The graphics are beautiful, the sound immersive, and its growing at a rate that makes now the best time to join the Shattered Lands.Every month or so there is a Live Update to EQ2 adding new content - each month I'm just more and more impressed. They're listening to the community and adding the things we want (sometimes they're a bit slow about it - but with 250k players thats a lot of requests).The Combat Upgrade that everyone feared (and a few people hated) was actually for the best and makes for a really fun gaming experience.The second expansion pack, Kingdom of Sky, is out Feb 21.Don't believe the propaganda, Everquest 2 has turned into a cracking game.

Amazing expansion adding much awaited continuing fun for the higher level player.However, do NOT buy the Perfect Partner deal Amazon are offering as Deserts includes the original EQ2 game software in it (and also confirms this on the box cover - enlarge screenshot to see for yourself). If you already own EQ2 then it has the facility to just be an expension. If not its the full thing.Highly recommended for level 40+ players that want more fun. No need to buy until you hit 40th as there is nothing for you pre 40 in this expansion.Awesome job SOE, keep it up.

I've been playing EQ2 since launch and have to say that even though some people think the game had a rocky start, it has now grown into a classic. Sooooo much has been added since launch. Apart from 1(soon to be 2) expansions and 2 adventure packs there have been 19(so far) big updates. Each update has made the game that little bit better. Bags of depth, bags of customisation and awesome graphics. An absolute MUST HAVE for any self respecting MMORPG player.
