Ordered the brown pearwood version but out of stock so opted for the black wood as an alternative. Pen looks fantastic, the bright chrome fittings contrasting perfectly with the wooden barrel, the ergonomic design is pleasing to the eye as well as comfortable to hold, and the sprung clip is a great idea, giving you the flexibility to attach easily to shirt or jacket pocket, or even a thicker diary or organiser cover.It is a delight to use, a little smaller than I expected, and fits perfectly into my hand when writing - feels solid but not too heavy at all. The mechanism requires just a gentle twist of the chrome top to operate and the supplied refill writes smoothly and consistently.

This is my second pen of this type in 6 years, my first pen last five years with daily use.As such, replacing it with the same pen was an easy decision.Pros -1. It is of medium size but it is extremely ergonomic to hold (thanks to the thicker center of the pen).2. The build quality is excellent and just enough pressure is required to turn the swivel top which secures nicely into place.3. The flow from the ballpoint is as you would expect and flawless in its execution.4. The look and feel of the pen is excellent in that it has an executive appearance to it.5. It is of solid weight without feeling heavy.Cons -One minor complaint,

I bought this pen for work. Going from a S/S parker jotter, I'm amazed at how comfortable the cigar shape of this pen is in my hand. My fingers rarely slip, and they certainly don't cramp like they used to after long writing sessions. I've really fallen for the quality of the ink and ballpoint as well. It is super-smooth in my opinion, and while I was a little unsure about getting a pen with a slightly broader point, the line width and deep colour is a really nice change from Parker M black refills. Just write with both side by side and you'll see the difference from a mile off. Big fan of this pen. If you're looking for a quality everyday carry pen, this is a good choice.

Nicely balanced and very elegant. This pen has a superior finish and a nice chunky feel to it. Although not to all tastes. The spring loaded clip is ingenious and gives a good grip to whatever it is gripping, be it a pocket or t shirt.The only slight fault with this pen is a lack of grip on the barrel when your hands are wet or greasy, the tapering shape only adds to the slippage down the barrel. Not really suited to outdoor or kitchen environments but perfect for the office or home.

Love this pen. This is the second one I've had as the first one was stolen and I missed it so much I felt I had to get another. It is lovely to write with and just feels like the really good quality item that it is, typical quality German build. Looks good, writes beautifully, what more can you ask of a pen?

Superb quality as are all Faber-Castell products, Made from real Pearwood and chrome ends and pocket clip,Also takes Parker refills if you can't find Faber-Castell ones
