This pen looks very nice, thanks to the pearwood finish. Certainly not a generic chrome and black look that quite alot of fountain pens can be.If I were to be ultra critical, I would say the grip is a little small and when you go to grip the pen ready to write, it is not instinctive whether to use the grip - wooden part or both.Although this has not happened to me, if you do have an ink explosion it could be quite disastrous given the real wood finish. This is not the first time I have heard of Faber Castell leaking and indeed, I have had a Faber leak on me quite spectacularly (thankfully not this one!)I purchased the broad nib and I am very glad I did as it is just about perfect to be.

This writes smoothly and is not as picky about quality of paper as some of my other fountain pens. I also like the wooden part, which looks great. The downsides are: (1) there seems to be a tiny leakage between the narrow strip between the wood and the nib, so I have to take care not to touch that bit if I want to keep my fingers clean. (2) The bit between the wood and the nib often unscrews itself and comes loose, so I have to tighten it and in the process, get ink on my fingers. It is annoying, but the pen writes so well and looks so good it is still my preferred choice of pen in the office.

I just received this pen! It's absolutely fabulous. I love it! I have a couple of fountain pens, including Waterman Expert, Perspective, and Carene and a Parker Ingenuity. But this is the best fountain pen I've ever used. Stylish (the wood touch is absolutely gorgeous), extremely smooth (no irritating skipping), and always reliable. I would recommend this pen to anyone who wants to try the Faber Castell brand or looking for a stylish fountain pen.

Superb pen. The feel of wood, which doesn't slip in your hand is wonderful. It writes smoothly and effortlessly and you can't ask for more than this from a fountain pen. Faber-Castell have been making fountain pens for a long time and really know their business. It is supplied with an ink cartridge and a converter for bottle ink. I had the medium nib version. I really recommend this pen.

A lovely modern looking fountain pen. One of a series in the ambition Opart range. The barrel is a novice plastic with a heavy metal cap and steel nib. Looks expensive, writes smoothly and takes international ink cartridges or converter to use bottled ink. Great quality and value from a big name brand. It makes me smile when I write with it. Love it.

Extra-fine nib makes writing on a wider range of paper a breeze (even standard quality copy paper). Slimline design and beautiful resin shaft make for a great writing experience

Bought this for a birthday present for someone who loves using a fountain pen (and no she is not a pensioner). It was greatly appreciated and is beautiful to write with.

Great pen to write with & look at. Well built and comes with an inkwell adapter. Slightly different dimensions to the accompanying pencil, but a good pair.

This is a well-balanced fountain pen which is a pleasure to use. The pear shaft is a lovely colour and feels wonderful.Good value for everyday use.

Very comfortable writing. Wooden design gives a natural feel. Overall one of my top or favourite fountain pens at moment.
