I took a while before ordering to look at various pros/cons of the range of models available and my needs, budget etc. I even measured up to see that it would fit inbetween the base of my computer trolley. But what I didn't do (and should have!) was factored in that once my office style chair was included into the equation, that the chair front leg and wheel would make the depth of this footrest initially not work so well for my style of computer trolley, which has a low bottom shelf just above floor level...but this was easily resolved by removing this bottom computer trolley shelf so that now, I have excellent full range foot support with this footrest. I find it comfortable and combined with a good chair, and the mousepad/wrist rest I bought at the same time, am already finding that my posture whilst sitting for prolonged periods at my computer is very much improved, with noticeably less foot/back/shoulder/arm/wrist ache etc.If you are buying this to fit under a desk, you shouldn't have the problem re depth that I had re my particular computer trolley. But if you are buying it to fit under a computer trolley, you might want to be a bit more careful re depth than I originally was/check that if needs be, your bottom computer trolley shelf can be quickly removed and that you don't rely on it for what could be missed storage space!I am very pleased with it indeed: just thought I'd point this feature out incase others found it useful in their decision making.

Most of my comments about this foot rest are contained in the accompanying video review, however I have briefly summarised them below.THINGS THAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS FOOT REST:* It is easy to assemble. The main body is one moulded piece of plastic and the four foot pieces are quick to assemble* There are rubber pads on the feet which help to stop it slipping* The moulded grooves on the upper side of the foot rest stop your shoes slipping and give your feet a mini massage if you are just wearing socks* You can put this into a number of different positions, the rear foot rests have five different height levels and the front ones can either be included or left out giving two different positionsTHINGSTHAT I WASN'T SO KEEN ON:* It is fairly lightweight compared to more expensive foot rests and it does feel quite plasticy* Although there are a number of different height positions and angles that you can put this into you don't have an infinite choice as to the final position* If you take one foot off it tends to tip over towards the remaining foot* Over time when used on a laminate flooring it does tend to slip away from you. It is find on carpet or a lino floorOVERALL CONCLUSION:For home or light use this is ideal. It is fairly sturdy, easy to assemble and can be positioned at two different heights and five different angles.

The item arrived well within the specified time, extremely well packaged and by courier service. The footrest itself is nicely designed with varying adjustments and both looks and feels as if great care has gone into manufacturing a strong piece of office equipment which if looked after should last for many years to come. Although, as with anything only time will tell.Returning to the adjustments: The footrest comes with a hand graph showing four colours, the same corresponding colours are shown on both sides of the footrest, you have to place your hand on the graph and depending which colour your finger tips reach this is the colour you lock the height to. The footplate also has an additional adjustment,it can be left in the rocking position or locked in a position most comfortable for the user. The two side wing-nuts are for locking the height adjustment and the front foot operated pedal is for locking the footplate position. If you are looking for a wide sturdy footrest with removable rubber face for cleaning, I will thoroughly recommend this product made by Acco UK Ltd.

I damaged my back rather badly and, as a result, sitting at my computer became incredibly painful and likely to make my back worse, according to my physiotherapist, who is very clever. I'm self-employed and need to spend time working at my desk, so needed to minimise the risk of my discs popping out of my spine again. I already had a comfortable chair, but realised that my spine went into a stupid position because I couldn't get my feet flat on the floor, and using a box to rest them on made my knees higher than my hips, which is apparently a bad thing.I thought this foot rest was worth a shot, and I've been delighted with it! It is incredibly sturdy, easy to move when you want it to move, but won't suddenly skid about as you're using it. The gentle incline means that depending on how close I need to be to the desk, and what shape my back is in, I can put my feet at any position and still maintain a 'neutral spine'. Apparently that's what I need.I've been delighted with this foot rest. I am sure we will continue to be very happy together. :-)

Just what I needed for my home office! Now that I work from home and tend to have back problems, I need extra support for keeping my posture in check. I had something similar to this in my previous place of employment and it helped a lot. There are several to choose from in here but this was one of the least expensive and had good reviews. It arrived very quickly and was easy to put together. It does take a bit of adjusting to get it just right with your chair/desk, but it should work with most people's setups as it has two levels to choose from to adjust it for your needs. It also stays in place even though I'm a fidgeter.I'm about 5"6 and have been using it for about a month. So far I've found it really helps my posture. It does take a bit of getting used to at first and it would have been nice to have one more notch as it was too high for me, but I was able to adjust my chair to make it work.

I tend to use footrests for both home and work as I find they can offer a more comfortable working position. Some are better than others, but generally I find simplicity is the key, and those with gimmicks (heaters etc) tend to become used less and less with time. This SoleSaver model from Kensington is about as simple as they come considering it has three different height settings, and has a few things in its favour. For a start it includes some rubber feet which work well in keeping the rest where I want it to be regardless of whether the floor is a soft or hard surface. It is also quite sturdy, and doesn’t make any noise when pressed – you’d be surprised how irritating a creaky footrest can be!It is good size-wise and is wide enough to cope with bigger bodies, but without taking up too much floor space. Overall I find it a simple and effective foot rest which works very well.

This is quite a large, study contraption, and not perhaps the most beautiful piece of furniture - but then that's perhaps not important. What does matter is whether it works, and after as short time of use I find it really does make a difference. Apart from lifting your feet and legs (and anything that gets your feet up has to be good!), it allows for much greater flexibility as regards seating position. This means you can adjust the height of your chair in relation to the desk or work station without leaving your feet dangling. It's quite a hefty piece and not likely to move around. It's also adjustable for height and for angle, once set both can be secured. It comes with some but not a lot of instructions, and while they are clear enough it would be good to have some sort of explanation with them, I feel a better understanding would help one get the best out of this.

It is quite a heavy chunky thing. It is most sturdy at a low height setting fully tilted. It is a bit wobbly at a higher setting, which makes you feel like you shouldn't put too much pressure on it. Plenty of adjustment but the height adjustment is not so good. The rubber grip is very good and removable. The tilting adjustment is very good and easy to do, even with your feet, but the height adjustment is not. The height is set by tightening two wing nuts and these are totally loose when the item is unpacked. Firstly you need to locate some nuts into slots before you can tighten the wing nuts. But even with them fully loosened it had to stand it on its side to lift it up to a higher setting and it wasn't very easy .I guess once you have the height you want, you probably won't need to adjust it again so I suppose it doesn't matter so much.

I've been using a plastic box under my desk to rest my feet on, as I'm a shortie (5'2"). The box has had to go back to being used as a box, and since it has been making my knees a lot better to rest my feet on something, I thought it was time for a proper footrest.I'm very pleased with the Solemate Plus: it adjusts for both height and tilt, so it is possible to get the perfect position. The height adjustment is a little fiddly, but the tilt adjustment can be done with the feet, without bending down, once you have the knack, which is excellent. It doesn't slip at all (on carpet tiles). The only down side is that there is a bit of play in the mechanism, so the top plate wobbles a bit,but it feels reasonably sturdy. I think that this wobblyness brings it down from 5 to 4 stars, though. A very good product, but not perfect.

I spend many hours each day doing art and craft work in my study, sitting on an office-type chair. As I am not very tall, I usually have my feet resting on the base of the chair. However, this does tend to tip you at a certain angle and as I had a serious back injury some years ago, I usually end up with bad backache by the end of the day. When I saw this footrest, it looked like it may encourage me into a better sitting position, and it certainly made a massive difference. After just a day of sitting with my feet properly supported and being more comfortable in my chair, I have no backache at all. Makes you realise that the correct posture is so important. Footrest is well made and the height is easily adjustable. The rubber feel stop it sliding around on your floor. Just wish I had had the sense to get one years ago!

I wasn't sure that I would actually like this, having used something like it in the past when using someone else's desk in work and finding it a bit of a pain. This one, however, is adjustable to suit you personally and as such is a much more comfortable support solution for when you are working at a desk and needing s footrest. Adjustment is easy enough but also a bit fiddly as you have to loosen screws and tighten them up by sticking your hand up the underside of the rest - a tight fit for my smaller hand so don't know about anyone with a large hand! It tilts easily by just shifting it with your foot and does give more comfort for those times I'm sitting at my desk for longer periods.Very good quality build and quite heavy so just as well it's going to be sitting under my desk and not needing to be moved about.

Bought one of these as I was (like a lot of people at the moment) working from home using my dining table as a desk and found that my feet were too far off the ground once I had adjusted my chair for the height of the table (probably made worse by me being 5'6"). I had been using a box to put my feet on but this was not ideal as it was uncomfortable and slid about all over the place on my wood floor. So I ordered this as a cheap option to see if it was better and I have to say that it's made a huge difference to my comfort levels already. OK, so this is very simple to assemble and only has limited options in terms of angles for use, but it seems perfect to me and the rubber feet keep it nicely secure on my wood floor.Works for me,didn't cost a fortune and no complaints so it's 5 stars from me.

This is a basic, entry level foot rest from Kensington, but that’s all I need for my home office. It’s very sturdy, being made out of thick plastic, but quite light too, so it’s easy to move it into position with your feet. The height is easy to adjust. The two raiser bars can be turned round and then slotted into the base in different sockets to give three different heights. I have it in the middle height currently which give me more height than my other foot rest, which is the floating plate type, which mostly just adjusts the angle of the plate but isn’t actually all that heigh. The footplate also has raised bumps on the surface, which are to stimulate your feet. If you’re using this in an office, you probably won’t have your shoes off, but it might be more useful at home.4 stars

My colleague at work had been complaiing of a sore back - we wondered if it might be that her legs were not in the correct position, like me she is small and so, like me, tends to sit with them resting on the legs of the swivel computer chair. So, I purchased this for her, it came the next day which surprised me and as she wasn't in that day I tried it myself, I must admit it did make a difference and I was reluctant to let her have the thing when she got back to work. She loves it and it has made a difference to the way she sits and she does not complain about her back anymore. It could be a placebo effect - I don't know - but its kept her in work and fit and healthy and that was my main concern,so well worth the money.

If your like me and spent a lot of time at your desk, for work or for gaming, this is a god send. I always find my lower back and my legs aching after a stretch, down to bad posture mostly. This footrest is fully built out the box, It has an easy push button at the base to lock It in place. Rubber furnishing stops slipping and keeps feet comfortably in place. It is surprisingly big, so Id advise you measure before buying, especially If you have a small leg area under the desk. Not had that long but If you treat your equipment properly I can't see It breaking or anything. Would recommend as an alternative to buying an expensive one. Advantage of this one is It can lock in place,a lot of others don't have this feature.
