I was a bit hesitant to take the plunge and buy one for home use, but as the local stationers who had done this service for me previously has closed down & with working from home depriving me of access to a commercial version I went ahead and bought this after some research on Amazon.Happy I did as worked straight out of the box and following the simple instructions pages are passing through easily and all have sealed perfectly. It may help that I have also gone with Fellows own laminating sheets, but these did seem a very good price on Amazon too, so was not a cost issue.Small bit of advice for anyone using for the first time would be to stand the machine on something like a chopping boardin order to protect whatever surface you stand it on a it can get quite hot and may cause damage to any delicate surfaces and take your time lining up the page as it enters the machine to ensue it starts out straight (there are 2 line markers at the page edges) as any twist will just get worse as it passes through the laminator.

At this price (under fifty pounds) it makes sense to buy an A3 laminator because it also laminates A4 and smaller documents (an A4 laminator can't fit A3 paper). This Fellowes Spectra A3 laminator is a budget machine but it is very fit for purpose. I noticed that it feels hotter than my previous laminator and it produces excellent results with pouches up to 125 microns. If you like heavier duty pouches then this Spectra is not for you. So, it is a one heat setting, no frills laminator that takes about four minutes to get hot enough to use - and it does not beep to let you know when it is ready for action (a green light comes on instead). My A4 laminator is now redundant.UP-DATE SEPT 2016.Still going strong and getting a lot of daily use in a busy office.UP-DATE FEB 2017 - Must have put thousands of sheets through this laminator by now. No problems at all.

This is a good laminator that works well to laminate A3 and A4 sheets. It beeps once it's ready after a few minutes. I like the fact that it has a sleep mode that happens if you leave it on for thirty minutes without using. I'm always wondering off printing things and coming back to the laminator so this is especially good for me!It has two heat settings, and the one that you choose will depend on the thickness of your pouches (see the front of your laminating pouches). You can use a cardboard carrier in this laminator if you want to, it prevents the pouch going in wonky or ensures it comes out flat. This is the second Fellowes laminator that I've used and both have been great. If you do put your laminating pouch in wonky, then it's east to release it for the machine.

I have had the opportunity (through home and work) to use a variety of laminators of various makes and have found that you really can't beat Fellowes when it comes to quality. This being an A3 laminator, I was expecting it to be larger so was pleasantly surprised to find such a compact machine .I have included phtots with a 30cm/12" ruler to give an idea of the size of the machine. I much prefer to have an A3 laminator as it gives greater flexibility over the A4 models. This claims to be jam free and during my usage I can confirm that it has lived up to its promise. It's nice to get free laminating pouches included in the box even though they are only A4 - however given the compact size of thebox I don't see how they could have gotten A3 pouches in there!

Now we understand each other, we get on fine. The instructions are straightforward as is operating it, but I had a bit of a problem. I have 100 A3 posters to laminate and need to get them done quickly. (Currently having a coffee break!) On No. 6 it just stopped half way through a sheet. It's hot in here and assuming we were both overheating, I turned it off for 5 minutes to cool and put it by an open window. Now I do 5 at a time, turn it off for 5 minutes and it's fine.In fact very good. I expect it will be better in the winter. 10/10!

This has worked fine so far with none of the jams and corner curling problems I was having with my old and basic Texet machine. My main reason for choosing the Spectra was the 'Release' function lever which enables realignment and prevents jams. Happily I've not needed to use this feature yet but it's reassuring to have. The 'Auto Shut Off' function (after 30 minutes) could also be useful when forgetting to switch it off.

Bought as a backup for my current Fellowes laminator. My daughter is a primary school teacher so my current Fellowes laminator is in almost constant use so a backup for emergencies is essential. So what to buy, naturally another Fellowes. Let's hope it sits in the box for a long time. Saying that, I took it out of the box, switched on and laminated a large number of sheets - worked perfectly.

Great laminator. My first one to own, so thought I'd go with a decent brand and one that could cope with thicker sheets. So far it has worked very well. A couple of pouches have gone through and got creased in the middle but I suspect this is more to do with what I am laminating rather than the product itself. Now I tend to hold up the sheet as it goes into the machine, just in case.

Looked at reviews and it was difficult to judge between products, bought this one and is the first one I have used. Yes it does take a while to warm up around 5 mins I would guess, but this is no problem for me as I organise and print what I need while the laminator is warming up. The key message is using the punches in the pack it does a great job. Would recommend.

Have just laminated 40 A4 posters and it works a treat. No jams, no fuss. It takes up to 125 microns, so will laminate 250 micron pouches (2 x 125) which are stiff. A4 feeds short edge first (portrait) so top edge bonded pouches work best, side ones can catch when going into rollers but only had a couple bend. Very pleased so far.

I needed this to make a communication book for my son. It is brilliant! Super easy to use and I laminated well over 100 pages on the first go. I've since used it to laminate some of his drawings and certificates. No problems at all heated up quick and done the job really well. Thank you

Bought to replace a 20+yr old Fellowes laminator which stopped heating. My how technology has moved on. So much better than the old one which gave excellent service. No longer need to use a cardboard carrier. Does not leave air bubbles. Very pleased with my purchase.

So far so good. It's states that it is for home use but I bought it for school and it's still alive after a few months which is much better than the more expensive business use model we bought prior to it. We haven't had any paper jams yet- a minor miracle!

This was actually to replace another laminator that had ceased to work. Mostly used for signage at work. No problems, does its job well, and its very useful to be able to release the paper and feed it in again if it gets stuck or skewed.

This is a high quality laminator for the price. It laminated well and i didn’t use the high end pouches. It’s not as fast as the school one but it’s an appropriate speed for light home use. It heats up quick and doesn’t overheat.
