We received Monopoly Speed and the kids wanted to play straight away. I know it’s states it’s for 8yo and above but my youngest is 7 and he managed to play it with no issues. On the first play it was a bit hectic and no one was really sure what we where doing the community chest and chance cards but the more we played the more everyone understood what was happening. We have played Classic Monopoly in the past and for the kids it just took too long but this is perfect for keeping them engaged in the game for the full 10 minutes it took to play. They enjoyed playing it with my husband and I as well as on their own with their friends. Also due it only being a 10 minute gameplay they enjoyed playing it multiple times in a row.So my kids who are 9yo and 7yo rates the game 9/10 and that they would definitely play it again and again As a parent I would give it 9/10 as it was easy to set up and let the kids play on their own whilst making dinner as well as being a good family game. Monopoly Speed!! What a different approach to the Monopoly classic we all know and love. The game has a different feel to the Monopoly classic meaning that it is something a little different to play than what we may be used to. It is a very fast game to play which can be hard for younger children to keep up with or even understand what is going on but all the times we played it, the kids loved it and were asking to play again each time we finished the game. It is also great that a full game can be played start to finish in less than 10 minutes and this move by those who created the game has certainly given me a reason to pull this game out with my family more often as we are sometimes shorton time but would enjoy playing this game together and now with the reduced time taken to play the game start to finish it will give us no excuse!I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a game which provides fun whilst not taking up all of your time! As much as we love traditional Monopoly it tends to go on a bit. Therefore we seldom play it unless we can dedicate hours to it. Monopoly Speed is an amazing concept of fast paced buying frenzies . . . we found we were all getting the giggles as we tried to bomb round! It is such a perfect length that it is easy to fit a game or two in at almost anytime. It is quite addictive so we found we played more rounds than intended. My eight year old loved it and my three year old enjoyed being a double act with me. My partner is not really one for board games but he has suggested playing this several times since. Therefore it is a really crowd pleaser. The only downside for it with me is it's not so portable and compact. You need to ensure you have space to play and need a solid and level surface. Having said that we would usually only play it at home anyway. Really enjoyed being part of this one and have discovered a new firm family favourite! When Monopoly Speed first turned up, I had that usual pre-Monopoly anxiety all parents get when you are trying to play with a 7, 9 and 11 year old, as well as partner who has little patience! We're also huge fans of traditional Monopoly, so I wasn't expecting miracles, but upon unboxing we were really impressed with the look and feel of the game. It took no time at all for all of us to learn the new way to play. There were some arguments over the timer, (mainly who is in charge...), but surprisingly fewer than our normal game nights. I'm not quite sure how Monopoly did it. Really enjoyed the pace of the game, which meant we could squeeze in more games than usual so everyone had a chance to win (except me,as usual). I gave 4 stars out of 5 as I don't think anything can beat the original Monopoly. However, if you have a large family with children of varying ages, this version is a great leveller and well worth having in the cupboard for a rainy day! If you love to play Monopoly but got less time? Then this game is ideal for you. Speed version is perfect without losing the essence of classic Monopoly, quicker and ideal for any day after a meal, if you have just 10 mins to spare. My daughter, who is competitive, loved the timer and the separate dice and raced to complete the half round to earn quick 1000s :). We loved two Go spaces and no rent. Money was easy to handle for kids as all properties are 1000 (1000 Monopoly money??). Chance and community chest were put to good use than classic Monopoly, as you need to play strategically to earn extra money at the end of the game. Timer is surprisingly fun, with horns for buying and trading stages.Time gets shorter for buying stage and longer for trading stage each round. Description is very clear in manual. Very colorful and sturdy board. Properties and coins seems long lasting as well. Fun for whole family. Perfect shorter version overall!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We could not wait to try this game as a family so we opened it as soon as it arrived, We liked the idea of being able to see the timer displayed so it could be viewed from the outside of the packaging and made the game look very exciting. The instructions were easy to understand and the game board and counters were very accessible to all. The game is very fast paced and this adds to the enjoyment of the game as you are waiting to hear the buzzer advise you that the current round is over, we also enjoyed being our own banker and having control of our movement around the board. Due to this game being quick it has also enabled us as a family to enjoy more time together playing because it can be played after work and school,This is great and I would recommend to busy families. We even took the game to relatives houses who now wish to purchase for themselves . I would recommend this game to anyone considering making a new board game purchase [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We were excited to have Monopoly Speed as we are big monopoly fans traditionally. The game was quick to set up and the instructions were clear, and we were into gameplay very quickly! The gameplay itself is a little bit manic, and we were keen to try different "win" tactics - which we are still exploring! It's definitely a game that is easy to understand and perhaps helps bridge that gap between Junior and Adult monopoly. Although gameplay is repetitive it's also brief, and we are happy to play several rounds at a time. We would have liked to see more variation in the chance cards, particularly when there is only two of us playing, and the trading sections are perhaps a little long for two players but we can see how they are needed for larger groups.A maximum of four players is a little restrictive we felt, especially as our games are often bought out at family gatherings, but an enjoyable game none the less. Monopoly Speed is by far one of the best versions of the Monopoly brand and I highly recommend it to all who like the original game. It is quick and easy to set up, and although "play" in the buying stage may seem a little frantic to some, with up to four sets of hands moving their counters, it doesn't seem to be an issue. The trading stage is something in Monopoly Original we do not do with our children as the game tends to last a long time, but with this version, it works so much better. Players can return properties to the board and even swap what they have with another person to help them win the game. This makes it so much easier to get a complete set.The way that the Community Chest cards are played is also a great addition as it can add money to the player at the end of the game. The whole family love to play it and often, the children get it out for a quick game. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

If you enjoy the concept of playing monopoly but don't have time to sit for hours on end playing it, then Monopoly Speed allows you to have a fun game but in a very short space of time. It can be hard initially to abandon the concepts of the original monopoly game such as landing on opponents property and building houses and hotels. However once you understand the simpler rules, a lot of fun can be had in a very short amount of time. As banking is simpler and there is no need to get out of jail, travelling around the board is much quicker. There can still be a lot of trading between opponents but as time is limited, deals are agreed much quicker. The ability to return an opponent's card to the board or to snatch it off of them via some of the chance cards also adds to the excitement. We have already enjoyed a number of games of Monopoly Speed in our first week of ownership. Everything is valued at the same price, rolling the dice and frantically racing around the board is an exciting draw to the game. It's not often you see board games where everyone is trying to move a game piece at the same time. Limbs get in the way of limbs, and that's a good thing. The trading rounds are frantic, chance cards are curve balls and the ending dramatic. Monopoly Speed is a good addition to the Monopoly scene. Far from classic gameplay, but that's not a bad thing at all. Every game lasts around 10 minutes so you'll mostly hear "let's have one more" before packing it away. I'd recommend Monopoly Speed. It's fun, fast paced and time limited (in a good way!) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A real fun family game for up to 4 players form the ages of 8 upwards.Instructions and set up was very easy, you do need to put 3 AAA batteries in the timer with a small screwdriver. My 8 old fully understood the game rules easily and had lots of fun playing. There is 4 times the timer stops for you to trade or swoop your properties which add to the fun and laughter. Overall the game last 10 minutes which is a lot better than the classic game which can last to long for my daughter for this game she didn't loose interest and keeps asking to play again. She fully gives it a thumbs up and can't wait to play with her friend at a monopoly club she is part of at her school. Happy child means happy mummy.Would fully recommend the game to family and friends. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My son 12 and daughter 10 really enjoyed playing Speed Monopoly. It’s a fun, fast-paced game meaning that you can have a bit of quality family time however busy your schedule is. We found that it was perfect to fill a void before bedtime when the children are often bored. It was very easy to learn the rules, though you have to be quite good with numbers when tallying up so it is better suited for older children. The one thing that the children didn’t particularly like were the plastic figures due to environmental awareness, I have to agree I prefer the traditional metal ones. The timer was a fun, lively addition to quicken the pace of the game and add some pressure.Overall we really enjoyed this game and would definitely recommend it. What a fantastic game. This game really captures the essence of Monopoly whilst keeping it simple (and quick) enough for young children to enjoy. My 6 year old couldn't play enough Christmas (or since). The good: Game play is fast with a couple of variations for more patient players. The numbers are easy (purchase price and rents are the same, no buildings) and rent is doubled for a pair. The chance cards are generous at the beginning (lots of free properties) but become more dangerous as the game goes on.The bad: Not much. My only niggle is the quality of the paper money. It is both very thin, and very sticky. This was brought into focus by playing an old game of Totopoly which is at least 35 years old.The money from that has aged well, and still has a good feel to it.

Speed Monopoly is a great take on the original and we found it to be fun for all the family. A game is done in around 10 minutes and it’s fast, furious and fun. The rules are super easy to follow. So much so that our 6 year old was able to play with a little help. In the buying stages be quick with a role of your dice or you will be left behind behind the other players as they snap up properties super fast. Just when you think your wining the other players swoop in and then it’s on to the next buying phase. It really is a great game and a lovely addition to our family fun nights. If you love monopoly but want to just have a quick game, this is great. We had a real laugh playing it because you have to be so quick to roll and purchase. Our only quibble with it really is that without an extra person to watch the game, it is very easy for someone to cheat during the buying process because it’s so fast that you can’t see what other players are up to at times. It might be good to have 2 different speeds of play for this simplified version of monopoly. A 10 min one, which we have and another timer option too- maybe 20 minutes? Overall, it was fun for the whole family. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
