After losing my last remote release, I was happy to find a new one on Amazon for a fraction of the cost other retailers were asking for this Genuine Canon product.It arrived promptly and in excellent condition, and I have been using ever since( about a month)with no problems. It is a little tighter plugging it in and taking it out of the socket than my previous remote, but this does not seem to have affected either the camera's socket or the release plug. I have attached a few images taken with this remote, so you can see for yourself it works perfectly.

I was not sure when I received the item, it was a genuine new Canon product.The silver cover on the plug was loose and had to be glued back into place, and the plug itself looked as if it had been used and tried to be put in the wrong way as there were marks on the plug resembling the 3 pin layout.However it works fine and for the price was a good buy.

Not much to add, it works, it does the job in conjunction with a tripod, which any photographer would expect it to do, that is remotely operate the camera without shaking it.But remember, any long exposure photos will require something to stabilise the camera, along with the remote release.You can't use one without the other.

It does what it says thereby illuminating any camera shake as you can remotely release the shutter without touching the camera.It is well made and there may be cheaper third party ones out there, but having had a few problems in the past with a third party device I decided to stick with Canon.

If you're not sure if this works with your camera, do check your camera's user manual. The functionality is a bit basic given the price, and also the cable is really short unless you're standing directly behind the camera. Four stars given the price.

A simple and efficient bit of equipment which does exactly what it says on the tin. Expensive for what it is therefore 4 not 5 stars
