This is a really great set of colouring pencils from BIC in a wonderful selection of 24 'vibrant' colours and shades. My set arrived well packed inside an attractive cylindrical plastic blue and yellow box with lid and I am pleased to say that on arrival none of the nibs were broken.A good selection of colours are included from darks to lights and warm colours to cool colours. The colour of each pencil matches the colour of the body of the pencil.The wood free material used is 'chew' proof and does not splinter … this is a good for me, as I am forever chewing the ends of my pencils especially when I'm trying to think (thankfully not done too often).

I’m a bit confused with all of those BIC Evolution, Evolution Stripes, Tropicolors and Tropicolors 2 colouring pencil sets. They all seem to be very similar except for the different size of packaging and pattern.It seems that the names vary depending on the country, but generally Tropicolors are the Evolution and Tropicolors 2 are the Evolution Stripes. Additionally all of the colours of the pencils inside are the same for all of the varieties.I have compared colours of each single pencil between the Evolution and Evolution Stripes that we had on hand and all of the colours are exactly the same. They also both similarly bendy, have nice bright colours and are rather soft (not the softest pencils we had but still soft),

The one big complaint I have with this can of pencils is that it's not described very accurately. 60 pencils, 12 colours: logically, one would expect five of each.However, when I went to sort out a 'set' for my nephew, I discovered there were many more than 12 different shades - if memory serves I found 24 - and there was no logic to how many of any given colour there were. Of some shades I found three pencils: of others, only one. And it was not a case of having more of the most used colours or anything helpful like that. I just saw these were doing the rounds in the Black Friday sale again this year and thought I'd just put up a quick review to reassure potential buyers about the quality of these pencils.I bought mine three years ago and the pot full of pencils has sat on my daughter's desk the whole time, ready for use whenever she needs them. They sharpen up quickly and cleanly and the colours are just as good as any other pencils. Not being made of wood seemed like a bit of a novelty idea for traditional-looking pencils, but there's nothing novelty about these. They're rock solid and great value.The fact I don't need to buy any more this year tells you a lot about their durability. There is no lid for these,

I got these for my children to use and they've been having a good time with them. As advertised they don't splinter easily, even if children are heavy-handed with them. My 4-year-old has also been chewing on them but you wouldn't know so the chew resistant claim is true too. He did struggle with sharpening them though even though the blurb says they are easy to sharpen but that's just his age. I sharpened them fine and the sharpening comes out as one long piece instead of breaking up into many pieces like lesser pencils so I would say these are easy to sharpen compared to normal pencils.The pencils are also hexagonal so have good grip. The pencils also have eco qualities with 50% being made from recycled materials,

This is a nice simple pack from Bic. It’s as reliable and generic as their biros. The fact they’re resin is a bit of a novelty at first but our kids quickly got used to them and were very happy with them. The fact they are chew-proof was an immediate plus with our resident nibbler too. We haven’t excessively tested the snap-proof properties but they definitely feel more durable in that way as well.The range of colours is good- fairly standard, but with a couple more variants on pink-purple-lilac than you might normally find, as well as a nice collection of greens. The colour is vibrant and applies well to paper, easily equal to (but not better than) more standard colouring pencils.Whilst not the cheapest pack on the block,

Two dozen different colours. Other than light and dark variants, I'm not sure what the other shades are called within a particular group (something strange no doubt - and let's face it, kids just go by what it looks like, not what it's called) but this pack contains:Five reds.Four blues.Four greens.Three oranges.Two browns.Two yellows.One each of white, black, grey and mauve.Some might look the same but they aren’t. Believe me. The pencils come in its own case (but I doubt they will always find their way back again) and aren’t actually wood, so they won’t splinter when broken or chewed, and let’s face it, loads of users chew the end of a pen or pencil.

You get 2 sets of exactly the same pencil colours. This is great for siblings as it means a pack each. Or a pack for you to colour with and a pack for someone else. But for me these are perfect pencils. It means I can chose colours with my granddaughter and we can colour and draw together with matching pencil colours.I have to admit we have dropped theses a few times from the counter top. And the have landed on their nibs. But not once have they cracked or fallen off. They are magic!And we have sharpened them. Which is so far so good. You can’t go wrong with them!For the price they are great value. And the colour range is perfect for little ones. These will last a very long time indeed.

I do like BIC Tropicolors/BIC Evolution pencils, although one should be aware of the product's characteristics before buying. These are hard leads pencils (dedicated to children) so they are very resistant to the mechanical damages. Hard leads make it also much more difficult to blend colors. The cores have not much of the pigment, so the final effect strongly depends on the type(also color of paper) one is using.To work with the mentioned I do use either pastels' toned paper or just thick (very often cardboard) paper. It is important because to get the decent tones you just need to press sometimes a bit harder.So overall: great pencils to learn how to draw,

These colouring pencils are great! My two year old grand daughter loves colouring and she really enjoyed using these. There are 18 colours in the pack so you get a great choice, and what's especially good about them is the fact that they are made from resin, not wood, so they are easy to sharpen and don't splinter. In some ways they are better for children to learn to colour than felt pens because they learn to press harder for a deeper colour. All the colours are vibrant and seem to work on most paper without scratching. There are 2 identical packs for a very reasonable price - they should last ages,

These Bic pencils cover a good spread of colours and are full size. Sometimes with pencils the colouration is quite light, grey blacks, washed out teal etc, however these are really solid colours. The black is deep, the colours accurately represent the outside coating of each pencil. Sounds obvious, but many colouring pencils disappoint my children.They sharpen well, leaving minimal mess.These pencils are actually recommended by our local secondary school. It's likely these are recommended not just for their colouration. but for their safety features and reliability (ie no jagged wood if they snap). Definitely a set to recommend.

The pencils are exactly what I was looking for, they needed to be child resistant and take the manic colouring from a 3 and 7 year old in their stride.There are a good selection of colours and the pencils themselves are sturdy and can take a significant amount of abuse. There have been countless times in the past where I have had to throw out pencils because the lead in them had been shattered by the slightest of drops onto the kitchen floor.Strangely the container that holds the pencils does not come with a lid, so expected the odd 'spill'.Even at the normal Amazon price I would buy these pencils again, they are value for your money.
