I have had mine for a year. Truly one of my favorite winter items! I use it for hiking in mountains, or walking around the city. Last year used it in Nepal for 2-week trek to Everest Base Camp. Not only did it keep me warm (and humidify the dry, high altitude air) - it kept the dust from the trail out of my nose and mouth! I also wore it while sleeping for added warmth (and again, the humidifier effect!). Just wore it two weeks ago on overnight in White Mountains in NH - great to keep your face warm while hiking, and also in the sleeping bag for your exposed face. Easily adjusts up to cover nose, or lower down for just mouth - or just neck. Wool does NOT build up odor - so stays amazingly fresh.Comfortable and smooth on skin. Warm. Easy to wash and hang to dry. Mine is a year old with heavy use and still good as new. Excellent construction. I would consider this an essential product for any winter outdoor activity. Two thumbs up!

Warm, versatile, fashionable, layer-able(!). I have 3 of these in different colours and take at least one with me (usually 2) when I head outdoors in the winter. Sometimes I wear one as a head band, and the other around my neck. Other times I pull the one around my neck up over the back of my toque, and across my mouth and nose for extra protection from the wind and cold. Especially when it is minus 20+C. I feel 'naked' if I don't have at least one with me when I head outside.Loose enough to be non-restrictive, tight enough to stay over mouth and nose when needed for cold/windy conditions.Excellent headgear when a hat is too warm.I also wear one under my bike helmet.Perfect to absorb perspiration. They are so fashionable that I wear one as an accent-like turtleneck item at work. Love these IB accessories and will likely get more in other colours as time goes by.

Thank you Icebreakers for the fast shipment of my two flexi chutes which I am using for two purposes, one for warmth and secondly for protection during the lockdown when I go out. I have bought similar products in the past, but since being introduced to your products whilst in London I am in awe of the quality, lightness and breathability as I love to feel warm without feeling overheated and suffocated by thickness and weight. The chutes are also great for travel , easy to pack, don't take up any room and if there is a strong wind you won't lose it like you would a scarf. I can pull it over my head, neck and face, it is so versatile and useful. One friend who introduced me to your products uses them under his motorcycle helmet in the winter. Amazing item, beautiful quality, worth the money and multi purpose. Thank you!

Great product. Keeps my nick, chin, cheeks, and nose nice and toasty. I find it breathes better than synthetic neck warmers. (when wearing heavy synthetic, heavy breathing can cause goggles to fog like crazy. The anti-stink properties of merino are also very important in this type of garment, because nothing really gets closer to your nose.Dries quickly , and feels dry when slightly wet. If at any time the part on you face gets noticeably wet from your breath, just spin it around so a dry part is on your face, and the other section should be dry shortly. The only issue I have is that there is a lot of fabric. The chute is quite long. This makes it more versatile I suppose, but for just over the nose,it does bunch up a bit at the neck. Still fits under my fully zipped shell though, so not a huge issue.

I love this, and its a great price too. This was around £30 in the skiing shop, so if you pay less than its a bargain. This is made out of the same merino that all the ice breaker stuff is made with. Its warm, its light, its NOT itchy, it does the job, the skin breathes but yet is still warm. I wore this, and many other Ice breaker products to Iceland in -11 temperatures. Covering the lower part of the face is a must in these places, and unless you want to look like mitchelin man you need something thin but that does the job. I used this, and pulled it up my face, and used this alone . I did also have a down jacket on, but around the neck this was perfect.Dont go for cotton, it doesnt work. This does.By the way, it DOES stretch, unless you have a sumo neck, this should fit fine ;-0

I've had mine for about a week, so not a whole lot of experience with it yet. However, I've managed to wear it as a neck gaitor, a hat and over my face in freezing temperatures and it handled all three modes with aplomb. It's not thick which is nice, but it's still warm. It's also fairly soft. I wore it biking over my lower face and it made an appreciable difference, though of course the inside gets wet from the condensation coming out of your mouth. But it dries quickly. Wearing it over my face, the material extended all the way down to my chest too. I also like the blue that I got. It subtly stands out to my eyes.I considered getting the heavier one but I'm glad I got this one as it seems to be doing the job and could potentially be useful for more than just winter.

I've had this for about a year, and in that time I have both walked and biked to University here in Canada nearly every day. This flexi chute works great as a neck warmer for mild days (about 10f in the winter), and also incredibly warm and comfortable around my face up to my eyes for colder days (-40f), which amazes me for being a single layer. The issue is that when the chute is up this high, which is about 80% of the time for me during the winter, my breathing inundates the fabric with moisture making it nearly impossible to breathe properly, like trying to breathe through a wet cloth! I know this isn't an issue with the traditional Buff brand, so I use that up to my eyes and this chute around my neck. The Marino wool is sure great but not perfect!

I bought this to use during my Europe backpacking trip as it's moving into winter. With only a small amount of luggage, I need clothing that is multi functional, stylish, light and easy maintenance. This chute fits all the requirements and I'm extremely happy with it.For cold weather I love that I can wear it as a headband, beanie, neck warmer, neck/head balaclava & mouth cover! My favourite thing is that when I wear it like a "beanie", part of it can hang down at the back so I don't feel that I look bald like I do with actual beanies. It's super light so I'm excited that this will also work great as a hiking sweatband / keep the hair off the face /prevent helmet hair when the weather moves back into summer.

This Chute does what I wanted it too, protect my neck and I wanted to be able to pull it up over my nose, and still be able to breathe through it. Its very nice and warm, and I strangely I dont react to this even though I do react to Icebreakers Headband. (The headband is a bit itchy for me). Go figure. I can pull it up over my nose no problem, but it is a bit too big on me so it doesnt stay up very well. The chute is also made up of two layers of fabric (It comes folded inside itself) and when you take a deep breath the inner layer clings to your nose. Maybe having the chute made of one thick layer as opposed to two thin ones would help with this.I might have to make it a bit tighter so itll stay up on my face.

Very happy with my first purchase from Icebreaker, their flexi chute. Was not sure what to expect from the merino wool but am now a convert. No longer am I going to wear long bulky woollen scarves. I pick up my chute, roll it onto my neck and hey presto! Instant warmth for the duration. Was a really cold wind last week and because of the flexible nature of the chute, I easily pulled it up over my face and warm again. I like the warmth it creates quickly; I like the lightness and compact size making it easy to forget you are wearing it and eat to carry when not; also like the great range of colours to chose from.100% pleased with my first order and recommended already to friends.

Have now bought several of these flexi chutes. They are great for skiing--not too thick, but very warm. It is possible to breath through these (at least for a few turns) if the weather turns very cold, unlike most neck gaiters. I am able to pull it over my head and under my helmet, similar to a balaclava, if conditions on the mountain change during the day. On snowy days there also seems to always be a dry spot, by turning, flipping, etc for my face due to its extra length. I love this neck gaiter so much I bought it for a skier friend who loves Icebreaker products. She now is raving about it. I also have Icebreaker's heavier neck gaiter, but only use it on the coldest of ski days.

My wife and daughters are perpetually trying to kill me by forcing me out into severe weather to shovel, run errands when they decree that the weather is too extreme for them or to check if the bear that they saw is actually a man-eater.I have survived and done so in comfort. It's also great for ice-fishing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and late season hunting. The Merino wool resists odor... even if your aromatherapy wife and kids borrow it because it is warm, light and soft. And it can be worn in multiple different configurations depending on temperature and headgear... yet... it's a tube... even your good-hearted, yet dim friend can't get it wrong.

Picked this up quite randomly in a running store and now it is among my favorite items! If the temperature is below 70 I rarely leave home without it. Great as a snood over wet hair post lap swim; essential to keep a chill off my neck and throat on a crisp bike ride; welcome ear warmer on a walk; and a grateful face protector when the thermometer dips to freezing!I am wishing it came in white so I could wear it to Lady Putter's and meet the all white attire requirement! Plus, white looks elegant with nearly all coat colors ... Might you make this available in cream, or natural?

I've been a big fan of the market leader of this type of neck-wrap - but I've not got on with any of their 'winter' options - I've found the fleece versions too itchy. The merino version is just perfect. Comfort - I forget it's there. Warm - it sits around my neck and happily pulls up over ears and face to seal away from rain and cold. The wool also seems to behave better in rain than polyester. The poly fabric fills up with rain and blocks breathing. I've been cycling a couple of times now in rain and this does not happen with this merino version. Yay! :)

This is great for being outdoors - it's tight enough to keep you warm without constricting. The material is quite thin being and long it's versatile in the same way a buff is. You can get good warmth by doubling it up round your neck, or somethign a bit cooler by letting it sit ruffled - it can also be warn as a hat, headband or pulled up to the nose to protect from windchap when skiing - I was really happy with this. THe only minor criticism is that it has a seam down it which is fine if you position it right, but can be irritating if you forget.
