I’ve been using the Fill & Go both with and without a filter depending on what I have in it (usually water but occasionally diluting juice) and there is definitely a difference is usability between the two. If using without a filter, the liquid dispenses quite easily i.e. take a mouthful without having to suck on it too much. With the filter though you really have to suck on it and make sure the bottle is tipped at an angle before much will come out so it’s not quite as thirst quenching. That being said, you still need to make sure your mouth is fully covering the mouthpiece because it will drip out when tipped.I do have to say I really don’t have the same problem as others with it leaking or spluttering even when not in use.The filter basically covers the whole of the lid and it’s easy to screw the top back on. I don’t find the mouthpiece that comfortable to use because it’s quite small. The lid doesn’t hit back in my face as it holds its place quite well if pushed fully back although I can easily see this weakening over time. I would perhaps have preferred something a little bit thinner as although I can get a good hold of it, if it is wet it can feel a little slippery and there’s nothing to give it much grip so not great while out and about if having to carry it.I love the fact the bottle is clear so you can see how much is in it. I don’t think it alters the taste of tap water at all (my tap water doesn’t taste of chlorine though) and it’s easy to clean in the dishwasher (bare in mind you need to remove the filter before putting it in the dishwasher). They also recommend cleaning the disc once a week by placing it in a cup and pouring boiling water on it. The biggest thing I hate is the fact they recommend changing the disk every 4 weeks – making the water bottle quite expensive over the course of a year.

Almost put off by the bad reviews but i own many brita items and love them all. Obviously I can't take my fridge filter box out with me, so this seemed logical If you need good tasting tap water on the go, this is for you. Yes the lid is a bit clumsy. Yes drinking from it takes a little getting used to because there is a method.Yes it is somewhat easier to just open the lid and drink from the bottle, a built in straw would have been helpful. But on the whole it gives you great tasting tap water wherever you may be. So if you live in a city and want to reduce your carbon footprint and save some money on your daily commute are bothered by all the plastic your throwing away, this is for you.I was in Birmingham recently at a conference and a bottle of water at our hotel was £3.90 and £2 at the train station, while my colleges were complaining I had no issues with my bottle in hand, it made the tap water taste fine. I live in wales and our water is usually OK but with this it is fantastic. I'd say its worth every penny. A bit disappointed it didn't come with a few filters or the option of a starter pack with say 12 filters to keep you going your first year.On the whole an awesome product if you travel and enjoy good water.

I was flying from London to Sydney and needed a good water bottle to use in airports, on plane and traveling in Sydney autumn. I thoroughly recommend this.Traveling with changes in airports plus visiting Sydney with 30°c heat I wanted a filter bottle for filling up on the go. My alternative was camelbak but that was £30 so I tried this out first. This bottle is great. V easy to drink from (my 4 y\o uses it too) and not too gurgle noisy. The size was ideal 700ml. Filters are easy to get at home (just make sure you get the correct size). It has saved me 10s of pounds\dollars in purchased bottles not to mention many bottles in landfill. At airports there are water filling stations (Sydney, Manila,London) so all I did was full up where I could and empty water in toilets before I get to security. You can dry out the filter between use, just make sure you soak disk for 10 mins before use , as if it's new. What would make it perfect: plastic is brittle, do not drop it. Also if it had a carry loop like my cheap infuser bottle it would be perfect! It's a big bottle 700ml and not handy to carry (but my rucksack and hand luggage has a pocket)To note: you can buy this with nectar points at Sainsbury-cheeky note

The original Brita water bottle has been brilliant for our kids taking to school, but the set-up is a bit fiddly with the various parts around the filter. This upgrade is just what was needed. The filter disc lasts much, much longer (although proportionately more expensive) and fits into a screw down cap in the lid.The straw has gone as you draw the water through the filter when tipping the bottle to drink. No great change in the materials used. The clear bottle will eventually scratch and cloud as it gets used and washed (it is dishwasher safe), but overall it feels as durable as the original if not better engineered. If you haven't had one of the originals then here's how they work. There's a little charcoal filter disc which fits under the "spout" as part of the lid. You fill them with tap water (stick an ice cube or two in if you wish) then clip on the lid and off you go. As you drink from the bottle, the water flows through the active charcoal filter and is "cleaned". It is pretty much the same as most of the filter jugs that you can put in a fridge. For schoolkids, sportspeople, office workers and indeed pretty much anyone this is a good way to carry fresh and palatable water around.

I was pleasantly surprised to notice that the microdisc made such a difference to the taste of my normal tap water when using the Brita fill n go, considering I was initially sceptical about how much difference it was going to make. I was astonished how my tap water tasted like the bottled water i purchase weekly. Since the trial, the Brita fill&Go has replaced everything i used to use before. Purchasing microdiscs regularly may be offputting to some people but seriously,- if you stop to consider how much money you spend on plastic bottled spring water, you're actually saving money in the long run and ultimately, most importantly doing the world a favour by reducing the amount of plastic waste by being environmentally friendly and helping the sea creatures in the ocean by contributing to plastic-free seas in the future hopefully.I believe this environmental and ethical issue alone is worth buying this product so PLEASE buy!!!If I had to make changes , I would prefer the flip top lid to be less chunky and it would be nice to have the option of smaller compact version bottles that fit in handbags.#saveouroceans #saynotoplasticwaste

The BRITA Fill&Go Vital water bottle is brilliant. I got mine just before we had an intense heat snap and water is always a must, but when the weather is intense it is all the more important. This water bottle was like having a personal spring with me all the time. It was instantly noticeable that the water tasted pure - no 'hot' taste of plastic or of that tap water taste, but just clear clean pure water. The only problem is that every member of my family wants one now! Since getting it I have brought it with me everywhere and no matter where I fill it up, because of the filter, the quality of the water is always amazing. The water bottle is easy to use and comes with everything you need - just pop in the filter and fill it up.When you first drink from it, be careful not to gulp down too fast. As the water is filtered, there is some air that goes back in the bottle, and so it is more like a gentle stream of water than some water bottles where you suck and get a huge gulp. It is easy to use and after the first sip you'll be used to it.I highly recommend it, and yes I will be buying more so everyone in my house can have one!

Ok its pretty much decided, those who liked the old bottle don't like this design and yes, the spout us a bit of a pain and is rather stiff and yes the cap can give you a bump on the nose if not careful but it works better than that other brand of on the go filtering water bottles.I live in an exceptionally hard water area and this stuff made it taste amazing whether straight out the tap or double filtered from our fridge built in filter water dispenser, there isn't the powdery feel and occasional grit I got from the other brand filters it's just pleasant tasting water. The spout is tough to pull up,my mum needed my dad to do it the first time or so and I wouldn't trust this not to leak if slung into a bag I valued but for carrying about during tasks whether out and about or at home such as gardening or DIY it's a nice water bottle to have and is a generous size to prevent running back and forth to the water supply.Plus the disks last a month which is brilliant.Yes if you liked the first design it's going to be a disappointment but if you're used to sports cap style disposable water bottles it's not that bad.

This is a really nice water bottle. I am trying to stop using bottled water in 'use once' plastic bottles and this is a great alternative. The materials seem to be good quality and I think the price of the bottle is good (even the filters work out much cheaper if you are used to buying a bottle of water from the shop/cafe each day) .It's easy to keep clean and hygienic, and the bright coloured tops are cheery (I have pink, my daughter uses a green one and my husband has blue). I think the design is an improvement, and I love the pull up spout for drinking from - no leaks!I like the size. It's a bit big for most handbags, but fine for a tote or sports bag. 600 ml is a good amount of water for me to drink in a day,but I drink more from this because the filtered water tastes nice. Fits nicely in our fridge door too.The other improvement on the previous design is that because the filter disc is thinner, the flow of water is a lot faster. All up, I am really pleased with the bottles and comfortable recommending them.

The BRITA Fill and Go Vital Water Filter Bottle does exactly what it says on the tin. It holds 600ml which is a handy amount for carrying around, not too much that it's too heavy to carry and not too little so you run out quickly. Once I had got my head around the picture instructions for setup, it went together easily. I love the flow on this in comparison to another brand I have tried, but it is a bit noisy as the water bubbles through the filter to your mouth, so maybe a bit awkward to use in quiet places. The bottle is completely smooth which reduces grip, especially when the bottle is wet. I used it for 4 days at a conference this past weekend and found it a very useful addition to my bag as it contained a good amount so I could keep hydrated. It just fitted into the mesh bottle pocket on my bag as it is fairly wide so not so good if you plan to carry it in a similar pocket as may be a tight squeeze. In all, I would recommend this to anybody looking not only for a easy to use bottle, but also one which looks good.

I really like this bottle, and having seen all these negative reviews on amazon, I thought I should also have my voice heard. I bought it for 5 pounds, which is super cheap, so might have affected my opinion, but this bottle makes my water taste very good. The plastic is it is made of is of very good quality, so you don't taste the plastic at all as you do with cheaper bottles. There is a little bit of air coming into your mouth as an other reviewer mentioned, but if you try to reposition the bottle while drinking, this will be eliminated. There have not been any leaks yet, although I have not tried to take the bottle outside the house. I see it more as a way to drink better quality water while you are at home or at work, rather than a bottle that I can carry with me everywhere I go. I would not take it with me, risking my books or phone/ipad getting wet. Also, it is quite bulky, so not very convenient to take with you anyway.I would recommend this bottle for house/office use.

I brought this water filter to cut down on the amount of plastic I use on a daily basis. I can’t drink tap water due to the taste so thought I would give this bottle a try. Yes I know this is made from plastic but I was going through four 500ml bottles a day, so this has saved me money and considerably cut down on my plastic use. The flavour is great in my opinion it tastes as good as the highland spring water I would normally buy. I clean the filter once a week in boiling water as per instructions and find that each filter lasts me a good six weeks before I get the taste of tap water seeping through. I would imagine that this would vary depending on where you live in the country.I like the design of the bottle and find it easy to drink from. I have found it to be completely leak proof, quite often travelling on it’s side while commuting to work in my backpack. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to all.

Well it's a game of two halves when it comes to consideration of the BRITA Vital water bottle. On the one hand I like the simplicity, my daily water tastes way better than from the tap and the size is good for office use. The older model filters tended to cost around the £1 each mark if you bought in larger packs and shopped around. The current model is way more expensive, around £3 each. However, consider the originals lasted a week or so, not that handy, and the new ones around a month. In theory better value, but to be confirmed after usage. As a water bottle it works fine for me and I haven't been bothered by some of the issues raised by others. Nevertheless, read through some of the other reviews and make your own judgement. Size for carrying around generally is a bit on the biggly size to be honest and it's quite heavy when filled. Again, form your own judgement. Build is OK and with care it should last.

As a lover of BRITA products I was excited to try the Fill and Go Water Filter Bottle. When it arrived the filter was in a seperate packet and was very easy to install. I wasn’t sure if you had to pour the water through the filter to fill the bottle but this wasn’t the case, you just fill the bottle and the water filters as you drink it. It is quite noisy and bubbly as it goes through the filter but the taste is nice and you can tell that it has been filtered. I loved how much water the bottle held and it has definitely encouraged me to drink more throughout the day. The only downside I found with the bottle is when you are drinking from it the lid kept falling down and hitting the bridge ofmy nose so I have learned to turn the lid sideways to prevent this from happening.Overall another great product from BRITA and I one which I will continue to buy filters for and use for a long time to come.

This bottle is great and the water out of it tastes really good. The only downside is that the replacement filters seem to be running at around £3 each - which is a bit pricey compared to the older filters, from what I can find. The top of the bottle is a bit bigger than I expected, but the cap and lid seem to be completely leak-proof. The bottle itself seems tough and stays very clean-looking.I'm really confused about the other reviews saying that the bottle is really noisy to drink from. It's not 'noisy' unless you find a light gurgling sound 'noisy'. I can only assume that these other reviewers are actually spies who have been detected in covert operations due to some very observant guards with their ears pricked for the sound of water filters. If this is the case, then I can only thank these people for their service to whatever country they're spying for.

I own the previous model of this water bottle with a straw and have always enjoyed using it. This one has a couple of niggles but nothing major.1, The flip lid usually stays open when drinking from it,it has flipped back a couple of times touching my face but I now just put my finger in the way so it's no great problem. 2,The other is that my other bottle filters do not fit the new bottle. Again no problem really as I do have two bottles so they will not be wasted. The new bottle filters are much better as they last 4 weeks as opposed to 1 week with the previous filters. The bottle is made from a durable plastic and there different colours to choose from so no family mix ups.Filters are included with the bottle so its ready to use immediately. There are mixed reviews on this bottle but I can honestly say that it's easily as good as it's predecessor.
