As the temperature drops in NorCal, I wanted a lightweight, packable/pocketable neck warmer that could also double as a face mask. This feels luxurious and looks good on my neck, face or as a thick headband. I tried to wear this as a headband underneath my bike helmet and it seems to fit, though there is tiny bit of bunching at the back of my head (just because the cylindrical snood shape gathers.) Best thing about this is that the label says it's machine washable which is the bare minimum requirement I have for all the clothes I buy now (ain't nobody got time for fussy washing instructions!). I also bought the curry-brown-mustard one and am on the fence about keeping that colour in comparison since I think the grey is easier to match to my clothes.Overall,

Originally I got this for hiking and for my surprise also works better for running and trail running, even tho there is no tech involved for special breathability, it responds just better that other head tubes, neck gaiters, chutes and etc. that I had already. The merino is so gentle and soft to the touch and provides just the right amount of warm that I need for those early snowy morning runs and to hit those high mountains... also looks great in a every day cassual atair.Maybe for a more specialized running products I would recommend to add some reflective elements for dark runs.

Upon receiving my Apex Chute I was pleasantly surprised at the superior quality of the fabric and workmanship. I know, I know...its a tube of fabric right? Well yes, but it's all about the details. Perfect seams that don't scratch, soft smooth wool that breaths and wicks. It cools in the heat, it warms in the cold, it does all those amazing things wool does. I've been using Smartwool socks for years for the same reasons and don't know why I waited to get a wool neck gaiter. So glad I made this purchase. This chute is not cheap in any way and that makes it worth the money.

I'll have to see how it works when the real cold hits. Really I'm going to probably have my seanstress add some fur on the cheek area, inside. I need her to make a hole for my mouth as its claustrophobic having it enclosed. Having rosacea it's very difficult to find something that isn't itchy, and fits well so I can enjoy winter. Currently the pain is extreme on my face, even with the neoprene one I have, which I hate as I look like Hannibal Lector....so, I don't go out, certainly never ski or tube or snowshoe. I shall let you know how your chute works.

When I first received the Apex I thought it might be too light. I can't stand a cold neck so I always have it covered. I wear scarfs, neck gaiters and high neck zip ups. I put the Apex on tonite at -13C with a wind chill of -19C and never noticed the cold at all. Mostly standing around in the cold. It only occurred to me after the fact, that this neck gaiter did an excellent job, in that I was completely comfortable. My jacket was partially open as well. I usually have to zip up to augment whatever I have on my neck because I feel it. Not tonite.

This product is all that it says it is. We originally used these for our trip to Everest. And as a result of how well they performed we have used them ever since. To that end, we use both the thick and thin depending on the region of the world our hiking team is trekking. The dispatch of the product is fast and packaging is spot on. Overall, it's a great product worthy of recommendation especially in light of the fact there are so many fake and poor quality neck warmers on the market. This is the real deal and does the job propertly.

I love this product so much that this is my 2nd one! Every winter, I transition from my regular weight chute to this heavy weight because it provides extra warmth in freezing temperatures. Have used it from skiing, winter sailing, and winter cycling, to casual wear outside.I find it particularly good when blasted with cold winds (I tuck it up and over my nose to cover my face). The bonus is that it is extremely soft against the skin, and not bulky. It is a must-pack item for any winter trip. I have recommended to all my friends!

I love the feel of merino wool to keep my neck warm when I am out for a walk on a windy day or cross country skiing. And it’s not too bulky so you can still put up a hood on those cold windy days. I have it in navy and light grey so I can wear different colours with different colour jackets. With regards to size, I have skinny long neck and the apex chute is slightly loose on me but I usually have a half zip base layer on which is an additional neck warmer that fills in the space to protect me from wind and cold temperatures.

Those of us who live in cold and windy areas and who have pets that need exercise, it is a real challenge to find just the right clothing to make the walks do-able and enjoyable.When your neck is warm, you are warm all over! After hearing about Icebreaker products, and knowing the warmth of merino wool, I tried the Apex chute. Couldn't believe how comfortable it was, the many ways I could wear it, and that it doesn't take up lots of room like a scarf. Perfect layering item. Like it so much I bought SEVEN for Christmas gifts!

I was looking for something to block the winter chill on my morning bike commute and the apex chute is perfect. In my mind you can't beat the comfort of merino, but it's important to me that the item be soft and feel right, and the apex chute is both of those. When it's not too cold it is the perfect weight for keeping around my neck. And when the chill starts to really sting, it's very effective pulled up over my mouth and nose. And it stays in place, which is essential. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my hubby, since he has a lightweight one, and needed a heavier weight one for winter dog walks and such. He is 5'9" and average build & this fits well. It is slim fitting, but it's not uncomfortable. I tried it on and like the fit. I'm a 5'2" female, but my husband also says that it doesn't feel too tight or binding. In our opinion, neck bands need to be snug fitting, or there's no point in having them, especially in Alberta winters! We love that it's warm, but lightweight.

Bought this for my Wife with skiing in mind but pinched it one day to use while out walking on the cliffs with a sub zero windchill. What really impressed me was how the wind didn't get through to chill the neck and kept me warm and snug the whole way round. Fit is on the small size, so if you've got more shoulders than neck this might not be for you, if it was a bit more generous in the material used I would would have giving it 5 stars, easy. But overall a very good product.

This neck warmer is high quality and keeps warm. I like the size of it. I'm a petite woman with a small neck and this sits comfortably under my chin. It's also a perfect size for covering my face. The only thing I'm bummed about is that as an eyeglasses wearer, at below zero and when I cover my face with it, it creates condensation on my glasses and I can't see. However this is probably a problem with all people with glasses so can't really blame on the design.

This is for my husband who works in a cool room. This is his second one which was 3 years old and worn neatly every day. He loves it, it keeps him warm but not overheated or sweaty like a man made fibre would. The merino is lovely and soft and doesn’t aggravate his neck. Only one thing is that at the start it is a bit snug over his head but he does have a larger head and neck than most people. Recommend this product highly

The yellow colour is lovely and it's super soft and warm. It fits on the tighter side but extremely comfortably on the 6ft+ man.Bought as a gift for brother-in-law who lives and adventures in Sweden. They're a huge fan of Icebreaker since it is wonderful quality and warm. He's looking forward to staying warm in his lovely yellow neck warmer out in the park and on bike rides with his toddler over this winter.
