I first noticed Buffs some years ago and was not convinced. Heavily marketed in places like Millets, Blacks, and Cotswold Camping they seemed very much an overpriced fashion accessory for trendy backpacking hipsters, and not something to be seen in as a self respecting gentleman over 30!Being a fan of merino wool however I recently stumbled across this woollen version which caused me to reconsider.The principle attraction was it's neat compactness; here was a garment professing similar functions to a scarf and more, yet which tucks down to about the size of a cigarette packet. Still somewhat sceptical I resolved to splash out on a very conservative grey version.I have to say I'm delighted I gave it a try.

I bought this on a whim. It's still high summer, and I haven't field tested it, so take this review with a pinch of salt.I like merino wool. It's expensive, it doesn't last as long or dry as quicky as other fibres, and some fine it too itchy, but what you gain is versatility. It keeps you warm, even when wet, and or let's you perspire freely without getting damp or smelly, even if you don't wash it for days.So I thought it would make sense to convince a simple, versatile fabric with a simple, versatile garment design.The combination of thin fabric and long tube give you the option of wearing it as a light single layer or heavier double layer.The main modes of use for me would be:- hat- face /

Bought two of the buffs and arrived at different times. Lose fitting and stretchy material that is lovely and soft to touch. My last buff I still have, and I have had it around 30 years. I swear by the name and never had an issues. Arrived in good recyclable packaging which is a bonus. Size is one size, the buffs fit myself and my husband and neighbour. I would say they would fit majority of necks, with respect chunky necks may have an issue, getting it over the head maybe a problem, however on a cheery note, the buffs do stretch. I am very pleased, lightweight and thin as it should be, keep warm around the neck in cooler months, and warm in winter.I have bought several now and all brilliant.

I purchased this to use as a face covering when out and about. Ordered at the price of £18.48 during the start of August, which has probably gone up due to others having a similar idea during COVID. (Folded in two with a filter fabric in-between, creating a more comfortable 3 layer covering).The wool itself is soft against the skin, however, the label is large (roughly 5-8cm long by 2cm wide) and very annoying. I ended up cutting the label out but made a tiny hole whilst doing so, a quick few stitches of thread solved that. This makes the product non-returnable due to my own damage and my fear of germs spreading. It would have been a better design decision to add a tear-out label or none at all.

I never had a buff before so I said I’ll give it a try, mostly for work as a neck warmer as I am not normally a beanie/hat kinda girl but working in a chilled environment makes you change your preferences pretty quick. Since it arrived, I’ve been wearing it almost non stop, at work and at home as a beanie.It’s the most comfortable headwear I have ever owned, it’s lightweight and not bulky but at the same time so nice and warm.It fits perfectly and doesn’t “crush” my head as other beanies did, mostly after a couple of hours of wearing them.I honestly can say I can’t be without one anymore and today I ordered a second one to wear as a neck warmer

This is an excellent scarf/snood/whatever you want to call it. I have now bought three as they make a handy neck warmer that you can just pull up over your mouth and nose as a comfortable face mask during this pandemic.However I felt compelled to say that originally I bought this one as "Ruby" in colour and what appeared to be basically a maroon/ruby coloured scarf in the pictures. It is not ruby/maroon as a base colour it is fundamentally purple. The wife actually liked it so she now has this one and I bought another in moss green.

I've had a number of buffs in the past and really like the product. This merino wool version is particularly comfy and great for blocking out the wind without the bulk of a full size scarf. I find that doubling it over gives additional warmth while still maintaining a decent length. They're very versatile and take up little to no room in a pack or pocket. While I mostly use them as a neck scarf, i often carry 2 and in really cold weather I have used one as an extra layer below my woolly hat for a little extra heat. Would recommend.

I bought this out of impulse because another buff I own I don't know how but it deteriorated on my last trekking adventure. I love white but this one is red. Me and red colours? I don't know what to say except that it looks amazing around my neck (I'm a male).As a personal preference I choose merino wool over other materials. It just feels amazing on my skin. Very pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend Buff. If you never had one, just go with it and try it. Will for sure not dissapoint.

Lovely colour, this is my fourth merino wool buff and I love them. Warm but breathable and not too tight (I mostly wear it as a headband, but also as a scarf when rising my motorbike). They wash really well and dry quickly. My only complaint is why oh why does Amazon sometimes use such excessive packaging?! A massive box for something that could easily have fitted in a Jiffy bag or small box like those used for books. Such a waste!

I saw this product in an outdoor clothing/equipment shop & liked it but thought it was expensive. Via Amazon Market Place i found the same product from Knee Down at a much better price. It is brilliant and I wear it frequently, it is very flexible as you can wear as a neck scarf or hood to keep your ears and chin warm. i was so impressed I bought one for my husband.

I have 6 Buffs and this is the first Merino wool one that I have bought. I wear it on my motorbike and it's warmer than the original Buffs. It is also a little longer but I find it quite wide and a little baggy after a few wears and is easily displaced when putting my helmet on. It tightens back up after washing but the original Buffs stay tight after wearing.

This is an original Buff product, what I like about their products is that even if you put it very wrong it still looks casual. I gave it to my girl when she was cold, I keep it in my pocket when it's not very cold, I take it with me on my trips being so small. One single little downside, being wool, sometimes when I sweat it gets itchy.

I haven't actually tried this particular buff as it's a gift for a friend but I've had other buff products and been very happy with them. The delivery was great too. My issue is with the packaging. It came in a large, oblong cardboard box, stuffed with brown paper; such a waste of paper!

Nice merino buff - keeps the cold and wind off my neck and face. Easy to use as a hat. Lightweight thin material but still plenty warm enough for the average British winter day. I wouldn't use it as a makeshift face covering/mask though, due to the abovementioned thin material quality.

I have usually problem with scarfs and the hats because I have a very sensitive skin, but I am absolutely fine with this merino scarf! I use it as a hat also and no problem! Just one thing, it's quit big for me so I am not sure if there are two sizes and I picked wrong one.
