I'm very happy with this very light, pocket-sized hard drive, which so far has done everything I've asked of it.Set up is easy, though I've chosen not to use the offered encryption as I have other options in that regard. It performs back-ups easily and swiftly via a USB 3.0, but works well on a 2.0 also. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its extended life, but thought enough of it to buy one for a friend, so that's as high a recommendation as I can offer.

I have a few Buffalo mini stations, they are great and have given good service, I chose this one in red so it would stand out from the others which are black. It is plug and play, and worked straight out of the box for me. That is until I deleted what I think must have been some download already on the station. I did follow the instruction which came with it and downloaded I think it was NTFS (for windows) and all worked fine since.

I bought a Buffalo External Drive years ago and it has always worked perfectly (and still does). So I had no hesitation buying a new 1TB version.It is used to store all my 12 years old sons things on without filling up a laptop unnecessarily and so he can watch his videos, store his pictures, do his homework etc from any device in the house..... PerfectThe sellers delivery time was excellent too........ 100% happy

Arrived on time and was quickly and easily connected to my computer with no problems. I have since downloaded over 400Gb of data onto the drive without any mishap. Reading and writing to the drive has been quick and without problems. So far I am more than happy with the unit and would highly recommend it.

Good size and performance. Now using as my main emergency back up where sync all every week or two just in case of major failures.Note the cable use has a special plug at the dive end so you must not loose it. Bit annoying. So mine is selotaped to the drive.

I use this to back up Time Machine in Mac, plug in , Mac will prompt you through a 1 minute set up . Previous one lasted 3.5 years until I dropped it on a hard floor. This one has more shock proofing, but take care of it.

I've got 4 of these now. All still going strong. Definitely Plug'n'Play not Plug'n'Pray. Unusual USB connector cable but no signs of any of them failing - I know some reviewers were worried about that. Great product

This product gave no hassle. It worked out of the box as a backup drive for my elderly Dell desktop running Windows 10.However, the whole point of a backup drive is it's reliability. That only time will tell!

This is the third Buffalo HD drive that I am biyng (apart from two CD-ROM drives). Reliable, sensible price, ideal for my purposes (professional use). Actually made in Japan.

Product needed to have stuff done to it b4 it would work on my iMac. Thank goodness for You Tube. So for Mac’s ots not Plug and Play.

I like Buffalo external drives. Have had a 500GB one for years. Never Had a problem with it. I stick with what works well for me.

Quickly delivered and easy to use, ie plug in to laptop and use for backups in my case.Too early to comment on durability.
