Now that I have it in my hands I'm torn with this Gulfmaster. I started thinking about a new watch last month, bonus on its way :-) I've been sure I wanted to get an ABC watch for my more 'outdoors side', the functions seemed great for my needs, but what sold it was the tide function and it's a G-Shock. So I pulled the trigger on one.So to the watch:Looks…I liked it, the blue bezel looks good except the strange over/under numbers; I was led to believe the blue is only meant for the Japanese market, a pinch of salt is probably needed with that one.Still a little worried that the bezel will pick up dents and scuffs over time.Crystal face – Highly reflective,in some conditions you cannot read the watch without doing a wrist dance.Dial – A little confused and overly complicated, CASIO, any need for the City's to be around the edge they could have been shown on the LED, the Tide/Baro inner dial not as readable as I would have hoped.Lume – It’s one of the biggest issues I have with this watch, part missing at digits 5,6,7,9,11, 10 (almost all gone), I found it hard to find the orientation of the hands during the night and it doesn’t glow for long, this along with the quite alarm precludes it from a 'bedside clock' function. The strap is a disappointment, hard to describe, it soft and comfortable, but after wearing NATO, steel and leather it just feels a little ‘cheap’ I just wish I could swap it out.Usability…I haven’t tried all the functions yet, but here are my views on the ones I have. The Manual – downloaded the PDF in the end just for readability, confusing and very bad at explaining the functions correctly, if at all.Alarm is very quiet don’t expect it to wake you from a heavy slumber or hear it on deck at sea.Tide Graph - Unfortunately the "Tide Graph" isn't a tide graph at all but is a tiny half dial indicator in the upper left quadrant of the watch face that shows a swing from low too high too low over a very small arc of movement. This will certainly not satisfy anyone who needs tidal information, hence my second disappointment.CASIO, what marketing guru told you a 60-minute limit to countdown timer is fine on an ABC watch, it isn’t.Moon Age - If you're a werewolf it's very practical countdown timer (+/- one day). Even though the watch uses this info to determine tide heights, I would have preferred a moon phase display in the LED segment.Upon reading through the module 5371 document:No maximum / minimum altitude. No cumulative ascent / descent. No RECORD mode.No altitude record of duration, date, and time.Does this matter to you?I couldn’t find this watch at any local dealers to check it out, and it isn’t faulty so I won’t send it back, the supplier was cheaper than elsewhere and it was delivered very quickly, so not their fault I am torn with this watch. I must say I glad I didn't pay the full UK retail price for this watch.Update:Just found out that CASIO have launched the new GWN-Q1000 looks like they have addressed some of the issues, certainly the dial looks cleaner. I should pack my watch up and flip it. Oh well back to my trusty Seiko.Update: 21/07 - I found during hot weather the strap makes my wrist sweat. I am now going to flip this watch, I cannot live with it's flaws any longer.A sad day.

Three years ago I bought this handsome Casio for my husband. He's thrilled with it. It's radio controlled with just about everything an active man would need for outdoor use including fishing for Barometer, Tide-Time, Moon Phase, Altimeter (works in conjunction with Barometer), and is Solar Powered, even from dim light such as a candle. The Barometer has an up/down scale on its outer / bezel ring. It is very easy to set up, both for local time and international time.It is incredibly accurate, bang on to the second thanks to radio control towers across the world. You can depend on it.It's taken a lot of punishment, been submersed, dropped, shake - but not stirred one bit. Hubby has had Rolex,Seiko and a number of other watches, but he has such an emotional attachment to it that he says it's always had a place in his heart. It is beautiful to look at. Little dark blue highlights, decoration around all the dials. Its light is powered by LED emitters, of which you can choose one or two depending on brightness. The length of illumination can be adjusted to suit.Another outstanding feature is its hour hand and minute hand can move so that the whole of the dial can be read! The hands automatically revert to current time after a few seconds. Amazing!Setting up could not be easier when checked out on You Tube, though there is a PDF that is much more easily read than the (thick!) instruction book supplied. The watch came next day delivery and was already set up. The watch strap is very comfortable with a strap protector that is an attractive sanitized stainless steel.Everything about this watch is rugged. It is dependable, water resistant, very shockproofAlthough this splendid timepiece is "Currently unavailable", it can still be bought from Amazon, or, is you shop around. This first quality Casio watch is by far one of the most stylish, dependable and rugged. It would make an absolutely fabulous present!

Received on time and as advertised, great service. The watch has more features than I expected and the main features are far more involved without being too complex. Calibration is good as well, again more accurate that I thought it might be. I only have a small wrist but the watch fits snug and doesn't look too big. Overall very pleased and well worth the money

fiddly to set up, backlight weak...but overall a great watch. bombproof, i get asked about it frequently. no batteries (thanks god) auto sets when its been in the drawer. this is a special piece of kit, hugely capable, does the job. you will not go wrong with one of these. chunky, but so light it defies belief...this is a pro watch.
