Bought this because we had to move on from the 5 point harness seat. I had bought other non-Iso fix seats, but the very cheap ones were slightly concerning with their build quality. This one has hard plastic, outside on the right places, yet has comfortable padding on the inside. Here are the main benefits I see over other similar car seats.1. ISO Fix, can be used with/without it. However when using ISO fix, it means that if the child gets out and doesn't remember to strap the seat belt back over (say after dropping off at school), and you drive home and have to do an emergency stop, the seat doesn't go flying off the back seat of the car.2.The ISO Fix mountings on this seat are via flexible straps rather than rigid metal rods which means you can clip them in much much easier than other car seats I've had in the past. This is a great feature if you have to move the car seat between cars. - Definitely worth considering if you do this regularly. Also helps that the seat is lightOne thing worth mentioning is that this seat (like most other seats on the market) has a base which is about the same width as the seat itself. This does mean that it probably won't fit in the bucket type seats you might find in some Coupe and sports cars. (You'll have to go for something like the Halfords essential, which is of worse build quality if you need that.)So my overall summary is: Provided it fits in your car, then I would definitely buy this, especially given how well priced it is. It can be moved between cars without any trouble, and the added ability to use ISOfix is something which I have really come to appreciate.I will definitely be happy to get more of these in future if I need them.Update July 2019: after 8 months, I bought another one and added photos. First photo is the original one after 8 months of daily usage, second photo is the new one and the packaging it comes in.Update December 2019: Ive reviewed another car seat which costs 2-3 times the price of this one, and think this is actually the easier seat to use, and in my opinion the better seat, which is high praise for this.Update August 2020: Having had such good experience with these, I bought a 3rd one, replacing a much more expensive car seat with this. This time I bought an entirely black one which I think actually looks smarter than the one with the white back.

We already have the Britax Römer Kidfix XP SICT and have been pleased with that, so were keen to try this Kidfix SL SICT with our other child. We haven't been disappointed. As with the XP, the SL is light and easy to install or transfer between cars. Our children have made long journeys in both seats without complaint, and seem very comfortable in them. The XP has a seatbelt pad for the child's chest. As well as adding extra padding, it also helps to keep the seatbelt in the correct position. It's a reassuring addition, but is a mixed blessing since it tends to twist and tangle with the seatbelt and so it often takes extra time and effort to strap the child in. This SL seat doesn't have the pad,and so is easier to quickly fasten. The side impact protection (SICT) on the XP SICT is a screw-out drum structure. On the SL SICT, it's a clip-on component. I find the screw-out drum a little more convenient – it won't get lost, and can be adjusted to the best thickness to suit the space in the car. That said, the clip-on side impact protector for this SL SICT is easy to attack and unclip (should you need to move it to the other side of the chair), and seems perfectly adequate. This SL seat has strong straps (SL stands for “soft-latch") that connect the Isofix arms to the seat. This gives extra flexibility for attaching to the Isofix fastening points in your car, especially if those Isofix points in your car are tricky to reach. I tested this seat in a couple of cars, and fitting was very easy in each.In summary, this is a very good seat. Easy to fit and move between cars. Our children have no complaints and have happily made long journeys in it.

This seat was pretty easy to install in car and my 5 year old finds it really comfortable. There is an exposed pull at front of seat that makes it easy to adjust how tight and secure it sits to seat of car. My son has played with this a little at first but ignores it now.One of the things we noted straight away which was unusual was that the small rests either side of the seat were not padded. We have had a few seats with all of these padded. Seemed an odd design choice and we were concerned that these would be uncomfortable but they don’t appear to be.One minus with this seat is that there is no cup holder. These are really use full as our children always use them and put their water bottles there for long drives. This means we will have to get something separate to hang on the seat.Overall a really good solid comfortable seat but with no extras or thrills.

The title covers the main points that I was concerned with when buying a child seat. Both of my parents live over 2 hours away in the car, so we regularly make long trips in the car. It was imperative this seat was well padded and that his neck was held upright when he slept. This does both.As far as safety is concerned, all child seats sold in the UK have to match the same safety restrictions, it's just that some do it in more style than others. This one feels sturdy, good quality materials, yet light enough to easily take out and put in another car at a moment's notice.Relatively cheap, easy to clean/wash and comfortable for the kids. All you need!

This is an improvement on our older Kidfix-XP sict with the chest pad. The main issue that we had/have with our XP is that the friction of the seatbelt running through the clip at the top prevents the seatbelt from retracting. So if a child leans forward during the journey, it doesn't retract when they sit back again. And also when the child unclipped at the end of a journey, the seatbelt was left hanging low out of the door, which caused some denting to the door frame when it got caught in it. This SL model that we have received has a slightly different clip at the top and the problem is much improved, although still not perfect.

The seat was purchased as an upgrade to our previous Britax. Apparently as comfortable as the last version. Fairly overpriced considering its basically a piece of plastic with a covering. The grey and black versions both look nicely made. With enough adjustments to allow for growth, I'm sure they will last a long time. My only negative is they dont leave much room at the base to allow for easy seatbelt clipping (this could just be the seats in a ford focus). We haven't used the iso fix points so I'm unable to comment. Overall happy, but a price tag of £50 would seem more appropriate.

This is a suberb car seat from the highly regarded German company. Excellent engineering and construction, a concise design without the box and volume of other similar child seats. This suits are six-year-old son (23kgs, 125 cm) excellently with superb all-round protection and head restraint but with the ability to use the normal car seat belts without an additional harness . So for bigger, older children this is an excellent purchase. Three point restraint and doesn’t take up too much room in the car. This performed excellently on a four day drive to Portugal

Looks fairly robust and it’s easy to install. I have two problems though: (1) the base is a bit too wide for my jaguar and it traps the seat belt insert, meaning my boy can no longer buckle up himself and I have to do it. Currently trying to find a seat belt extension to over come this problem. (2) the sock absorbing mechanism is on the left, meaning you can only fit this seat on the left side of the back seat. Not a problem for me as I only have one child but I can imagine this being an issue if you are desperate to put this on the right.

This seat came highky recommended by Which? I was not disappointed. It is easy to fix using the flexible Isofix straps. Some purchasers complained that this didn't hold the seat firmly, but this is not intended to be a full baby seat, but a child booster seat. The Isofix is an additional safety feature to the adult seat belt. I think it is perfect. It is adjustable, light (easy to switch to other cars) and my 4 year old granddaughter loves it. She says it is very comfortable.

Granddaughter likes it, but from time to time complains and jumps about a bit. Not to heavy and easily moved between cars. Haven’t used the ISOFIX yet. It looks a bit fiddly and the metal connectors are attached to the seat by small belts. Overall I am pleased with it, and would probably buy it again if the need arises in the future. Supports her head when she sleeps but no cup holder for a drink.

Great quality as expected. I do not like however the soft seat belt material which the clips to the isofix are attached to. Would have preferred a solid clip but I guess I should have read the description correctly! Fits fine but as the clips are on loose material the seat moves about so doesn’t feel so solid. Obviously still perfectly safe so I guess it’s just what your used to.

I found it was a tad difficult to att h one side of the attachments. That could be my cars issue. I like it. My child finds it hard to fall asleep as it doesn’t recline like the previous one, might be age related also. There are white fluff coming out from the seat that I feel should be taken care of. Overall feels safe and I’m happily using it

Researched car seats for sometime, as the recaros we have, have been discontinued so we needed to look for 2 car seats and found this car seat and I’m very impressed got awards for its safety like the recaros that we have. So easy to install, came really quick for delivery and got them on offer so win win.

I have 2 of these. The main driver for buying them was the quality/price ratio. I didn't want expensive car seats since they were for our second car, but I also didn't want the cheap ones. These were affordable and the quality is really good, it was a no brainer.

17.3.2018

Good solid and functional. Kids comfy in it and it’s easy to use. Only downside would be the isofix fittings feel a little pointless. But these seats are perfectly safe without isofix so it’s not a biggy. Overall a decent product that I would recommend.
