I have been a Jagged Alliance fan for a long time and was very excited to hear this was finally released after soooooo many years! I read the reviews and they were very mixed but I thought it was worth checking out.I have to say, overall it wasn't disappointing but there are elements that were disappointing too....1) The introduction of the realtime gameplay, though on surface is small, made a real big difference. The style of the game and tactics improved as a result. The 3D nature of the game improves it slightly and the "world map" is better too.2)I agree with other reviewers when they say they simplify EVERYTHING which will be good for new comers but not veterans. Recruiting is simplier and not so interesting, decisions on what to attack and how to attack is simplified which lessens the gaming experience, characters have less freedom on the map as simple small obsticles cant be overcomed (ie cant even jump over a small barrier or climb over a small wall), no character interactions and role playing aspects have been reduced to zero (ie conversations consists of clicking the first button without thinking)...etc etc...3) There are no difficulty level setting (which will be bad for beginners?).4) There are loads of annoying intro video which means you have to wait a while to actually get to the game. I just renamed these files so they no longer run.My biggest complaint is that the whole game is simplified but the 3D realtime game style makes up for this. It is hugely additive and I will be playing this for a long time! I hope the next version will give the developers time to "unsimplify" things again.Good game, highly recommend it.

I really like this game. There's a real shortage of good tactical / strategic military games for PC players and this fills that gap perfectly.I've enjoyed the Silent Storm, Men of War and X-Com games and this is is a similar vein, although not turn-based the option to stop the action and plan our your squad's moves is done really well. There are loads of weapons which can all be customised with attachments (scopes, silencers etc.). You can adopt stealth tactics or just go in all guns blazing (although if you're like me you try the stealthy approach, which'll soon turn into chaos). The game has got a few flaws, such as the annoyance of securing an area only to have the enemy move in as soon as your back is turned. However I still think it deserves 5 stars for being brave enough to be offer a more thoughtful and strategic game in an over-hyped Call of Duty dominated current games market. It's also fun to play with good combat.

I liked the earlier versions of this game and this one does not disappoint. Its easy to use and very compelling ( over 80 hours in a few weeks , there a couple of small draw backs.1- No way or repairing armor or clothes.2:- Characters getting stuck on people in game. But really only small points and over all a very good game I would recommend to any one :)Oh and try to use 7.62 ammo, 5.56 later on in the game does next to no damage!

Although not strictly turn-based or isometric this sticks closely to the ideas of the release way back in the 90s and rocks. Quite a few flaws but more than made up for by the unusual and fun gameplay. If you liked the original Fallout games then this may well satisfy you as a more contemporary substitute. It's not as funny or quirky but there are loads of weapons and tactics to explore. It's awesome.
