this is by far, the best thing I've ever bought from Amazon. My hammock arrived well before expected, in no time at all it was up between two trees at the bottom of my garden. The set up is super easy to use, it literally takes less than two minutes to hang before I'm ready to just chill out. I've used it in the day time just relaxing in the sun and I've used it to camp out over night, I've had my wife in with me and it didn't feel restricted or uncomfortable, nor did it feel like at any point we would fall out or the strength of the hammock was insufficient. I weigh around 20 stone and my wife just under 8 stone and the hammock handled us very well indeed. Now that the weather is getting colder at night,I found that using an under quilt and sleeping bag has been sufficient enough to keep me warm, I also use a tarp setup above to keep the rain off. I can truly say, I've had some of the most comfiest nights sleep in my entire life since owning my hammock. Most weekends are now spent with me, my son, and my small dog, all hanging from a couple of trees, trust me, it's great. The material is so strong and yet feels soft against you.To sum up... Just buy one ( it's very reasonably priced compared to some out there) you will NOT regret it.Gently swaying between the trees and you'll be off asleep in no time at all.The hardest thing is getting out of it and I don't mean physically, I just mean that you won't want to.A little history to finish with... The name hammock comes from the hamock tree where the indigenous would rip the bark from the tree and hang it in the same way we do now with our modern hammocks. The idea for parachute silk hammocks came from the Vietnam war where old USA parachutes were used by the Vietnamese to make their new hanging beds in the jungle, the USA should have took note of this as they were issued with waterproof hammocks, thus, when it rained hard, the U.S. Troops were affectively lying in a hammock full of water, d'oh.

Bought this on Wednesday and it arrived on Thursday. I couldn't believe the size of the bag. Tiny and it would fit in a day sack easily (or a big pocket). It is also very light.Being a big kid I couldn't wait so I opened it and set it up in my spare bedroom using a girder in my wardrobe and a door handle (on the outside of the door then over the door)Setting up with the included rope / hook combination took less than five minutes (will take 2 minutes now I know what I am doing). Adjusting the straps is as easy as pie and fixing the hammock to the line was a breeze.Test drive. I got into the hammock and assumed the position (diagonal rather than fore-and-aft) and the hammock felt at the same time strong and soft.Enveloped by silk, gently rocking from side to side I could have been on a tropical beach soaking up the rays. I can't describe the feeling except to say; imagine you are on a flat-bottomed boat on a gently swelling sea and you'll get the idea.My girfriend had a go and didn't want to get out. Later we tried it together and there was plenty of room and we didn't feel as if we were about to fall out or that the lines were about to give. Stable, comfortable, dreamy, relaxing and portable.Putting the hammock up and taking it down really does only take a couple of minutes. You could carry it with you on a walk, bike ride, whatever and simply put it up whenever you find a beautiful spot you'd like to relax in....Tonight I am going to sleep in it as it really is that comfortable and stable. If you're looking for a travel hammock this one will be very, very hard to beat. Buy one. You'll be glad you did.

just brilliant! This hammock is so comfortable! Took with me on a recent trip to Portugal and it went with me every where. It's small and compact and the carry bag is awesome. I would hang it out in the park or between palm trees at the beach to read a book and enjoy the sunshine.... got many enquiries from other tourists asking where I got it! One the best pieces of kit I own now.The suspension slings are bit heavy... but I left them in the bag cos they are soooo easy to fit to a tree and adjust. I just put up with the few extra grams because of the simplicity. As easy as whoopie slings, really!Lastly, the parachute silk is soooo soft and comfortable, I've actually been using the hammock as sleeping bag too.Perfect in the summer months.
