I wanted a new lead for my chihuahua and this one had the tape extension as opposed to the one like string. This makes sure that when she meets her friends and gets tangled doesn't act like cheese wire. I find these types of extension dog leads a lot safer and less likely to cut her legs, my legs or any peoples when they inevitably tangle when she meets her friends. It is a bit tricky to lock and unlock for me as have problems with my hands but works in the way I require, giving my dog extra room to walk when she has to stay on-lead. This has a good sized handle and not too heavy, can fit in my back pocket of my Jeans and have dropped it a few times (accidentally) without it breaking.

I put off getting a retractable lead for my puppy after reading dreadful stories of damage caused by these devices to dog and owner. The need to keep my pup safe while letting her go far enough to be recalled led me to purchasing this one after research and discussion with a dog trainer. This works perfectly well, the extra touch of the added 'collar' is a good idea, not that I imagine my little Cockapoo will break her lead. It works really well and feels robust with a smooth mechanism. I got quickly used to drawing her back in when near any dangers by swinging my arm forward and back and using the controls.

We've used these leads for our 2 dogs for years and never had a problem with the security of the tape. However, you will get damage if it gets tangled on branches and brambles or pooch decides to nibble it! Short of use a steel cable, you have to accept it will wear over time. If the dog is near to the weight limit, get the next size up.One of our leads got a big nick in the tape. With one day delivery, the replacement arrived in time for the morning walk! Great stuff - and for the doubters out there, I have no connection to Amazon except as a customer.

Great price for this product,a lot cheaper than the high street and surprisingly easy to use as a first timer with this type of lead.Good size hand grip for an average mans hand size and very popular with our Border Terrier who likes the freedom to potter further on if he wants.Ignore the odd horror story banded around about the dangers of these types of leads,in the hands of a sensible owner they are great to use and surpringly easy to learn how to quickly shorten the lead and to also flick from fixed to extendable.Top buy.

After using corded extending lead and getting more knots in it than made it worthwhile was advised by another dog owner to get a tape one instead. Very happy to find this on Amazon at a fraction of cost of high street, and after a couple of months use can report it's proved to be robust and copes well with an excitable, energetic Pomeranian. It does vet knots sometimes, but much easier to undo from a tape lead. Very good product and value for money.

I bought it in June 2017 and it lasted 3 years. I think that is quite decent. Recently the tape has just snapped, I don't recall my doggy chewing on it, but maybe he did actually. I like that it is lightweight (sometimes these retractable leads can be really heavy, check the weight before you buy). It works as it should have, it wasn't blocking too much. Overal I'm going to buy 2nd one.

Having previously wasted my money on a un known cheap brand lead I decided to stick with Flexi rather than waste more money. Buy cheap buy twice! I was not disappointed with sticking with Flexi. It does everything it should do! It is easy to hold, smooth to use ie lock and hold and undo, and seems sturdy. So far very pleased with my purchase.

My dog is nearly 12 years old and this is only the third lead I've bought him (having lost one, the second was looking a bit 'tired'), so I know these are long-lasting. It's the first one I've had with tape rather than a cord and, although it's easily twisted when extended, I think I prefer the fact that the tape fully retracts. Great value.

I bought two 5 metre retractable lead (Yellow And Green) ... I gave one to my daughter and her hubby to take dog out for walk . They’re say it’s easy to hold and lock when need to .. find no problem and so happy with these . I recommended to anyone to get these . I would rate 10 out of 10 .. other spare lead I keep it . I love this .

Brilliant leads! I have two dogs that pull on lead when they see another dog/rabbit/pheasant and I am confident that these leads will keep them safe and under control. Great breaking and locking system, and comfortable handle. I’ve only ever bought Flexi leads, great products.

perfect for my little terrier, this lead is ideal, normal leads kept getting caught up in her legs and I was forever untangling and making the lead shorterThis retractable lead does everything I need to releases and retract with a slide button on the handle.

This is so much better than an ordinary lead-no slack lead to keep control of. Works perfectly. Just a press of the (conveniently) placed button keeps the dog under control at all times. Different leads for various sized dogs. Brilliant.

Well made, feels very strong. It's replacing one of the same make I bought 11 years ago which is only now starting to slip in the mechanism. Well worth the money. I like the design and choices of colour too. Very comfortable to hold.

I have purchased this lead for my cocker spaniel, and I love it. Just what I wanted, simple but yet quite pretty at the same time. It’s a lot cheap from off amazon then it was in any pet shop near me to, saving me over £5

This is the second I have owned, the original spring having snapped after a couple of years used every day.Have tried others but the 'Brake Button' is invaluable and (for us) puts this far and away above the rest.
