a lot of competition. Some speakers I've come across are water resistant at this price and are built to a sturdier standard. This is more of a lifestyle speaker with sound quality than a take it anywhere speaker. I would recommend that you give the One a listen first just to ensure its what you're after. You may want to take a look at the Zipp Mini which currently sells for £149 on the Libratone web site.

I really like this item and in terms of quality of sound, portability and ease of set up, this is a FIVE STAR ITEM, however, compared to some of the competition, even allowing for the build quality and sound rendition, it could be a little more affordable. (£109.00 as at 17th October 2016)I received the TOO variant in grey and it now sits on my bedside table. I generally use it for linking into my Blackberry passport via Bluetooth (so easy to set up) my new Kindle Fire 8" or my ageing ipad 2; there is a Libratone app for both Android and Apple appliances and I have tested both and they are easy to set up and use.Sound is the key element to consider I suppose and in this case,I found the sound rendition to be very good and well up to the standard of a similar product we have purchased from TEVECO, which is not as well made but is over £60.00 cheaper. There is no question that the Libratone is a better made item, but sound quality is very similar. What the Libratone has in its favour is that you can actually link two items together, therefore you can have the playing back the same sounds in more than one room; whether that would be useful for most people I am not sure, particularly as this is a portable item.Part of the reason that I have deducted a star is that the TOO comes without a charger; it does have a cable with a micro USB cable and the instructions state that a "good" 5v USB charger is required to charge the item. Whilst I don't need yet another charger, I have numerous chargers which have an output of circa 5v, but they all have a different output. I have opted to use the charger which came with my Kindle and this charges the item fine. I have used the item for a whole day and then recharged it, therefore I assume that 12 hours usage from a full charge is achievable. I re-charge the item overnight and it is fully recharged by the morning. It is portable, although I am sufficiently conservative to not want to play my music outdoors, although my wife has used it in her aromatherapy practice and had no problem setting it up to connect to her Windows phone and whilst she found it heavier than her TEVECO unit, I fear that she may try to keep it.Great 5 STAR item if the price drops..

This latest Bluetooth speaker from the Scandinavian maker Libratone is certainly stylish, although the sample I received in Caribbean Green would not be my first choice of colour. It comes beautifully presented in a rounded box which reflects the contours of the product itself. It was fairly easy to set up, apart from the second phone I tried it on took several goes for no apparent reason. It is modular in approach in that different handles can be attached to the rubber / metal frame. The click has more options than the style in that respect. The sound compared to my Bose mini (which costs about 10 quid more) was disappointing. Rather flat and lacking in bottom end when playing rock music. It also needs to be stood on its end to get the best out of the 360 sound projection. That makes it’s a bit unstable unless it is hanging, which I think is a weakness. However it seems stable enough even when played at high volume – no discernible movement, so full marks on that front – and it hasn’t fallen over yet. Battery life at 12 hours at medium volume is OK but average for products in this range. At higher volume it will give 8 hours, which is sufficient in normal use. It is splash proof, but not waterproof. The material looks to me like it could get dirty in use, but I would say that this would score over the Bose if you are intending to use for getting out and about with it.I really liked the Libratone app which supports this speaker (although it does make you wish that this had wifi as well as Bluetooth). For one it is well designed and functional. You can pair to another Libratone speaker, set different sound profiles and the internet radio is well presented. You can store your favourites. It also made me realise that this excels as a small internet radio (via your phone) especially for speech radio.Overall I like this speaker. It is very stylish and well put together. You can see what you are getting for your money. It sounds good but not as good as some other speakers in the same price range. The app is the saving grace and well worth getting even if you are not going to pair it up with another speaker.

Ever since a friend of mine turned up on a group holiday with a bluetooth splash-proof speaker, I have been on the lookout for something portable that also gives a lot of volume. The Libratone One is perfect for this: it's small and light enough to pack in a suitcase or in a bag for a day at the park, but big enough to fit a 3" woofer and 1" tweeter.Set up was incredibly easy; my partner and I were able to connect our phones at the same time really quickly with the touch of a Bluetooth button. You can also set up the Libratone as a trusted device, keeping your phone unlocked whenever it is connected to the speaker, perfect for easy access to podcasts and music players. The Libratone app is free to install on Apple and Android devices and adds extra features, but isn't essential. With the app you can vary the type of sound, so adjusting the soundscape for spoken word, classical music, pop and so on. You can also connect two speakers together via the app, but one speaker is good enough for me, as the sound it gives is perfect for use at home or in the garden. Podcasts come through clearly and music sounds vibrant and clear. There is a setting on the app to deal with music that is heavily compressed (so, in lower-quality mp3s for example). The design of the speaker itself is very clean, with minimal detailing and hidden connections for a small analogue jack and for the USB port for charging. The speaker comes with a USB cable but no plug at the end, so you would need to have a plug with a USB socket to charge, or otherwise charge through a computer. The speaker I have is "cloudy grey": the actual colour is a pleasant inoffensive grey that will suit most decors! My one reservation is that I wish I could connect the speaker through my WiFi at home and have connectivity over WiFi with other devices; other devices across the range offer that functionality - notably the gorgeous-looking Libratone Zipp Wireless Speaker - Cloudy Grey - so if WiFi connectivity is essential, I would suggest that as an alternative. But, overall, I am very pleased with the power of the sound and the ease of use.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this Libratone One speaker as I have never heard of the company. But, I have wanted a speaker for my kitchen for a while and one that was portable to let me take out on family picnics etc. Whilst the weather has turned and the family days out will have to wait until next spring when the weather improves, this portable speaker was rather tempting so I gave it a go.I am not overly impressed with the colour but it isn't so awful as to put me off. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all and in the end I was more interested in its audio performance. Out of the nicely designed box I switched on the unit and within 1 minute my iPod had found and paired with it.Suddenly it was producing music. I had the free app downloaded shortly after too, but was already listening to music at this point. I was taken aback by its performance. The bass is rich and deep and the units volume control (swipe with your finger to the right to increase volume, to the left to turn it down) was soon in use to see if I could sense any distortion. None were noticeable. I have a Bose Soundtouch 30 which is outstanding but much more expensive, so it is unfair to compare I suppose. But the 'One' does a fine job in its own right, producing excellent sound with a variety of music types. Audiobooks were also delivered with excellent depth. The ease of connection, the portable nature of the unit and its very impressive audio performance were a real surprise to me. At the price I have to say its excellent. You can take this from room to room or to a friends house and have excellent audio quality without any hassle whatsoever. You also get options in terms of straps to attach to the speaker to carry it round as you wish. Again, a nice touch as it offers the user to choose the best method for them, rather than the unit come pre-fitted. I am bowled over in many ways given the quality of the sound from a £140 speaker. Yes, it is still a lot of money, but this speaker really is impressive. I recommend it without hesitation. On a side note, I like the bird logo too!!

I am extremely impressed with this speaker and so is my Husband who took it away to 'test' it for me when it arrived and has so far made it a little difficult to get a look in with the speaker as he has been busy carrying this around the house with him and testing out different music and speaker sounds on it for the last week. We have so far used it as a speaker for just general music from both phones and tablets which it handles perfectly with a decent sound and bass coming from the speaker. We have also watched movies on this via a linked tablet and again the sound quality has been fine although I must admit I am no audiophile. We have the One Style speaker and there also seems to be another two different speaker types on the same product page (One Click and TOO)and so if you are reading through reviews it is best checking at the top of each review for the small writing that confirms which style the review is about. The One Style comes with a fixed rubber handle that is big enough for fitting your hand through for carrying. The handle is not adjustable or removable and so it cannot be hooked onto anything like the One Click style seems to have but for our purposes this is not an issue. The speaker is double sided which I was surprised about at first as other speakers we have had in the past have tended to be one sided but this does seem to spread the sound around better. The speaker is a lovely neutral grey colour and I was slightly worried when it first arrived as it seemed to suggest on the outer box that it had been designed specifically for use with a iPhone or iPad which we do not use in our home. I can confirm that the speaker is Bluetooth and so does work with Bluetooth enabled devices and we have now tried it with 6 different Bluetooth devices at home to check.A beautifully styled speaker with two-sided sound and the sound quality is perfectly fine for general use. My only slight niggle would be that as it is a light colour I can see it possibly attracting dirt and dust over time.

I have used this speaker for a number of weeks now (I own the Cloudy Grey One Style option), and I really do love it. I like the design a lot. The rubber has a lovely soft feel to it, and the fabric seems very durable. Overall, it feels like a very high quality item. Also, it has a good weight, without being too heavy. The sound quality is excellent (I also really like the 360 degrees reflector meaning the sound comes from both sides of the speaker!). I haven't downloaded the Libratone App yet (however, I will, as I want to keep the firmware updated), so I am literally plugging it into my phone and playing music at the moment, with no fiddling with the sound. It’s very easy to connect to devices via Bluetooth (I use it with my Samsung Galaxy phone), but if you don't have Bluetooth enabled devices, you can also connect it via an AUX cable. I do think the sound quality is very slightly better if you connect the speaker to your device via an AUX cable rather than using Bluetooth, but I believe this to be the case with any Bluetooth speaker (I use the Anker 3.5mm Premium Auxiliary Audio Cable (4ft / 1.2m) AUX Cable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00R16XQDE ).In my experience, it seems to hold its charge very well if not in use. It has a built-in rechargeable battery and according to Libratone, it gives up to 12 hours of playback from a single charge (it takes up to 3 hours to charge it fully). It doesn't include a charger plug, but my box included a micro USB to USB cable (I am currently using this cable to attach the speaker to my laptop to charge). So all I would need is a standard 5 volts USB powder adapter plug to charge it independently. My speaker didn’t come with a particularly comprehensive manual, however, all the info or help you need readily available from the Libratone website.

I have the graphite grey Libratone TOO, and very impressive it is too. I’ve tried it with an iPhone and an Android phone, and connection to each was easy, with no subsequent problems such as dropped signal. The speaker looks great, having a very nice design and colour. About the size of a large pencil case, it easily fits on any book shelf, though would be too big and heavy to carry around in most pockets. It feels well made, and the rubber handle and port cover looks strong. You can control the volume from your phone, although the touch sensitive volume control on the speaker is too tempting not to play with. The speaker comes in a very stylish oval box, which includes a high-class USB charge cable. This instructions are minimal, but sufficient and very clear. Frankly, the speaker is sufficiently intuitive and simple to use without them. The sound of the speaker is very impressive. Obviously it’s not as good as a full HiFi system, but the mono sound is rich and clear, has a satisfying tonal balance, and fills the room well. The speaker is free from distortion, even at high volumes. I’ve tested the speaker with classical, jazz, BBC Radio 4, and my wife’s noisy heavy metal stuff, and the speaker does a good job with all. There is a Libratone app that you can install. However, it currently gets a lot of poor reviews on Google Play Store, so I have't installed it. Frankly, I can connect my phone, control volume and play radio, music files and phone calls perfectly without it, so I couldn't see any benefit to installing it.A few months ago I tried a larger and pricier Panasonic wireless speaker system, which didn’t impress me in the way this Libratone speaker does.Jan 2018Just thought I'd update the review to say that this speaker is still working well and I'm still impressed with it.
