Not sure why people are so negative. This robot dog does what it says on the box and is a reasonable price (when comparing it with furby's, hatchimals and the like). My 8 year old played with this a lot over Christmas and never had any problems. It does take a while to learn the various functions, so kids which are younger may struggle to use it and remember all the commands - the favourite feature for us has been the 'sit' and 'back flip' which has been used very many times with no problems. It is quite noisy, but also easy to turn off when the adults get a headache, which is good!

My daughter always wanted to adopt a pet but unfortunately due to allergies we couldn't get her the pets she always wanted. A few months back my wife told me about this teksta dog and how it reponds to commands and you can teach it how to do tricks and it recognises your voice, and I was like yeah that's a bit too good to be true. However when we gave our daughter this dog amazingly it filled her void of not having a pet because amazingly!!!! This dog does all the stuff my wife mentioned.Nowadays every place we visit teksta is always with us. (she called him Max)

I bought the Tekta Voice Recognition Robot Puppy Dog for my 8yr old granddaughter, before I bought this I looked up on the reviews of this product on the Argos reviews, I noticed a lot of negative reviews about the Robot Puppy, it was off putting, I decided to buy it anyway and was delighted with the response from my granddaughter and her mother, both saying it was a brilliant toy and was shocked at the multiple things the puppy robot dog could perform. There were no problems what so ever.

I bought this to help my 3yo get overcome his fears of tiny (real) dogs. He loves this doggy, especially when Teksta flips because this is the best feature. The only thing he gets annoyed with is doggy doesn't chase the ball.I have read the instructions but there are some features I forget to use because they are accessed through different buttons and commands. Tried downloading the mobile app but it's out of date for this current model. Independent vids on YouTube helped a great deal.

My daughter has wanted this toy for several years but we always thought it too pricey for what it was. Reduced in price this year so we bought it and she’s really delighted!Took a while to get it fully under her control, but it now recognises her voice & does all tricks as advertised (better at doing back flips on the wooden floor than on a rug). Haven’t explored pairing with a tablet/phone yet but I’m sure it won’t be long.At this new price it’s definitely value for money!

My 9 year old daughter fell in love with this toy and requested it for her birthday. She enjoys playing with it and has had fun learning the various commands. I feel that the play value is limited by what the robot can and can't do, but she is happy! One real downside is that the dog needs a smooth, flat surface (like a tiled or laminate floor) in order to walk, but getting the dog to perform a backflip on that floor resulted in scratches on the dog's face.

It is fun and the kids love it; looks durable and not too annoying; can wiggle it's years and has a bone that it can "eat" and a ball to "play". However it has annoying name; doesn't know when it is about to hit the wall; the "voice control" recuires first to press and hold it's nose (repeat for eacj command and same applies for hand gestures). And then the only trick it does is sit and flip over. I mean it is fun, but very limited and thus way overpriced!

I gave this to my 6 year old brother as part of his birthday celebrations as he had mentioned it previously & also really wants a pet. Unfortunately he is unable to have a real pet at the moment so i bought him this. He has not stopped playing with it since and treats it as if it were a real dog! Very happy with this and the quick and easy service which was provided by Argos. Have already recommended this to colleagues at work with little ones for christmas!

I bought it for my niece and she is loving it. It has a ton of features and mods and is almost like a little puppy albeit slightly less smart. Only downside is one must press different buttons to change to different mods and if you wanna do it with app you can only do it few inches away from the dog itself which kinda kills the purpose of remote app.But overall a great purchase with rather sturdy built quality which will definitely last quite some time.

Already had model before this for our youngest grandaughter, her big cousin saw that one and said that was what SHE wanted for Christmas, grandad researched a new one and found this updated version so bought 2 for our girls in France = 2 very happy little girls on Christmas morning in France, this version does far more than the original and more interactive, my only downside are the eyes ! Not as nice as version 1

Bought for my sons for Xmas. They’ve enjoyed it but it hasn’t grabbed their attention as much I thought it would. The toy does seem to obey some commands but not all. This could be that we aren’t doing it right, I’m not sure. I think this would be a great toy for the right age group, probably 6-8 years. My boys are a little older and have gotten bored of it quite quickly.

Our four year old granddaughter asked for a robot dog for Christmas. She is very pleased with it. My only reservation about it is that it does not always recognise her voice - her eleven year old sister has more success at getting it to obey commands. This is possibly because an older child’s voice is more consistent. Great fun, though, for young and old!

A very well received present for a child, which left us adults fascinated just as much as the kids. Took quite a while to learn how to command it properly, as there seemed to be a knack to it, but still very enjoyable toy which needs some adult supervision at first. Solid quality and very clever over all, as well as being really cute!

Oh what a happy child I have now. He has found a new friend, he needs no other. Teksta does have a good array of noises, lights and actions and seems robust enough to withstand my 6 year old who has made him a 'lead' to drag him around by. The cats are a little disturbed but otherwise happy that my son has a new distraction.
