I bought this car seat for my newborn, as at the time we weren't big drivers so I didn't see the justification of getting an infant car seat and travel system buggy.Infant/rearward facing:It was a great seat for a newborn. She sat snuggly in the extra insert, and always slept comfortably. Once the seat was properly installed, it was firm and steady - and I never questioned its safety despite not being Isofix. It could be tricky to get a proper rearward installation on my VW Golf, sometimes taking a few goes before it sat solidly with no movement, but since I rarely removed the seat from the car, I didn't mind this so much.I learned that if I moved the front passenger seat back to sit flush with the back of the carseat that it would feel even more firm and secure. The way the seatbelt feeds along the side of the seat in the rearward position means it is in the way of getting your little one into and out of the carseat. But for me this was easily remedied by simply pulling the seatbelt to slack, and tucking it under the lip on the side of the seat while putting baby into and out of position. And then repositioning the seatbelt when finished. Admittedly, VW Golfs are renowned for their long seatbelt, so this was easy for me to do. I fitted the seat in a friend's Nissan Qashqai once, and the seatbelt wasn't long enough to do this; I admit getting my baby into and out of the seat when it was in the Qashqai was pretty annoying and I ended up climbing in the opposite side of the car with her in my arms to get her in the seat from the other side. So maybe check how long your seatbelts are if you plan to use this seat rearward facing.Toddler/Forward facing:It is super easy to get the carseat fitted in a forward position. No fiddling around with placement and tension to make sure the seat is firmly in place. It is straightforward and the seat sits firmly. The seatbelt is all contained and tucked behind the seat, so no worries there. By the time I turned my baby around, we were already sold on the seat's functionality. It has three recline positions that are easy to adjust om the fly. The third has always been suitable for a comfortable sleeping position, without any head slumping forward or neck contortions. When she was in an in-between phase, when she was too big for the infant insert but too small to comfortably sleep without it, we bought the Britax Rover head insert, which worked well. By the time she was about 14 months, she slept well just in the seat itself, although she's always been at the top end of the growth charts. We've had the seat for 19 months now. I've always thought it was a good seat. But I didn't realise just how good it was until we bought a Joie i-anchor and base for our second car. I never knew it was possible to hate a carseat so intensely. In comparison to the Joie, our Britax is truly spectacular. So much so that I'm now trying to find a second hand one to replace the expensive Joie i-anchor we bought!

Lost a star because it we couldn’t get along with it rear-facing.We have many offspring and have owned many car seats over the years. Safety recommendations have altered since we had our eldest. As a result, I wanted a good seat at good value; firstly, so that we could keep him rear-facing for as long as possible and secondly, preferably achieve this without remortgaging to buy it. Previous experience dictates that he will be grown out of it before we can blink. Unfortunately, the way the seatbelt has to be configured to secure this seat rear-facing, results in an extremely difficult situation when trying to get the actual child into the seat. This was the same in both cars.I was pretty sure initially that it was user error because it seemed that daft but I read and re-read the instructions and we definitely had not made a mistake. The seatbelt comes out forwards and then around the back of the seat, meaning it travels diagonally across the door opening. Which in turn because the seat is quite high means, that to get the child into it you have to somehow post them between the fixed structure of the seat and the torte seatbelt and then try and lower them into it with a belt in your face. They are probably screaming and back arching at this point. Everyone who’s ever had a one year plus old in their care for any length of time, knows that they’ve no patience for any kind of incompetence when it comes to these things. Trying to get a wriggling toddler into a seat without wrapping him around the seat belt was nigh on impossible. We basically abandoned it and went back to the Group 0 and literally used that until we really couldn’t anymore and at this point we were happy to travel with him forward-facing.Now we are using it in the forward-facing position, we are very pleased with it. It’s not too bulky, so two other car seats fit alongside it safely in our tank. It is easy to secure. Loud click so there’s no doubt whether it’s fastened or not. Easy to tighten and he is clearly comfortable. He looks snug and protected. It is definitely better quality than the Group 1 Maxicosi we once had for the older ones. The cover is soft. Haven’t washed it yet. It’s light enough to move from one car to the other. It is extremely easy to secure with the seatbelt in forward-facing position. In a nutshell, my advice is if you plan on rear-facing and you only have seatbelt fixation as an option you will probably have the same issue with any seat. If you have isofix- use that and keep these ones for forward-facing.

Easy to fit to your car (rear facing) by simply feeding the seat belt under the feet section, plugging it in and the upper part of the belt is then taken up and over the back and slotted into the gap at the back. There's also a hook on the outside where the child's ear would be which you tuck the belt intoI've had a few car seats and this was definitely the easiest to fit. My only negative point is that when you want to place or remove your infant, the seat belt is perfectly in the way. You can tuck it under the arm rest to help but don't forget to untuck it after.I would recommend trying the seat in your car first at either Mothercare or Halfords to make sure it a) fits your car, and b)the seatbelt won't annoy you too much. We would have bought from either of those places but you just couldn't beat the internet price from Britax.

This car seat is excellent, it's nice and narrow so fits compactly on the back seat as our car doesn't have a lot of room in the back. But is sturdy, and high enough that you don't need to lean down too far to place the baby in the seat. Our little one is three months old and the newborn insert gives her plenty of cushioning and cradles her head so that she can sleep comfortably in it.There are only two cons for this chair, one being that the straps are quite hard to tighten so you really need to pull to get them to the correct tightness. And where the seatbelt comes around the chair it is right in the way when getting baby in and out so it's easier to move it up over the top of the seat whiledoing this and then you need to remember to put the belt back across the side of the chair before setting off which is not particularly ideal.

I'm fitting this seat into a 64 plate fiesta (5 Door)If you find the instruction manual daunting then you're not alone, however there are pictures on the seat that show the correct instalation.I have an Evolva 1-2-3 seat so I'm used to the seatbelt gymnastics usually required to fit a Britax seat.Rearward facing setup is a breeze(Just remember to bring the lap belt section under the seat as displayed on the seat itself)The seat sits behind the front seat snugly in full recline position with the front seat in the position to allow someone of over 6 feet tall a comfortable ride.As for access to get the child in and out I'm afraid I'll have to guess as ours isn't due till mid October. However even in the back of a relatively small car access looks good.

I'm not amazed by this carseat.During rearward installation you're meant to pull out a little plastic bit from underneath the carseat, it was very hard to pull out and even after watching installation videos plus reading the manual I am not 100% sure about how safe the carseat is in the car so I've changed back to my handheld carseat until further notice. It's not a very comfy carseat, with the newborn insert it feels comfy but other than that it's not something I'd want to keep my child in for long journey's.Came in a big box, packaging is fine.

Well made and reasonably easy to fit, light but feels strong. Little one seems happy in it. Only used it facing backward but can be used facing forward apparently Only downside for me is that a rotating mechanism so the seat could be faced toward the car door when putting little one in and then being able to turn it to the travelling position would be nice. Honestly for the price, we have two other iso fixed in position chairs that cost four times this one did, it's an excellent chair.

Although personally I was never impressed with the design and the functionality, I have to say it does the job and feels conformable for our son.We used it for over two years and it still looks like new. We bought it when the newborn seat became too small. It still fits our 4 y.o.The installation is not the easiest, but i guess all of the seats are like this. I wish it had a better recline angle. It is sturdy and well made.So overall 4 stars

We already have this seat for our 2 year old and purchased this one for new baby. The seat itself is easy enough to install in car, very sturdy and comfortable for ages newborn to 4 years approx.Babies can lie comfortably rear facing for 2 years and newborn insert can be removed when required whilst still providing optimum comfort.Overall, for the price this seat is excellent

10.3.2017

It is bulky and heavier than the Joie All Stages but it does the job and my 9 month old is very comfortable in it. Easy to install (following you tube video) and easy to strap baby in. Perfect to leave at grandparents house and fantastic for the price. I would recommend if this is your budget for a car seat. If your budget is slightly higher, i would look for a less bulky one.

17.6.2019

We bought this today, the instructions were easy to follow and it was relatively easy to install into the car. The only downfall is how high the seat is when rear facing, I would have preferred it to be a little lower but that said it is really sturdy, comfy and my son was so happy and secure in the seat this evening. Straps are really easy to adjust too.A great buy!

I was going to buy this exact item in mothercare but they didn't stock it and customer service wasn't great. So decided to order here. Came well packed. Its large and comfy. Our baby loves it.Our cosatto one wasn't very good at all. Was too small and our baby was curled up very uncomfortable.Good value for money and easy to attach to the car. We'll recommended

This is not an Isofix, baby car seat. However, it fastens very firmly on the backseat. The baby chair can be mounted rearward or forward on the car seat and it is adjustable for sitting or lying position. This way the Britax Romer First Class Plus can be used from the very first day until the 2nd or 3rd year (depending on how big is your little one).

12.4.2018

Bought another car seat to use it rear facing and found that my car's seatbelt was not long enough for it. After reading loads of reviews i have found this Britax which is far better than my expectations. I have first used it on a long jurney and my little one loved it. Easy to setup and it reclines enough for a comfortable sleeping position.

30.3.2019

Really great seat, the new born insert keeps my son secure and comfortable. We had an earlier model for my first son and the improvement to the already good new born insert means that there is more protection against the straps. You just won't want to take the seat in and out as it can be fiddly to get the seat really secure.
