When this arrived, I just knew by the box it meant business. Very well built judging by the overall design of the item and certainly more robust than the last one I brought that just never quite managed to do as it was supposed to do as in you would put about five items through to laminate and the next one would come out wrinkled up..then the next one would be okay, do a few more then after a while, another wrinkled one! - would think it was perhaps the thermostat playing up but it wasn't cheap, a well known brand and very dodgy to say the least.. Now this one we are reviewing: its well made, with assorted options for doing various weight/size lamination pouches and after doing half a dozen items of assorted sizes/thicknesses,it passed with flying colours. I left it on for about twenty minutes afterwards, being new etc.., to see would it be okay after a break. The answer is yes - it performs wonderfully well after 'standing' as I passed through another eighteen items and not a wrinkle in sight, thanks!. I think the secret to 'good laminating' is to get the machine to the proper heat after warm up and then proceed but judging by the precise instructions supplied, you really could not go wrong if you follow it by the letter and not 'guess work' as in some cases I have seen over the years in assorted work locations. This is a very made machine, nice layout of the basic and not too many controls and works very well due to it's 'HeatGuard Technology' feature that is a Fellowes innovation by all accounts. I think it's understated in saying its for a small office type of use as so far in the the short space of time I have used it, it seems very capable to do anything, if common sense is applied. I would rate this 10/10 for value and for doing exactly what it says on the box - laminate.

I am a regular but light user of Laminators and so have not tested this machine to destruction. My findings so far,It has a very good build quality, really solid and nice to handle, which is actually the norm for Fellowes laminators. It heats up in just a few minutes, which is quicker than I do, and is simple and straightforward to operate. The controls are flush mounted on the top and look smart. There are three buttons to choose the thickness in microns [75, 100, 125] and a cold use optionNow the $64,000 question, does it work? The answer is yes, perfectly. It is cool to touch and so far I have not had a problem with any of my work including some credit card and small photo size as well asconventional A4.There is a jam release button but so far I have not a single jam. They also include a packet of laminates to get you going but I already have a substantial supply and so have not opened this yet.In summary then, this is a well-made high quality machine that works well.It is simple to use, cool to touch and I have not experienced any problems what so ever.Well-done Fellowes.

I also own a Fellowes Cosmic 2 A3 laminator which I have had for 1 year + so it was interesting to be able to compare to this Saturn 2+. I am a light home user and tend tyo use it for preserving worthwhile pieces of kids work.Interestingly there are a number of buttons on the Saturn 2+ to select the pouch thickness (measured in microns), this effectively adjusts the heat. I found the Saturn performs easy to use and heat up time was very similar.I have not used cold laminating yet so cannot comment. One area I ws surprised on was the overall size of the A4 laminator was that it was only about 5cm shorter, so given the flexibilty the larger model offers (especially for kids artwork)I would seriously consider selecting the A3 model.

This Fellowes A4 small office laminator is compact and well built. It heats up quickly and can laminate A4/A5/A6. It is built to be Jam free and so far I have not had any jams. It is very suitable for the home office as it is small and portable. It uses varied thickness lamination papers. It is cool to touch thanks to the Heat Guard Technology, which keeps the heat inside so that the laminator is cool on the outside. It is a very good product. Fellowes make quality and durable products, and this is no exception. This is a very good buy for a small office- home or otherwise. I like it very much and would gladly recommend it.

It takes 5 minutes and 34 seconds for this Fellowes laminator to heat up to the first setting (75 micron thick pouch). Nothing else in my office takes that long to start/boil/copy/print...That said, this is a very well-made piece of equipment and easy to use. Slip the A4/A5/A6 document into the clear laminate pouch and the machine gently grabs it and pulls it through. Not so hot that you can't touch it immediately and a good finish with no bubbles or distortions.UP-DATE SEPT 2014 - This machine is solid and very reliable. I've put thousands of laminating pouches through it for over a year now.

I spent quite a lot of hours searching for a laminator - I needed one for personal and work purposes but didn't want to break the bank as they seem to come very cheap or very expensive. Lots of people seemed to like this one which is mid range, so I decided to buy it. I've not used it much and still learning how to use it, but so far it seems OK and laminates well - as long as the paper you want to laminate is not too thick.

This is a brilliant laminator. I had it going for well over an hour and a half and it produced brilliant laminated cards with no signs of anything not being bonded. Excellent especially when you compare it to my cheaper laminator, I think this is a case of getting what you pay for!

After using a slightly cheaper model and having a series of difficulties with it when trying to cut a few corners, I bought this model and have found it to be excellent. You have a choice of heat settings and it looks and feels like a proper laminator, not a cheap alternative.

I concur with most rave reviews. This some very handy piece of hardware that does the job immaculately. So it needs some warm-up time. Doesn't every heat source?Tried to laminate a 1-mm magnetic sheet. No go. Guess that's about the limit. It never got stuck though!

This is the only laminator I've ever used so I have nothing to compare it with, but on the basis of its performance and what I need it for at home - I love it!

Just got the machine and already used it! About 5 mins to heat up, a smooth process, comes out warm and not too hot. Very pleased with my purchase

Prior to this laminator I was using the very cheap and cheerful

Quite adequate for our needs. Takes a while to warm up though.
