I wasn't sure about the thickness of the canvas or the length of the handles, however all this changed when I used it. I stuck my laptop, its accessories and a notebook into the bag and it was perfect. I'm moving away from using BIG bags to crossover messenger bags and this is exactly what I need on the days I have to carry my laptop. Love it :)
