My mother decided to buy 'My Monopoly' as a Christmas present for me this year, and the creation of the my customised version (An Optometry Edition - Yes I am a massive Geek!) literally took up most of my Christmas and Boxing Days. The box contained the standard contents of a Monopoly box, board, chance/community chest cards, money, die & player counters, and the board came with the traditional property names included (Old Kent Road, Mayfair etc - I have the UK version). For some reason there are only 4 player counters included. Also included were pieces which you place at each property (they slide into a little slot), and 5 pieces of paper with labels/stickers ready to print and stick on these pieces to customise your board.Hasbro recommend you use an App downloadable onto Android or via iTunes to upload photos or a specific URL to design your new properties ready to print on the provided paper.Unfortunately both the app and the URL are absolutely awful and completely infuriating to use. I would probably still be there now doing it a few weeks later as images would disappear all the time as would the text.To get around this, I designed the counters using Powerpoint. I simply measured the dimensions of the labels on the paper and created a template to work on. This took me probably about half hour, but once I had it I was ready to go. For those less IT savvy or less patient, using self adhesive paper will do the trick.Once I completed printing the labels and sticking them onto the pieces, I was left with all the purchasable properties (save the utilities and train stations) customised. Personally I went a bit further and decided to customise the utilities, trains stations, jail, free parking, supertax and income tax as well to finish off. To do this I used normal self adhesive paper and cut to size. This isn't required, but I found that I wanted to customise more than was permitted.Overall I enjoyed the product and am still making amendments now (I am now working on rewriting the chance cards and community chest and am looking to replace the counters with something more thematically appropriate). I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys monopoly and is a bit creative. To be honest a lot of the fun me and my parents had playing it was from the customised content.I have attached some photos of my work. It is very specific to what I wanted to make, but I believe this demonstrates that you can turn the board into whatever you want.Worst case scenario you can just use the original street names underneath and play a regular game, but where is the fun in that!!

Monopoly is one of those classic games that everybody knows (and probably) loves, so there are two things to review here. One is the game itself, which is obviously worth five stars without thinking about it. The second thing to review is the fact that whilst this is Monopoly, it's more than that - it's My Monopoly, which means it can be personalised. We have several versions of the game (the 'classic' Monopoly, Yorkshire Monopoly, Simpsons Monopoly). With My Monopoly, you can basically adapt the game by personalising the properties and cards that you get to use during the game. There are printed names on these already, so you can play as is; however, the fun is sitting down to work out how you are going to personalise your Monopoly. To do this, there is an app that lets you take photos, and then print out onto sticker sheets that are provided with the game. You can also add text to these. Your photos and text are uploaded onto a website, you use the site to design a sticker sheet that contains your layouts, and then you print these. The stickers are nothing special, being similar to normal sticky address labels that you can buy from any stationery shop, but they are sized as required. This applies a certain amount of pressure to the process, as if you get it wrong (we did pre-prints onto plain paper, for instance, to ensure that we loaded the sheets the correct way up), then there's no way back.We had an enjoyable couple of hours making up text and finding photos to include, and then sat down to play our game. The children enjoyed the process, and although it is a bit fiddly to get the stickers ready, print them out and to then stick them on, I think it was worth it. Because it is a fiddly process, I've given this four stars rather than five, but we did enjoy it, and we're looking forward to showing off our design skills at Christmas when we can play the game with other relatives. Good fun, and recommended.

There is little to be gained from a review of the property game ‘Monopoly’ as this game is the same as the well known original. The raison d’être for ‘My Monopoly’ is to enable a family to customize their game by printing stickers to add to the board, produce property deeds, create ‘chance’ and ‘community chest’ cards etc. Initially this may be seen as a daunting task, but the board comes with street names etc. already printed and it may be used to play the game before all personal stickers are complete. There is scope to make ‘My Monopoly’ truly unique with family photographs and individualized text, and there are sufficient stickers to allow variations. Creating one’s own version will undoubtedly provide hours of entertainment, and with sheets of stickers the printing should be straightforward for most computer users familiar with address labels, and the result can look quite professional. Note that after first registering on line by a parent it is necessary to download an ‘app’ for printing - maybe kids are better at this than parents. There is plenty of family fun but it may take some time in preparation before the serious property speculation and development can begin. For both aficionados of the classic ‘Monopoly’ and newcomers seeking something exclusively idiosyncratic this ‘My Monopoly’ is a 5-star product.

Love this game and looking forward to playing it at Christmas with the family! All the usual monopoly bits and bobs with the added ability to really personalise many elements of the game from Chance, Community chest, Property cards and playing pieces. Comes complete with labelled paper to fit on to the cards and blank squares which you can add to the board. The major issue with this version is the fact that hasbro does not have the app anymore to transfer pictures and print to the labels at home. Major flaw in the system especially as it appears people are still buying the game and at a premium cost. However, I did find a way by setting up the template myself and it works! If you go into tools on a word document,go to the labels setting as I have shown you in the image above, you can click and drag / copy and paste your pictures across. You can also add text and a border as wellOn each sheet you can fit 30 pictures, click print and there you have it! Remember to save it.Lots of fun thinking which pictures to put in. The great thing is you can peel off the labels so do again for another event such as birthdays, weddings, stag do's, hen do's.This could have been a bit of a white elephant, but hopefully with a bit of perseverance, you can access the game once again! Good luck!

Our girls (Age 8 and 7) love Monopoly and have played our old 1980s version with us for a few years. They are very familiar with the rules and format so found this very easy to play but with the added fun of personalising the player pieces, Chance, Community Chest and Properties.......we left them with the iPad and App to organise the photos, printing and label sticking which they managed very easily. They had great fun selecting pictures and adding funny comments....many of which were holiday pictures and memories. It's also good that there are plenties of sticker sheets and cardboard tiles to update the game and pictures later.Unlike our old Monopoly there were only 4 player characters....sowhen we want more players we'll have to borrow some old characters from the other box or play in partners.A good modern spin on a family favourite which has the added bonus of another way to enjoy family photos and memories for years to come.

Great idea, though the stickers didn't line up exactly with my (modern) printer, despite me following the instructions to the letter. In fact, the instructions tell you to turn 'shrink to fit' off, but, depending on your printer, this may not be good advice. The quality of the sticker was the biggest let-down - expected shiny paper to match the quality of the rest of the game, but was bog standard address label quality giving a dull and disappointing finish to the photos printed on it.Also be aware that the removable card counters that replace the traditional property locations don't physically slot into the board as I expected, the simply sit in pre-cut recesses and can easily be knocked out.I fixed it quickly with little dots of blu-tack, but shouldn't have had to. This was lazy design. What a shame because the concept is brilliant and the ability to make a really personalised game will be really appreciated by the recipient.

Although, as a family, we are very fond of our traditional, long owned [50 years!] monopoly set, this version has proved to be a fun item for the school holidays. Children really do enjoy the opportunity to stamp their own personality on the set and really make it 'their own'. In the past few years it has become possible to get monopoly sets featuring many cities - I know there is a set featuring Liverpool, a set featuring Space exploration, and even one for Snoopy fans -however for those of us who do not live in a big city this set gives the opportunity to create a personal monopoly game featuring, not just family and friends but also your own village, town or suburb. It will never replace the original in my affections but it has been a real hit in this house!

Excellent and available for about £6.00 - quite astonishing. The software online actually works well, but you may need an extra 5 minutes to figure it out, but its worth it as it prints the property stickers easily and accurately. Some reviewers have struggled with the software and all I can say is persevere - as it works and allows you to resize pictures etc. as you need. (We used Windows 7 and IE11)One of our children is autistic and we would especially recommend it for autistic children, as he enjoyed the detail, theme and picture selection and overall focus on his own world while being a Monopoly lover anyway. Everyone had a good time setting it up and choosing pictures.Very happy with this product

This is a great game and in to personalise. We have it full of places we visit. Some shops, some theme parks and zoos, some friends and families houses. The app was rubbish and i ended up just measuring the stickers and drawing it out on a Word document, putting pictures into the right places, then printed it. I found this doable as I have computer skills but others without such skills would struggle. But other than the app it's great quality as you would expect from monopoly, and it's fun for the kids to have a game of the places we visit, rather than places we've never heard of.I only paid a fiver for it, so great value for money for me!Great game, but beware of the app for printing the stickers!

Not exactly what I was expecting, but when I figure out how to use the laptop to get the cards etc printed out, it should be OK. I had hoped to be able to replicate standard Monopoly with local street names etc, and you can't exactly do that - you can make pictures to use as placeholders but not change Old Kent Road into your local back alley. It seems more designed for younger people to put selfie pictures on the cards and things like that, but to be honest I need to spend time figuring it out. Put it this way - we played standard Monopoly this Christmas.

This was purchased for £5 as a gift for dad. Growing up we have always played Monopoly, but this board gave us the chance to make our own! Personalising the pieces and board tiles made for a fun dynamic that mixed up the classic format of monopoly, and when you introduce house rules, well, that's a whole different board game! A great gift and a fantastic modern spin on a classic game. Definitely one to add to the collection if you can get it for this price. Well made, quick delivery, no complaints.

This is a brilliant way of making a personalised game of Monopoly in an inexpensive way. I did it for a friend's 60th birthday and it was a massive hit.Easy to download photos. Only problem is that sometimes the photos printed slightly outside the sticker margins therefore missing text etc. As you only get 4 sheets and I messed up a couple the problem was that it was not possible to order spare sticker sheets. I had to buy other printer label sheets and got a techy friend to adapt photos.

Brilliant! I was really dubious about this given all the negative reviews, but I am delighted with it! The app and website are no longer in existence, as many other reviews report... but anyone with a basic understanding of Microsoft word can set up a label format to customise the stickers. It didn't take long to print my photos onto the labels provided and personalise the board, cards and playing pieces. We love the game, hilarity ensued! Ace!

My daughter was talking about making her own version of Monopoly for our home town and then I discovered this just before her birthday. Great fun personalising the squares. Stickers fit as long as you don't have 'fit to page' ticked on printer options (wasted a sheet with stickers not aligned). Amazing price too

An excellent game to make your own, with everything on the personalized to your taste. Add your own pictures and street names, even your favorite hot spots in your area.Item was delivered on time and the packaging was great to keep the item safe.
