Very Addictive and challenging.Unlike the other Jewel Quest games this one follows a family tree from the present back through the ages and to progress in the game you have to complete each 'generation'.Each 'generation' has a number of characters and each character has between 4 and 5 games to their name. The games relating to that character have a common theme and as you progress through the games they get harder, not surprisingly. As each game in the level is completed you win a puzzle piece and the pieces can be placed in the blank portraits of the next generation. When a portrait is complete then you can play that charater's games. It's all very linear and there's no jumping forward until you've finished the 'generation'you're on (unless you know a cheat which I don't). Once a level is finished you can go back and play any game again, if you've a mind to.The games themselves are very varied and progressively get harder the further 'back in time' you go but, if you replay any game over and over to try and finish it, you are offered assistance in the form of extra time, lines, swaps etc. If, after all the extra help, you still can't finish the game you can opt to have unlimited time and, in some very difficult games, this is a must. Beware - if you're one for building up points then it will cost you points if you take the help.Once every level is completed you attain "expert" status and can replay any and all the games again but with harder settings. The background photos are beautiful and the boards are quite good too.I didn't bother with the music or sounds so cannot comment on these. All in all, this is by far the most value for money of any game I have played and highly recommend it.

If I could have given this game 10 out of 10 then I would have. This is our first Jewel Quest game and I will be getting others. It is an excellent game with many different challenges and completely addictive. It is the only game so far that both the other half and I have really enjoyed playing. Only he keeps getting stuck and wants me to help out! Lol. There is frequent muttering and the odd curse from his direction! He says I do this too. The extra time given if you have problems with individual games is very helpful if you can't complete them. There is lots of play left in this game and it is excellent value for money.

I am a great fan of Jewel Quest products and this edition has not disappointed. The familiar game strategy of swapping adjacent tiles to complete a chain of three or more matching tiles continues here. The story line follows a family tree and as you unlock higher branches the screens become more difficult, more intense, and more frustrating, to clear. The game has 35 stunning around-the-world scenes containing 175 plus unique Jewel Quest boards. As with similarly themed games the replay factor is high.

I am an avid fan of JQ games. This is really good value for money. It took quite a long time to complete & turn all the frames on family tree to silver, you then think that the game is completed, but not so. You can carry on and do it again, except this time it's harder, and the frames turn to gold. I haven't finished yet. It's a great challenge. You really get your moneys worth. Because it is a long game to start with, I had forgotten the screens so it is like playing a new game. Great value for money.

This game should have a government health warning on it, once you load it that is it, as you get into the game the world stops time flies by nothing matters only the game, i have never had so much fun with a computer game for menny years you get frustrated, you shout for joy as you win a game you have to buy to try i recommend this game one hundred and twenty percent for fun entertaining and all around game CG

The storyline on all the jewel quest games is totally daft, but it's not really got anything to do with the game. This is about matching jewels on increasingly difficult boards. Simple idea and totally addictive. Only one little gripe - I can't use full screen mode on my windows tablet, but when I take that off and it works fine. This is not the most challenging game in the world, but it's great fun.

I bought this from my local supermarket thinking it wouldn't take long to complete like the other Jewel Quest games. I was totally wrong, I played for about a couple of weeks then finally got to the last ancestor and had to give up as it became so much harder. I have put it away for the time being and will try and finish it (if I can!) at a later time, how about that for good value.

At first like all jewelquests this started off slow, so I thought I would get bored of it in a day. But as you go through the family tree it get more difficult with challenges that surprise you. We're used to the jewels buried under mud & rock, now there is ice which has to be melted, that's where am at now. Only on stage 3 I think so long way to go before the end.

If you liked the other Jewel Quest 'Challenges', I am sure you will have some more fun with this edition.I will not repeat what others have said, but do recommend this Avanquest title for 'Jewel' fanatics.Yes, it is one of those games where it is 'Just One More Try'.A worthwhile purchase to keep the 'leetle grey cells' churning.

Really enjoyed this, my first ever computer game, however as the title suggests, it is really addictive and if you have things that need to be done, DON'T TURN ON THE COMPUTER, because you will be there for much longer than you should be. Great fun and good exercise for the brain looking at how to solve the puzzles. Enjoy.

You sit down, you start playing, you realise it's 2am and you'll just have one more go. Sure, you've got to get up for work in a few hours, but....just one more go. Bit annoying with having to assemble parts of a puzzle, but maybe they're just making sure you don't get cramp from all the clicking.

I love match 3 games and I found this one great however I got to near the end and found it would not complete. After I sent the game back and deleted it from my laptop a friend told me how to complete it so I will have to but the game again as I found it a fantastic game to play

This is fun, the jewel drops get progressively more difficult and challenging and with every one I complete I tell myself 'just one more'. We might be in our 60's and 70's but we are quite addicted to a quickie, after gardening, between chores or before bed time. Great

I find this to be a very addictive game. This is the first one of this type that I have had. I will probably purchase another one. At times it can be frustrating when the time out symbol appears and you know that with the next move you will complete it. C'est la vie.

Excellent graphics and certainly makes one look for the items which you need to find as some are very craftily hidden. When you achieve the jewel board that is quite challenging and not very easy to complete. The game is challenging but can be achieved
