The Galt giant floor jungle puzzle is a brightly coloured, eye catching and well-illustrated puzzle comprising 30 large, thick board pieces marketed as being suitable for 3 to 6 year olds. My 33 month old grand daughter is able to complete it with some help and loves putting it together several times in succession on each occasion, such is her sense of achievement and enjoyment. When completed, the puzzle takes up 24”x36” floor or table space and includes 8 pieces which can also be used to draw round and colour in – good feature for the older children in the age range and extends the usefulness of the puzzle. The pieces have a wipe clean surface which is almost mandatory for this age groups toys! The box it comes in is also well made and sturdy so will hold up to packing and unpacking the pieces before and after playtime. In my opinion when you buy a Galt toy you can be assured of money well spent as they pay attention to detail and know the needs and wants of their young customers - we are delighted with this puzzle and award it 5* accordingly.

Although not exactly 'giant', this puzzle is pretty big at at 60cm by 90cm (2ft by 3 ft). There's only 30 pieces, so each piece is quite large and easy for a young child to handle. My 5 year nephew was excited at getting the puzzle as a casual present and we built it straight away on the front room carpet. The pieces are quite sturdy and fit together quite well without any danger of bending and having the eight animals cut-out and slotting in separately is a nice touch. The puzzle looked good when completed and broke up easily, and my nephew liked it, so 5* (he is very fond of jigsaw puzzles though). Not sure the toy has enough wow factor for a main present (for which he chose Mutant Ninja Turtle figures + vehicle)and those under 5 will probably need adult help to make it (which is nice), but it seems quite good value at £10. His mum thought that given the size of the puzzle pieces it would be better suited to a 3 year old though, who would play with it for longer. The jigsaw box looks good and is sturdy as well.

The Galt Giant Floor Puzzles are certainly an interesting bunch. Aside from the vivid scenary and vibrant colours, the part I find interesting about these is the large animal pieces which are integrated into the rest of the puzzle - rather than having 3-5 jigsaw pieces for each jungle animal, a single large piece is slotted in instead, around the smaller, more standard jigsaw pieces. Along with the strange shapes of the pieces, it's certainly a change from my jigsaw making days of 20 plus years ago.We have an unusually packed, rainforest/jungle scene depicted, none of the animals are partaking in slaughter of any kind, and we have crocs, lions, hippo, snakes Tec all frolicking and eating. The pieces are large and sturdy. My kids favourite part at the moment is leaving all the large animal pieces till the end, then working out where they are supposed to be placed, and laughing at my reactions when they deliberately get each animal wrong. All in all, a colourful, fun puzzle for families with young children.

We got this puzzle for when our young nephews come round. The pieces are nice and big, so no issues with swallowing the pieces. The elephant is about 15 cm x 20 cm.What is really good is that a lot of the pieces are whole animals, so it's much easier and fun even when it's all in pieces for younger ones who haven't grasped the idea of jigsaws quite yet.The pieces 0.3 cm thick so should be pretty durable although pieces that have thinner areas, ie the giraffes neck will be susceptible to being bent.Pretty decent value for not much more than a tenner.*EDIT 19/8/14*My Nephews loved playing with this jigsaw last weekend. They loved the animals and it kept their attention and all pieces remained in tact.Just one piece got slightly damaged at the corner edge where the picture just started to lift. It will probably glue back down.

The age recommendations for this jigsaw are 3-6 years but my 2 year old absolutely adores it and particularly likes the animal shaped pieces that can double up as a template for tracing around and for playing with separately in imaginative play development. Initially I would complete the jigsaw minus the template pieces, which he would then complete with a great sense of achievement and pleasure, but it wasn't long before he had progressed to doing the whole thing with minimal assistance. The jigsaw pieces are made of stiff thick cardboard which are pretty robust, but sadly are subject to fraying on the edges after repeated usage. The jungle scene is fun (we also have the farmyard version)and overall this jigsaw is a big hit with my lad. As an educational development aid for little ones you can't go wrong with this jigsaw.

I have soon to be 4 year old daughter who shows a good intuitive grasp of jigsaws. They are currently her toy of choice at toy-shops, and it's great to be able to hunker down and guide her as she sees the patterns and links the pieces. This is a 30 piece puzzle with large pieces and bold colours of a cartoonish jungle scene. Eight of the pieces are in the shape of animals, which adds to the fun.I notice my daughter struggles to place the larger pieces more than smaller standard size, probably because she finds them harder to maneuver. Not really a sticking point however. It was great to name the animals with her as we and after we completed the puzzle.A good acquisition for the puzzle mindedchild.

Galt is a respected toy maker Brand that's been around a long time. I think this floor puzzle is of good quality and considering it is made of thick cardboard it will be robust enough to take some months of play.I don't think it will last too long around a teething toddler though. There are 8 template animals, which are in one piece, these can be played with separately. All have smiley faces. The puzzle itself is bright and cheerful and makes an attractive complete picture. The individual pieces are large and chunky so will suit tiny hands and will not get easily lost.I think this is a good play item for 3-5 year olds. Also a good play item for a child to do with a friend, sibling or adult.

We got this for our 2.5 year old son. He loves animals, so thought he would love this puzzle, and he does. Firstly the quality is excellent, and despite out 8 month getting hold of the pieces they withstand all sorts of hammerings. The Jigsaw pieces are perfect size for a 2+ year old, and will help motor skills develop. The animals are realistic for a cartoon puzzle, and the puzzle is very bright and colourful which makes it appealing to all ages of children. I would definitley reccomend this puzzle for youbng children. Matthew Glenn

Pretty jigsaw. Chunky design and a good size, 24 x 36 inches, which makes each one of the 30 pieces easy to assemble and perfect for little fingers to manage. The 8 major pieces, the animals, can be lifted out of the puzzle and played with separately. Colours are bright, vibrant, and a jungle theme is always popular. Jigsaw recommended for the 3 to 6 year age group and has the extra benefit of a wipe clean surface. Just be careful if your child is teething. The puzzle is made of card and won't stand too much chewing!.

The puzzle has lots of distinguishing features that help a child to find just the right piece. It is a great challenge for my 3 year old daughter who loves the bright colours and the very realistic looking animals. The joy of these puzzles are that the main feature animals are whole and my daughter loves putting the framework together and then finishing off with these final pieces. This is the 3rd Galt Floor puzzle we own and will not be the last ones we buy!

What a lovely floor puzzle this is.We bought it for a birthday present for a four year old boy ( who has a six year old sister !!! )They were absolutely thrilled to bits with it. The best recommendation you could get.The colours are bold and vibrant making the animals fun.The pieces are easy wipe so no bother about spills etc.We may buy the other sets for some other kids as we are so pleased with this.My recommendation.....Buy it.

My 2 year old daughter loves the giant floor puzzles from Galt. They're so bright and colourful and the cut-out pieces are a great feature. The quality is great. My daughter has managed to bend a couple of pieces, but she is only 2 so she does sometimes kneel or stand on the pieces to reach as the puzzle is so large. That's nothing to do with the quality though. My daughter has been doing this puzzle over and over again recently.

Love GALT puzzles! All kids in my family love them. Quality is good and price is very appealing. Got it as a Christmas present and the little one just loves it. Just one little minus was that some pieces were bent in the box so when you put the puzzle together it was bit frustrating for the little one that the piece wasn't holding together as it was sticking up from the floor. But otherwise it was a great purchase.

This giant jungle puzzle is great for toddlers, the pieces are big and chunky and will withstand a fair amount of throwing around. The colours are vibrant and the picture captivating for youngsters. A great introduction to some slightly more exotic animals than your traditional farmyard fare and very reasonably priced.Overall I can't really fault this product and have to award the maximum five stars!

Unfortunately, this is a bit old for my twins (who are only eleven months old), but my nephew is the perfect age for this. It's a good chunky jigsaw puzzle, with bright colours. The animals on it are whole, which makes it a little easier for small kids to complete the puzzle, although I would say it's probably too straightforward for older children.Overall, though, recommended for small children.
