The Galt giant floor farm puzzle is a brightly coloured and well-illustrated good quality puzzle comprising 30 large, thick board pieces marketed as being suitable for 3 to 6 year olds though my 30 month old grand daughter has been able to manage quite a bit of it with some help. We have been able to have quite a conversation about the noises the animals or the tractor made as she completed it and turned the whole process into a story time as well as puzzle time. When completed the puzzle takes up 24”x36” floor or table space and includes 8 pieces which can also be used to draw round and colour in – good feature for the older children in the age range and extends the usefulness of the puzzle. The pieces have a wipe clean surface which is almost mandatory for this age groups toys! The box it comes in is also well made and sturdy so will hold up to packing and unpacking the pieces before and after playtime. In my opinion when you buy a Galt toy you can be assured of money well spent as they pay attention to detail and know the needs and wants of their young customers - 5*

When a puzzle claims to be a GIANT floor puzzle I would expect a significant part of the floor to be covered with it. This in fact measures around 60cm in height by 90cm in width. It is large but it is definitely not a giant. That aside, the puzzle is well made with lots of large pieces, 30 in all. It feels robust and will probably go the distance. I particularly like the fact that it is a puzzle within a puzzle. The main big animal shapes such as the horse, sheep pig duck and so on are actually the puzzle within the puzzle, if that makes sense. Put the puzzle together and you will see exact cut out shapes for these animals. The tractor is also included in this. This is ideal for younger children, rather than having to put the whole thing together they can just put the animal shapes back into the puzzle. It is a nice touch. All in all it is a very nice puzzle and will keep the little ones interested. My only minor issue with it is the claim that it is giant.

I got this puzzle to entertain visiting grandchildren, and it has been a great success. The pieces are a good size for little hands, and fit together firmly, and the animal shapes are fun. A six-year-old put it together in minutes with no help, and I feel that, as usual, the manufacturers have over-estimated the age group for his product. But two three-year-olds loved it, and in fact it was so successful that I no longer have it, having relinquished it to three-year-old grandson. I think most two-year-olds could probably manange it, and get more use out of it than would older children, but would recommend it for children up to age five. It would have been better if the puzzle could have been made of wood,as it would have lasted longer, but the cardboard is sturdy, and the puzzle comes in a handy carrying case. The price, too is reasonable. Altogether, a very nice product.

The age recommendations for this jigsaw are 3-6 years but my 2 year old absolutely adores it and particularly likes the animal shaped pieces that can double up as a template for tracing around and for playing with separately in imaginative play development. Initially I would complete the jigsaw minus the template pieces, which he would then complete with a great sense of achievement and pleasure, but it wasn't long before he had progressed to doing the whole thing with minimal assistance. The jigsaw pieces are made of stiff thick cardboard which are pretty robust, but sadly are subject to fraying on the edges after repeated usage. The farmyard scene is fun (we also have the jungle version)and overall this jigsaw is a big hit with my lad. As an educational development aid for little ones you can't go wrong with this jigsaw.

Another floor puzzle? Not quite but yes. 30 super large pieces with selected animals and shapes (tractor, sheep etc) set as a complete piece. The shapes are not standard for the rest of the puzzle which makes the smaller mind (in this case 2 1/2) work a bit harder rather than guess and memorise and it seems to work by encouraging her to make the puzzle and leave the set shapes until the end when she chooses to then try and locate the shape to the piece in her hand.Very nice, good thick pieces that go together well but more importantly come apart without fear so far of pulling a piece apart (breaking!).The idea with the shapes is also the ability to use as a stencil which we will try at a later age.Tested on a 2 1/2 year old girl and a 7 year old boy - both loved playing together and helping each other out.

Our son has never really got on with smaller puzzles for his age (3 years) but when this came he was super excited and loved putting it together with his dad. Instead of traditional puzzle of just having to match very random bits of pictures several pieces are whole animals which our son loved trying to fit in with the puzzle. It gave him something to focus on. Our son has asked to do the puzzle several itme since we got it and have no doubt he will continue to enjoy putting the puzzle together. This is a great puzzle to help develope problem solving skills both with an adult for younger children and independently for slightly older children. Both a fun and educational product.

My 4 year old daughter was delighted with this jigsaw puzzle. The 36 pieces are challenging enough without her getting frustrated and therefore is manageable. My daughter enjoys doing jigsaws together as a game or as a quiet game alone. The illustration is full of detail and gives us an opportunity to have a chat about the scene and I can use it as an educational aid. Galt toys always seem to be excellent quality and ths jigsaw is nicely chunky, the large pieces are good for small hands to manipulate. Also the box that the jigsaw comes in is sturdy, so no squashed jigsaw box.Overall it's a great toy for a preschool child.

In these days of iPads etc kids are fed their imagination instead of using it. I was a bit hesitant about getting this giant floor puzzle but it was received so positively by our nephews that we are seriously thinking about getting another one. The pieces are very large and tactile and key animals are shaped properly so you can see where they fit in. For a lively 2 year old and quiet 4 year old this puzzle kept them pre-occupied for hours and is always out.

A very robust and good sized puzzle which my friends 4 year old quickly took to. The really good thing is that a lot of the main animals and the tractor are in one piece so the child can play with them before putting in the puzzle. Its a good size, slightly larger than a piece of A1 paper and strong enough for a small child to jump on after completing for the third time in a row! The carry case is also very good so the child can be encouraged to tidy away.

I got this for my four year old daughter and it has provided excellent play value. As well as being a large and interesting jigsaw the interesting elements of the puzzle such as the animals and the tractor are each individual pieces that can be used as stencils to create colouring in pictures. Our daughter loved this aspect of the puzzle.I know it is described as giant but it really is big so you need a decent play space to complete it.

This is good value. Gave it to my friend's 2 year old boy - it has gone down really well. It's quite complex for a child of his age (it's aimed at 3+) but he enjoyed playing with it - it is a good challenge for him at the moment and he enjoys having someone help. I don't think it will be long before he can manage it on his own. The quality of the product is good. I like the art - it is colourful and fun. All up - a great product.

Bought this jigsaw as a 3rd birthday present. It is quite challenging as the pieces are not the usual square shape, but this adds to the fun of finding the animal pieces. It's a great size and the thick cardboard means it will last a long time. Even the box is heavy duty, ideal for storing the pieces, unlike some of the other flimsy boxes which collapse at the sides when 'accidentally' stood on by little feet! A great buy!

Really nice puzzle for the kids. The pieces are big enough for them to handle and also to work out were to go. Equally important they are sturdy enough not to get damaged easy (Worst thing you could have with a puzzle is the ends getting dog eared so they cant fit properly) They are also reasonably child proof (food, dribble etc so far so good) Nice bright colours too.

I bought this puzzle for my 4 year old grand daughter who is autistic and she just loves it. It is a good starter puzzle due to the large pieces but you do need a good bit of floor or a large table. I have gone on to purchase more of these puzzles with slightly smaller and more pieces and my grand daughter just loves them. I would certainly recommend these puzzles.

Great jigsaw with nice bright and colourful pieces. The children I work with liked fitting in the animals and saying what sounds they made. This is an easy puzzle for young children to use. The pieces are made of strong card which does not bend easy and can take a lot of rough handling. I would recommend this puzzle and would buy other versions in the future.
