If I was only allowed 1 flashlight my entire life, this is the one I would commit to and heres why,Out of my flashlights this is the one that I use the most often. I work as a plumber for a public school system and when things are slow I also help out with maintenance on a variety of tasks both big and small. Honestly I think this flashlight is the most versatile type of flashlight I have ever tested. I have actually bought more than one of these with the intent of testing the durability and I have done everything to thouroughly try to wreck these and they just refuse to quit. Using AAA batteries they are readily available if you ever need it to take them out of another device in a situation where you desperately needed a flashlight. The batteries are also inexpensive and readily available. I have literally thrown these as high as I can and let them slam on a cement parking lot and they continue to work flawlessly. The reflector on these is very good and it looks like more than 100 lumens. 60 lumens is rated as enough light to blind a person in a dark environment so at 100 lumens this thing packs a punch for its size and price. I use it every day at work and it is 100% flawless. I let people borrow it and it still continues to get the job done. For a light so small the throw is very good and the hotspot is so bright that if it shines off a wall my eyes actually hurt. I have tried flashlights from other companies and I honestly think that Maglite is the best at designing parts and making them replaceable and durable. Even though they usually offer less lumens, the optics are made so well that I believe Maglite obliterates the competition. These things are built to last and they are repairable. These can easily survive a 30 foot drop. I know because I've repeatedly thrown them as high as I can and have watched them slam on cement. Whether you need a sturdy light to keep in your pocket at work or something to use tactically in a pinch, a small home security light or just a light for general purposes, I believe this is the most versatile light I have ever owned. It is bright enough to lock a door or search your house in the dark and I've used it to illuminate hundreds of feet of crawl space underneath school buildings for my job. I'm very picky with products that I own and this is the light that I prefer for work because it is not too heavy and is versatile and packs a punch like I never imagined it would. You don't need to read any more reviews, just buy it. For the price you can't go wrong. And despite of its low price and small size it is a beast. It's easy to carry in your front pocket with your wallet and even though I walk thousands of feet doing service calls throughout the day walking down long hallways in school buildings I do not feel at all held back by having this in my front pocket. I don't generally write reviews but I just had to because of how much I love this thing. I love it so much that it actually annoys my girlfriend and my roommate because I talked to them about it even though I know they don't care about it but if you buy when I promise you that you will care very much about it and it will be the best decision that you've made this year. It's durable, waterproof, and versatile, and easy to carry without adding much weight to your pocket at all.

This torch has revolutionised my life. It's just the right size to fit in my mouth so that I can have my hands from for all those previously cumbersome night time tasks from getting the logs in, emptying the chamberpot, walking the dog (no torch-mouth action required for this one, except for getting him untangled from brambles!), getting my keys out to unlock the front door or chasing badgers and other nocturnal beasts from the garden and of course checking under the bed for monsters (and over it for spiders!) It's so powerful I can identify approaching strangers from down the end of the lane to give me time to prepare an appropriate greeting! It's nearly completely waterproof, has survived the occasional puddle drop and more often my perpetual salivation (only whilst I have a torch in my mouth! I'm not a drooler!) I had been managing with the normal AA batteried maglite for the previous 20 years (yes it lasted that long!) and the weight of it was giving me crooked teeth, not to mention having to find and change that comparatively dim bulb every five years or so. This new mini maglite is a beauty! It even still has the good old 'free standing candle mode', although the new super white and bright LED isn't quite as romantic as the yellowish light from the old style bulb. My girlfriend envied it so much she practically demanded one for herself for Christmas (although a red one rather than black, which is just as well because I wouldn't want her taking mine home my mistake!)

A few weeks ago I realized something, while using a lousy flashlight to find something in my closet. In all my years, I have never bought a "good" flashlight - it's all been plastic dollar store junk! I decided to do the deed and get one of the more trusted names in USA-made flashlights - that's right, a good ol' MagLite. Since I didn't want to break the bank, I went with this model (MagLite Mini), one of their smaller, pocket-sized lights.I am blown away by the quality of the light! It's brighter than *any* light I've ever had, even the much larger (cheapo incandescent) plastic flashlights I've bought from dollar stores. I used it tonight to check on my sprinkler system, and this wee light illuminated most of my (small) front yard in flood mode.I also already dropped it once on a hard surface, and the light went out. I thought "Great, my first nice flashlight, and I've broken it within three days." Nope! I just had to turn the flashlight head *slightly*, and the light came back on, bright as can be. Not a scratch on it!I was so impressed that a bought one of the tiny MagLite Solitaire lights for my electronics bag - perfectly for illuminating a computer case while installing components/checking motherboard jumpers/connectors.Five stars!

If you don't have time to read all the review - just buy this if you need a torch!I bought the blister packed version of this torch and I use this daily at work. It's much smaller than other torches (it's smaller than a whiteboard marker pen) - I even had someone go to take it out of my pocket as they needed to 'borrow my pen' (although I did question their eyesight!).I get through a set of batteries every 3 months or so (but as I said, it gets used a lot). I've noticed a distinct drop-off in brightness when the batteries are nearing the end of their life, so tend to change them quickly when I spot that. However, my main praise must be reserved for just how bright the light is!It is so much better than the old 'bulb' maglites. It is powerful enough to light a path when it is pitch black, and there's no 'black spot' in the middle of the light. It also weighs very little.I think the simplest test of how useful something is to you is: If you lost it today, would you buy another tomorrow. My answer is yes, without a doubt.

Super bright clipped little pocket light. Do not mistake this for a typical pen light. It has very bright output that easily lights up 100 meters in front of you. Flashlights/LED’s are always a balance between brightness vs. battery life. This is well balanced with good runtime. I have used this on everyday basis both at work and at home and it has been dropped numerous times on stone/concrete floors etc. and persevered. Bought a spare one when on sale. Absolutely best in class/for the price. I have been using Maglite since the early 90’s. Always been a good brand. Now with LED technology even better. The reason why police and guards etc. all over the world uses them. Some reviews state they stop working because of the lamp head contact gets weak or whatever. It must be people who use them to club people with or hammering nails with, because I have sat on them, dropped them etc. and never had one fail on me. Buy with no regrets.

This mag light is amazing. I had one before and I gave it to my father in law because they were still using and old bulb style mag light. I had to buy another because I missed it. Batteries last forever and it puts out enough light that you can do night hikes and work around the campsite with nothing else. It is truly an impressive light for its size. I have the 1000 lumen lights purchased off eBay and they are brighter but they also require more expensive batteries and chargers and they need replaced after a couple hours. This can use regular old AAA batteries and even the dollar store ones last for days. It can go in the glove box for months and come out with full power every time.Led doesn't get dim like the old ones. It's full power every time until the batteries are dead. You will get warning because if you turn it off and on a lot it will have a delay letting you know they're low.

I am using this for a quick measurement of the pupillary light response and dogs. Having tried it on myself, I found it extremely bright. So I am using it at at least a 45° angle. Not directly. It also helps when looking at patches of skin, the underside of an animal that doesn't want to turn over, and down in the ears.I said all that to say this:When it turns on, the head gets a little bit loose and may flicker. Please consider that I use this flashlight 20 times a day. But I have only used it for three weeks. It should be precisely crafted enough, to provide unwavering light when loosened to turn it on. It has no switch. In every other respect, it is what you would expect from mag light. It is nice and slim, and fits in a pocket making it an excellent inspection penlight..

For ~$12, this was sold by sporato and fulfilled by Amazon.com.PROS: * Small and lightweight * Precision machining * Tough aluminum body * Powerful, even light output contains no blemishes * Smooth on/off * Comes with a decent pocket clip - Not great, but a handy throw in * MADE IN USA * Comes with two Duracell aaa batteries * Looks and operates coolCONS: * Not a lot of grip is provided * Batteries rattle around, just a little * Not easy to turn on/off with one hand - I was aware of how the flashlight turns on/off, before I bought it, and nothing has been deducted for this. This is not a flaw of the flashlight - I,also, own the Maglite XL50, which has a tail on/off buttonOVERALL: A small, quality, and very bright (84 lumens) flashlight.

Needed a small flashlight for work to keep in my apron....tried the AA MagLite size , but it was too big and kind of awkward in the pocket. This AAA size is absolutely perfect. Compact but not too small, pen clip keeps it in my pocket, and most importantly it puts out tons of light....even more than the larger version. Even though it's an LED, it's plenty bright for my purposes...both for up close visual inspections and for lighting up the darkness at night. I can't speak to the battery life, only because I haven't had it long enough. I use it multiple times a day and have been very pleased. I will be buying another, and I highly recommend this iteration of the MagLite.

Mini Mag Light, well I left my old one that was going strong after 25 years at Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. So needless to say I had to replace it, and decided to go with the LED model. I would say overall that it is brighter than the original, but haven't used it for a longer enough time period to have an idea how long the batteries last.My only, if you could call it a complaint, would be that my original light came with an orange lens kit for night vision. This kit is available with the AA mag light, but I couldn't find one for the mini mag light. Fortunately I still had an extra from 25 yrs ago, which fit and works great in the LED model.

I'm a older mechanic and have gone through a lot of LED flashlights. Lose em and break them a lot. Why are flashlights black? Drop in a car and you won't even know it's lost till it's too late. The little light is almost as bright as my normal Cree lights but this has the great advantage of fitting in my pockets without being in the way. The batteries they include are lasting a long time. More than my rechargeable ones do. Love the brightness, size and bright red color. If only they had an end switch. On and off it's all you need for everyday work. The 5 mode ones make you constantly cycle through them to get back to bright on.

I bought the MagLite Mini LED Flashlight to put in a homemade roadside assistance kit. This MagLite Mini LED Flashlight might be small, and believe me it is small, but it is as bright as the biggest MagLite. Along with being kept in a vehicle for emergencies, this flashlight would be excellent for people who work on computers, handymen or women, or any repairmen or women. It is small enough to fit in pants or shirt pockets and not be highly noticeable. Heck, I carried it to my car four different times in my jeans pockets and forgot I had it on me to put in the kit until I just took it in my hand the fifth time.
