Brought two of these for my grandchildren aged 6 and 10. They love them, although they don't play with them for very long at one time. The scarab hexbugs are very lifelike in the way they scurry around and move very fast. They are more successful at changing direction when they hit an obstruction on a hard surface (e.g. tiled or wooden floor) than when on carpet, but are better at this than I expected. Quite robust and well built for the price. Lots of fun.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to my son as amusement and distraction for his two young children (5yrs and 2yrs old). Having tried it out before posting it seemed surprisingly sturdy and very lively. I've since had an email from my sun including the line "The hexbug was a big hit with everyone!!" so " Great fun for all the family " would seem to sum it all up.

Excellent customer service provided as I had requested it to posted as soon as possible and the team were quick and friendly with their responses.I had bought this item as a present for my nephew aged 6 and he loved it! The scarab works best on a hard floor but the adults were getting just as much amusement out of it as the kids! Would definitely recommend.

My little brothers (2 and 5 years old) had a different style hexbug before and they loved it, however they broke it on the first day of getting it. They are so cool and cheap I thought I'd get another 2 to replace it and I'm sure it will be much appreciated.I received a blue and a red one.I must say the red bug looks a little scary!

Bought for someone, and they liked the product but was not overly fussed about it.But a nice design and really acts like a real bug too, would recommend to children, etc.Came nicely packaged batteries worked perfectly, but would not buy a product again it's a bit expensive for what it really is.(MOTOR SYSTEM CONTROLLED TOY).Brad.

I bought this for my cat Daisy, as I saw a cat playing with one in a clip on U tube. This was so much better than I expected, it's so realistic, it's creepy, it really does scuttle just like a bug, and my carpet was no obstacle for it as it run away. I'm pretty sure Daisy is going to love her new Christmas present this year.

My son loved chasing it around the floor and even stood on it a couple of times as he is only 3. I have to say I am amazed how strong it is as it did not break. The batteries are dead now and it would be better if it had an AAA battery as opposed to 3 little watch batteries. Good product though.

Purchased as a present for our grandson for Christmas - seems to be what he wants. Lets hope he has fun with it. Bought a strip of 10 button batteries to go with this, just in case it gets overused and runs out of power. It does come with batteries included (3) though.

You wouldn't believe how much fun my nephew (not to mention fully grown men) had with this thing! Totally freaked the dog out too :) It's kinda creepy because it really moves like a little scarab, but a really cool, well made and inexpensive gift for kids.

It's very, very loud. Bought it to occupy the cat when she wanted to play but I was in the middle of something.It did occupy the cat for a while, but the noise drove me crazy. Now sits on the bookshelf looking all futuristic and cool.

My parents cat LOVES this thing. He doesn't attack it, but he follows it round intently. Just make sure you supervise on any pets or small children, the legs do seem like they would snap off easily and become a choking hazard.

Bought for my 7-year old son who loves these things. Horribly realistic but also very clever. It scuttles everywhere noisily and even gets itself back on its feet when turned on its back. I shudder but my son giggles non-stop!

This item was well received at Christmas however the novelty soon wore off and it has since been passed to the children of a family friend along with the other two that I bought for grown up members of my family

Arrived on time but packaging damaged by being a bit crushed. The item was a gift for someone else. Toy appeared in tact. Can’t comment on quality or longevity hence 4 stars but they are generally good quality

Excellent bug. Bought for a birthday gift for a little boy who loves crawly critters, and it was a hit!! Very fast moving.The one that came was blue, not what the picture shows but still very happy
