I deliver training workshops across the country. I have a pile of 'failed' flip chart stands. This one was delivered well packed, but the first reaction was "how light!". The stand is about as heavy as the cardboard box it came in. I have recently been using ones with steel frames: heavy,AND fragile as the frames are joined by flimsy plastic brackets.The other ones, with aluminium extending legs of rectangular cross section, , are made of chipboard and the fittings held by a combination of screws; (which come out as the chipboard crumbles around the holes under stress) and lightweight rivets which break from metal fatigue when the stand is regularly packed up and re-erected at different venues.

Was concerned by some of the negative reviews this board has received however it has just arrived and I can find no fault with it at all.Free delivery took 1 day, it arrived late afternoon so I didn't have to go to the post office to pick it up, packed out well with polystyrene and in perfect condition!legs are really easy to extend and lock off, all you have to do is loosen them all, lift the board to the height you want it and then lock them off. Easy one man job.Have yet to write on it but from my experience you can never get a board that will wipe completely clean with just the cloth so I cant see that I will have any problem with this,

This is light and portable despite being quite large; better than some of the really flimsy ones, and the writing surface is a decent quality. I like the way the leg lock goes on and off with a twist, so the leg length is fully adjustable, although this means it can be hard at first to get it evened up to stand straight. What would really improve it is a clip to hold the legs in place when you're transporting it folded flat, but you can't have everything. The pen tray can dislodge and drop when you're carrying the easel, as it just clips on and off, but it's fine in use. When this first arrived I thought a bit of the edge had broken off in transit but it turned out to be a corner that had just popped off and could be clipped back on again .

As others have commented, this is not the most robust or heavyweight flipchart stand out there. However it is light, simple to use and (hurrah) comes in a decent cardboard box which can double as a carry case (get a bungee cord to wrap around it to keep it shut when carrying it).The whiteboard itself is plastic and the legs are pretty slim, so if you get too vigorous with it, it may fall. I'm a cartoonist and regularly give talks and demonstrations. During a weekend workshop, this stood up fine and with a bit of care, should last a long time.PRO - lightweight, well-finished, looks professional, flipchart paper is easy to fit and sits under a spring-loaded flap. Excellent price.CONS - lightweight construction so care needed,

A lot sturdier than many such easels with very simple clip mechanisms for flip charts. Is 2 inches either side and six inches longer than standard flipchart pad. Good weight but is bulky - will go in the boot of most saloon or hatchbacks but needs 4 foot x 3 foot clearage, less if lying at an angle but then leaves little boot space thereafter. Combination of a pocket PC projector, tablet and then a notice board or better still a smart board in the office/at home would be much more portable but some audiences still like to see information collected on flip charts and indeed some of the best presenters still use acetates to capture their thoughts during their lectures,

I use this as a whiteboard in the corner of a room. My criteria here are, can I write on it daily, wipe it, rewrite and so forth. This board will let me do that very happily. £36 seems like good value for money to me. Yes it's a bit cheap and cheerful, but if you want to keep a whiteboard in a corner and not really move it then this will meet your needs. The portability on this thing isn't great, when adjusted the metal tube legs can bend if you let the weight of the whiteboard rest on a single one (this has happened to mine although it still stands fine!). For something portable that you'll transport daily, this could be it,

My main concern with this easel was weight - I'd gone to a large Office Supplies Shop to have a look at a similarly priced one and it was REALLY heavy, the board was made of Melamine - basically a thick slab of chipboard with plastic coating. I'd been unable to find out whether this flipchart easel was the same, but the back-board is only a few mm thick, and super light so great if, like me, you travel from venue to venue with it. Legs are easy to extend and very stable if you do them up tightly. The white-board works well and the hooks for the flipchart pad are width adjustable so as to accommodate any size pad. Arrived nice and quick too (2 days). Great product.

For a long time I have been looking for a simple aid to assist me in making various presentations to promote my subject. As funds were not exactly overflowing and my general ability very technical, I was looking for something simple and fairly inexpensive. The 5 Star Flipchart easel was exactly to type of thing that is ideally suited for what I needed. It is easy to set up with the legs being able to extend to different heights. Its dual purpose to be used as a board to write on as well as using it as a flipchart or even to stick posters on is very convenient for presentation as well as for teaching purposes.Altogether an excellent buy for the price.

I bought this to pop in my car and take with me on site visits as I often sit in on meetings or run training sessions. The flipchart easel arrived quickly and was packaged well, is easy to set up and the whiteboard element of it seems fine.My only small issue is the size - it is way bigger than an A1 pad and I struggled to get it in and out of my car boot (Vauxhall astra estate). I have now given up with it and left it as a present for one of my sites - I should have read the dimensions before ordering, I know!If you are looking for a big easel that goes very tall and won't be moved around much, then this does the job admirably!

Yes there might be better Flipchart easels on the market, but not at this price. I have given it 5 stars because I am looking at it as advertised and in terms of build quality at a real value for money price. Yes, others might feel a little sturdier but they are heavier to carry around and much more money. This fits the bill for me and time will tell as it gets used more often (twice at the time of this review), although it was bought for occassional use only. Good delivery times and well packaged.

It arrived quickly from Amazon - Very good condition; my only problem is how easily it falls over! This occured when I was cleaning it. The only other disadvantage is that the coloured pens - green, red and blue - I used didn't clean off with a dry cloth - but no problem cleaning off the black marker pen. Having said the above, both problems were overcome; Hold on the board when you wipe it and use warm soapy water to clean it when you use coloured pens!

I bought this a while ago but have just used it last week and think it is great! Am so pleased with it. It's sturdy but light enough for me to move it around, and easy to set up. The only problem is when I used the pen directly on the board (without using flip chart paper) it faded away so you couldn't really see what was written there. But I used the flip chart pads and it was perfect. Very happy with it. The price was amazing too. Thank you.

I had read numerous reviews and expected something flimsy. How wrong I was. I had chosen the grey flip chart as the legs looked slightly thicker. When it Arrived it was easy to assemble and wassurprisingly sturdy. I took it down and transported it to some training I was doing elsewhere in the car then reassembled it. I am very happy with my flip chart, andhave used both the white board and paper. I thi k it is verygood for the price

The easel is a great quality for price deal. It stands, is light and easy to carry, and arrived with shipment earlier that the due date. I haven't tried putting paper on it yet. It seems like the plastic pieces on top which will hold the paper are not that strong, so I will have to be very careful not to break them. I just bought the 5 Star Office Flipchart Pad Perforated 40 Sheets A1 Plain (Pack of 5) to see how it works out.

Ordered this to replace my previous heavy-duty metal easel that broke (the legs wouldn't stay fixed). Expected this to be somewhat flimsy in comparison, but it's not. It's also lightweight so can be moved easily when stood up, and the writing area is bigger that my previous one, but without it feeling enormous. I'm very pleased with it and, as it's so much better, I even wish I'd bought this the first time round.
