The 'free' office programmes or alternatives by other manufacturers simply don't come near Office 2013. This software gives its all to make your day productive and to make your output compatible, sharable and editable by the vast majority of the known universe.PowerPoint 2013 has fantastic new themes. a tidier and even more efficient ribbon and like all the other items in the suite has a wonderful new look that is just like using your browser.Excel 2013 is neater and brighter, and particularly clear in its presentation of data.Word 2013 is just the latest and best of these excellent series of Word processing programmes. It is a creditable DTP suite also.A OneNote licence is also included.Office 2010 was good, but only built on the huge step forward that was Office 2007. Office 2013 is also a huge leap forward, if only because it is aimed at the cloud user. By default your programmes are saved to your cloud drive, and 20Gb is provided free. It is simplicity to save to your hard drive or USB stick, but SkyDrive is a superb system of storage that you can access anywhere on any device. This change seems like an imposition, but when you have used it for a month you will never go back. This pack is a fully downloadable version of all 4 programmes for you to keep on your hard drive, but will only install on 1 PC. I stress that there is no disc provided, but that isn't a problem, and when we live in a world where optical drives are starting to be phased out this actually makes things easier on installing.Unless you want Access, this is the suite to buy, and you will never look back from Office 2013 - this is the version to buy!

I came from Office 2002 to 2010 late October. I really cannot understand all the negative reviews - I am 70 plus, and no expert, but i had no problem at all with Word 2010 - I like it a lot. And that notorious ribbon. Really? One click and it disappears. I downloaded the free 2013 version a few days ago and I am delighted. As one reviewer noted; there are far more improvements than are immediately obvious. The easy read option is very useful, as are the the PDF options (As noted) One Note is also very useful. Text with images is now a doddle. The image can be positioned just where you want it.Saving to the cloud is an option; it is not mandatory; it might prove to be very useful. If the main issue is the cost; I now have word 2010 and 2013.All at a cost of less than £80. Yes, there are free options, but none really approach the standard of Microsoft. I also use a Mac, but for writing, Windows is much to be preferred. Please stop knocking Microsoft, and be grateful for what it does offer. £100? People (many), spend that much on alcohol, each month. Word, by contrast, at least has the potential to be used creatively.I confidently predict that this version of word will be widely praised - In my opinion it is the best ever.Best wishes to you all,David

I just thought that i would post a review to counter balance some of the negative 1 star reviews received here about the non-transferable license. It was the case that once you installed it was tied to the PC; this bad decision has been reversed by Microsoft, leaving you to transfer to a new PC as desired.I upgraded from 2010 and although there aren't a huge amount of differences, I do prefer the new, clean interface + they have cleaned up a number of bugs; one being an annoying connection error to Hotmail accounts. It feels quicker and is more uniform across the board. I went with the Office 365 package as I am a student and you get 2 licenses for 4 years @ £59.99 with 20GB extra cloud storageand Skype benefits. If you have 2010 version and are a casual user then it's a bit of a sell to think about upgrading, as a stand alone product it's well worth it. For others there's always the free Open Office.

Potential buyers should note that following a lot of negative press about non-transferable Office licenses, Microsoft changed this policy in March 2013.You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner)."Based on customer feedback we have changed the Office 2013 retail license agreement to allow customers to transfer the software from one computer to another," Microsoft's Jevon Fark said in a blog post on Wednesday. "This means customers can transfer Office 2013 to a different computer if their device fails or they get a new one."

This does pretty much exactly the same thing as previous versions of Microsoft office but with a few new cloud storage features and other small refinements. It is fully functional though but it will only work on a fairly recent computer (the requirements are windows 7 or 8). The biggest downside is the licence is for one computer only which makes it cost more than the previous version which was for three computers. As long as it is the industry standard expect similar behaviour from Microsoft in the future where it may become a in the cloud product only. Otherwise a fairly good product but only worth buying if you really need it.

The licence card worked well, I just went onto the site named in the leaflet and it down loaded. I have been told that if I change my computer I just use the same site and the same licence number and it will be transferred.I did do something silly with my brilliant new computer and had to reload everything and there was no problem reloading the office package. no questions asked it just reloaded. But it was to the same computer both times.I was a bit wary at first with not having a disc to put into my computer, but it seems to be ok.

this software is essential for everyone who uses a computerto write, calculate and design from basic to more advanced workincluding every tool you will need to achieve thisthe new 2013 system works by download onlythere are no discs for Microsoft's securitythis card gives one years use for one user, then you can decidewhat to do in the future, buy a monthly or annual licence

I have always been a fan of Office and feel that again Office 2013 delivers. I am also really pleased in the change in policy that means you can take your copy to your next PC when you upgrade.Cannot recommend highly enough.

Nothing wrong with the 'Office Suite'. Intuitive and easy. However, three to five working days standard delivery is really poor. How difficult is it to pop a really small parcel into the post?

We like the software - but we knew that already - we bought it for a new computer. Installation was easy. As ever with Microsoft, the biggest grouse (and it is a big one) is the price!

I found the ordering process straightforward, my only criticism is on the part of Royal Mail, who did not leave it in a very secure place, it was on the path when I got home.

Installed as a free upgrade from Office 2010. The additional features in Word are particularly helpful, and it is gradually converting me to the benefits of The Cloud,

5.3.2013

Good product many changes made all for the better and easy to interact with older office think the price could be a little cheaper though

I've only had this a few days and already I'm finding new ways to save time. Favourite feature is the auto-fill feature in the new Excel
