This is not a generic product. The word Kensington appears on the clip at the top, on a stuck-on shiny oval thing in the middle of the front which will be covered up by a sheet of A4. Then on the back is a little plastic thing that looks like it somehow matches the stuck-on oval on the front - I really don't know why this is there - which says Kensington on it, and then the arm on the back that allows you to adjust the angle of tilt of the paper holder has the word Kensington embossed on it.The grey plastic is embossed with the recycling 6 sign. This means it is made from Polystyrene, a plastic used in toys, flower pots, video cassettes, ashtrays, trunks, beverage/food coolers, beer cups, wine and champagne cups, carry-out food containers and Styrofoam, to name just a few. My local council doesn't recycle this plastic, I guess it goes down the tip when it eventually breaks or falls out off use. Something tells me a product made from sustainable wood might have more green credentials, and might look nicer too.Functionally, this paper holder is ideally suited to holding a landscape sheet of A4 or taller legal paper if you slide the clip section up to one of its dozen or so click stops. The clip at the top is just strong enough to hold a pad or bundle of paper, so your're not obliged to rest your paper on the little curved lip at the bottom.Up the left side is a sliding piece of grey plastic that fits in the shallow groove on the front of the paper holder, and clips more firmly in the channels on the back, and this lets you move the transparent plastic paper holder to cover your sheet of paper at an appropriate height. The transparent plastic bar is just under 18mm tall, slightly magnifies whatever is underneath it and can be removed if you don't need it. Mine had a few hair-like scratches on the back of the magnifier - not the end of the world but it means it's not a particularly robust plastic and will likely show the signs of age when you use it. When I accidentally dropped my stand the transparent plastic bar fell out but fortunately nothing broke. If you are left handed it's pretty easy to swap the whole bar arrangement to hinge on the other side of the paper holder because the grooves are mirrored on both sides. There are a few other materials used in this stands construction. There are two black rubber feet at the bottom which stop it moving around your desk, and the flap out stand has a thin arc of black foam so it doesn't make a noise when you move it around. There are two little metal spring arrangements, making the two paper holders function. They're designed to function but it wouldn't surprise me if the one at the top breaks at some stage as the hinge is formed from the plastic that the clip is made from.In summary, this is a good and well priced paper holder, it's not ugly, although it's not designed to be viewed from behind. It can be adjusted to four angles ranging from almost vertical to tilting back at 45 degrees. It can hold a wide range of sheets of paper but is not ideal if you have a publication that folds out to A3 size (in other words, the width of two sheets of A4). It would not be suitable to prop a recipe book on and use in the kitchen, you'd want something more substantial. My guess is it would last for about 5 years in a typical office setting and would likely break at some stage.

I don’t spend all my time typing notes from paper, but it’s something I do from time to time, so I thought a copyholder like this might be useful. I’ve not tried any others, so I can’t compare this particular model to others on the market, but I can share my experiences.First impressions weren’t great. It does feel a little flimsy to me. Of course, it doesn’t have to be particularly robust in order to do its job, but it just feels a little cheap. This impression is not helped by the Kensington logo, which keeps peeling up (see picture). I’ve pushed it back down a couple of times but, if this keeps happening, I’ll pull it off, so the paper can sit flat.Once I got past these initial misgivings, however, I found this to be quite cleverly designed. There are four settings on the back, which allow you to adjust the copy from vertical (or pretty much so) back to about 45 degrees or so. I’ve not measured the angles but, again, I include pictures of the two most extreme settings. The holder has a ledge on the bottom, so your copy can just sit on that, or a clip at the top, if you prefer. There’s enough height for something a bit larger than A4. There’s also a clear guide that goes across the paper, which helps hold it in place. It’s only designed to work portrait-style, which is a bit of a shame for me as often I print stuff two pages per side, to make A5 booklet-style things. Still, I can use the clip at the top to hold these if I want (again, see photo for it in use, on my very messy desk).I do find it can be a bit of a pain to change the page, so this is a consideration if you’re doing that frequently. On the whole, however, it’s handy to be able to have by copy beside the screen rather than, say, flat on my desk, in my lap, or over the keyboard. While my first impressions of this product were not so positive, I’ve found it more functional once I’ve come to use it.

This is a lump of plastic but very useful and well designed. I tried it with 56 pages of A4 (I take 50 as a challenge – hey, I live life on the edge, I do) – the clip at the top held them fine. The transparent line guide doesn’t lie flat due to the thickness of the paper but Kensington have designed this copyholder well – the line guide is variable depth. Just pull it towards you to allow for more sheets (if you pull too far, it pulls out entirely – not a problem though. Just slide it back in). There is another good feature– there is a lip at the bottom of the stand, broader than the thickness of 50 sheets of standard paper. I rested my 56 sheets against it with lip to spare, and they still clipped in at the top. It means that I know they are not going to fall out.The line guide hinges wide. If you clip paper in on top of the line guide, just press on the far left and it hinger open like a car park barrier until the paper flops back behind it (though I wouldn’t do that with 56 sheets due to the weight – I would lift the sheets up).The stand has 4 angle settings (in the same way as a deckchair or standard plastic sunlounger has). And, just like a deckchair or sunlounger, just flip up the support and the whole thing collapses flat. The clip at the top moves up to accommodate the extra height of foolscap.Price at time of review: £10.97 for the black one and, oddly, £20.02 for the white one. No doubt, those prices may have changed by the time you read this.Excellent if you can get it at £10.97. Excellent but expensive at £20.02. 5 stars. That’s far too long a review for a £10 item – I have done it as it is good.

Kensington InSight Plus Easel Copyholder (Model # 62411) - BlackThis is a functional easel in dark grey plastic that is easy to adjust. I've been using it in the kitchen for recipes printed off the internet.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Takes 3 different sizes of paper, which is useful for offices that use A4, foolscap and legal size paper (adjusted from the top)* The paper can be rested on the bottom of the easel or clipped to the top, then held in place with the arm* The easel can be angled at 4 different angles (80, 70, 60 or 50 degrees)* The arm that holds the paper in place is clear so you can see through it* The arm can be moved up and down the lower half of the easel,to adjust where the paper is held in place* Folds flat for storage* Lightweight and portable=== NIGGLES ===* The listing describes this as black, whereas it is in fact medium grey* It does seem a lot of money for a plastic easel, albeit and adjustable one* The easel is slightly too large - for instance, using it with A4 paper, there is still a gap of a couple of inches under the bottom of the paper if the clasp is used and, if the paper is rested on the bottom of the easel, the clip does not reach* The instructions cover 4 different products, making them confusing (at first glance, it appears the easel does all sorts of fancy things, but in fact these are different products with different attachments)* Somewhat lumpen design - this is definitely aimed at a functional office environment rather than anything funky or homelyFor sale at the time of writing this review at £14.97

I bought this Kensington copyholder from a high street stationers a while ago and have been impressed with its performance enough to recommend it.It is designed for A4 use, with the top clip to hold paper in place, with the slide rule also on a bull-clip style lever to help angle the paper under it, with a ledge at the base of the unit to stand. It is limited to about 5 pages to hold in place, particularly as the slide rule is not designed to fit over larger reports and is not detachable. I would recommend it though for typing use of letters and particularly for accounting reconciliation reports, as the slide rule can greatly assist sight along pages of data and figures. The stand is easily assembled as part of built in flat pack, with a selection of 5 angles to prop up the board, with a sturdy and thick prop that snaps comfortably into the prop base.Overall a very inexpensive and great value tool for a computer-dependent administrator.

As far as I am concerned, the primary purpose of this product is to enable typists to securely position a document in such a way that they are able to read it easily whilst ensuring that it doesn't blow away when there is a draft! From that perspective, it works really well, given that it has a clipboard style clip at the top of the easel which will clamp the pages in position (the clip can be moved up and down by about 3 inches, such that it will accept paper formats from A4 to Foolscap to Legal). A separate clip at the side of the easel enables the paper to secured at the bottom, although this can be positioned virtually anywhere on the page. The design of the easel itself is also very good and it flexible enough to enable to slant of the easel to be at 50,60, 70 or 80 degrees (being four different positions for securing the easel). It also feels very durable and at the current price point, really good value for money.

For many people the Kensington brand name is perhaps mainly associated with the computer security lock system that bears the company's name, but Kensington itself has actually been part of ACCO Brands – the office products manufacturer - for many years, and it produces quite a wide range different office/computer related items these days. This Kensington InSight Plus Easel Copyholder is quite an old design, first available in 2006. The stand able to hold up to fifty sheets and features a movable line ruler – when not in use it can be folded to save space when storing. This is a well-made page-holder that can help reduce the amount of papers on your desk and keep your workspace tidy.Currently around fifteen pounds from Amazon this product represents decent value for it's usefulness and design and gets five stars for quality and features at the current price - this is a product that is suitable for either home or office use.

You would think that finding a good copy holder would be a simple affair. But this is my third attempt. The first one fell apart and the second one had a line guide that dropped two lines from left to right. Third time lucky though because this Kensington is excellent. It is well made, has cork and rubber pads on its base to stop it sliding around and the line guide is perfectly horizontal. There are also a couple of nice little extra features. The first is that the base is held back with a magnet when the copy holder is folded flat, and the second is that the document clip can extend upwards a few extra inches to cater for foolscap paper. Highly recommended.

This is such a useful thing for me - as an artist I often have references next to my drawing board and laying them flat can distort my perception of perspective etc. It is obviously well designed especially in the rear - it can be angled from 80 down to 50 degrees using a deckchair mechanism and when you want it flat a strong magnet secures it all. A bulldog clip holds the top of the paper and adjusts to hold different paper sizes, and a moveable clear arm keeps your place in text. Can't complain about anything - if I had to make a suggestion perhaps a slightly bigger shelf at the bottom as I often use my tablet for reference too.

I work mainly with rosters and I've been using this copy holder for a while now. it's proven to be a quality product. it folds flat for when you don't need to use it, it can be positioned in several different angles, sturdy clip on top which extends in hight for bigger formats, ledge on the bottom for smaller amounts of sheets. The poniter can be easily attached or detached plus it is on a spring and it bends towards you so you don't have to take it all out to change the document for example. The sliding bit is a bit stiff in the beginning but once you work it in it moves smoothly up & down. I strongly recommend it.

This is a heavy duty and rather useful copyholder. The dark grey colour scheme is "office boring" but standard, I suppose. The wide stand (with three rubber feet to stop it sliding around) is adjustable in four positions - 50, 60, 70 and 80 degrees from flat. The stand folds back on itself and clips into place to allow flat storage. The spring-loaded line guide is perfectly horizontal on my version. There's a spring-loaded clip at the top to hold the paperwork, and the clip adjusts vertically to take A4, foolscap and legal-sized paper. It really is well-designed and does everything you'd want from a copyholder.

I take minutes for a few meetings at work, so this is a useful thing to have to save neck and back strain when I'm typing my notes up.It's made from sturdy plastic and the tilt is adjustable to 50, 60, 70 or 80 degrees, depending on your personal preference. The guide ruler I tend to use just to hold the paper in place, but it is easily adjustable without being too loose. There is some grooving and a logo on the copyholder. Personally, I think this would be better flat as I like to tick of sections of notes as I write them up.Overall, a decent product at a reasonable price.

6.1.2019

From trusted brand Kensington, this is a plastic freestanding copyholder/clipboard, designed to hold papers in place securely by a computer for ease of typing. It is made of reasonably sturdy plastic, and can be positioned at different angles by adjusting the stand at the back. The clip holds a decent wad of paper, and the product has a securing band towards the bottom to keep papers held down flat when the copyholder is upright. It doesn't feel as solid as I expected from this brand but functions well and looks smart, good product.

This review concerns the Kensington InSight Plus Easel Copyholder Black - 62411, price at review £10.97.A basic easel style copyholder that whilst it does the job, lacks the usual Kensington high quality build. The folding base unit is equipped with a small rubberised foot, to maintain horizontal adhesion. The sliding line indicator stays horizontal but is rather stiff to relocate. In conclusion, does the job but sadly lacks the expected quality finish.

28.11.2018

A very well made useful copyholder. It is study when up, holds the paper in place and the line guide stays in place.I like the fact it doesn’t slide on my desk, its got rubber feet which stops it sliding.I’m using it in a school environment, to check and mark work, which is proving to be very useful and is stop neck ache from looking up and down at sheets the PC screen.A great well made product, very pleased, does what it should
