My FRPS wife, 40yrs professional, likes the finish from our Canon Pixma printer, because she can match what she sees on the monitor. Having spent 5 years as a specialist colour developer as well for a renowned develop/print company, she knows when a colour looks right. When you pay £1000 for a professional printer, you need high quality ink to produce the finished article.This gives high quality consistant colour, is not expensive compared to its lifespan, it merits the description 'Does what it says on the can'.

More expensive then 3rd party 'compatible' inks, but I've never found a 3rd party ink that can provide a consistent colour or print consistently without banding. Gone back to always using canon inks for my canon printer, even if they work out somewhat more expensive. Pay for the extra quality.

I sell prints so stick with the makers ink/paper/profiles. I use a 9500Mk11, Photoshop Cs6 and Canon Platinum Pro with Canons PT1 profile and get really good results. They will always be pricey but they are the best.
