We bought one of these a long time ago (not on this Amazon account, though) together with a smaller 2-perch one. We ended up preferring the smaller one even though we had to refill it more often, mainly because when it's raining, a 4-perch feeder will always have one port facing the incoming rain! The 2-perch ones are far less prone to getting the seed growing inside the feeder and making it useless until it is cleared out. Depending on the seed mix, it seems as though it can get very unappetising very quickly and the birds just stop using that port. That said, the 2-perch version is really good. Both suffer from the flimsy lids. If you're not that careful with things they won't last very long at all, although we have managed to get these to last for 10 years or so. Once the little plastic "hinge" gives up the ghost you pretty much have to get another (because fixing one when they're so cheap is a waste of life). One thing that is certain is that the birds much prefer these feeders to even others in the Gardman range, and we reckon it's because the perches are very slightly fluted along the sides and allow those little feet to get a far better grip while feeding (or fighting the other birds off!). I'm really surprised by the number of feeders with sleek metal perches that even acrobats like the various blue/great/marsh/coal/willow etc. tits we get around here will avoid in favour of the cheap & cheerful green feeder. The two-perch ones can also be found cheaply enough to consider them as disposable things to recycle.Since we're buying them for the birds we tend to go with the ones they like rather than the smart corporate (!) ones out there! If you have them in a sheltered spot I'd say that the 4-perch one may be okay, for our purposes the 2-perch ones work better since the rain comes in predominantly from one direction, so we can position them to keep the rain out.

This seed feeder is fantastic. I bought the 2 port version and just simply had to get the 4 port version. I have had a lot of seeds feeders in my time but the birds like this one best, expecially the green finches due the the feeder sticks, they are extra long meaning the birds feel more comfortable sitting so generally feed for longer. I have had extremely expensive feeders but this one is the best. Very highly recomended and shocked as to how well priced they are.

It looks flimsy, but I live on the north east coast and it has stood up well to a lot of buffeting by the wind from the North Sea. The birds seem to like it too. I hung it from my front porch above the front door so that we could watch the birds without endangering their lives - we have six cats and they can't get up there! The cats have endless fun trying, though. The little birds seem to know they're safe and ignore them completely.

This is a great bird feeder. I had the smaller version before which lasted me a good few years until finally the lid snapped off which is the only flaw that i can see. With the extra holes i was attracting more than the usual amount of tits and finches. The container is easy to clean. Like I said earlier the only flaw is the lid which will eventually snap at the hinge but it should still last a good few years with roper care

A good general purpose feeder for small wild birds. Easy to re-fill and hang. Only criticism would be that it seems to be impossible to remove all the green plastic parts, specifically the top and bottom. This makes cleaning the feeder regularly (to avoid spreading pests/disease) a hassle. Good feeder otherwise.

This is the most conventional bird feeder. Two points to make, the peanuts tend to get jammed so that the nuts dont fall through, so they need an occasional shake. Other thing if unprotected the squirrels will make very short work of wrecking it. if you do not have a squirrel problem its fine.

I have lots of bird feeders in the garden, different colours but the bight green gardman feeders attract the birds better than any of the others. I swap them round and still the birds feed from the green ones in preference to the others. The gardman feeders are sturdy and easy to clean.

Purchased in order to tempt the birds back into our garden, and it has worked. Not exotic ones but the sparrows thank me for it! AND the blackbirds who struggle cause of their larger size. Easy to fill up and so easy for the birds to get at the feed.Recommended!

It's only taken two days for the birds in my mother's garden to discover her new bird feeder, and they seem very happy with two of these, filled with sunflower kernels and niger seeds. I haven't tried washing them yet, but they look reasonably easy to deal with

This is a really large feeder. Would have preferred smaller but my fault for not checking size.Good design but looks like may be difficult to clean as some seed goes down into the rim at the bottom.Good opening and rods for birds to perch on to feed.

Bought to replace feeder with broken perch. Feeding holes larger than old one and was initially a little disappointed as the birds avoided it. However, they are now accustomed to it, as proven by the amount of sunflower hearts they get through.

This feeder is great as it has 4 perches for the birds. Most feeders only have 2, so it’s great to accommodate twice as many of our feathered friends! The flip top cap is easy to open and close. NB only use a light touch when closing it.

Seems to be as described. I haven’t seen any birds yet but can’t imagine that’s due to the feeder. Don’t think it will be that durable as its thin plastic but as it hasn’t been very windy yet so I can’t comment on that! Good so far!

Always get these, easy to fill & clean. People, remember to clean your feeder every now and then as A) Basic hygiene, & to prevent Trichomonosis, heartbreaking to see this when it's completely unnecessary.

Tried other more expensive feeders but always return to this one as the birds really love it. I have two so I czz as n always have one spare whilst I wash and air dry the other. Good value for money!
