Plush Monchhichi monkeys as a phenomenon started in the 1970’s in Japan. In the 1980’s the craze reached the Western world and there was nothing more precious to my younger brother than his cuddly Monchhichi monkey.Nostalgia now returns as I recently bought this brand new soft and fluffy monkey as a birthday present to my wife. It was a huge instant hit. Not so much with my wife but more with the children that adore the doll. Moreover, when she showed it to her friends they also ordered Monchhichi dolls again, each more impressive and more sizeable than the other.The 20 cm doll itself is a bit small, for for the rest as they have always been been; of good quality.

Bought one for my son. I still have mine from my childhood (mine has blue eyes...!?) So I wanted my son to have one too. Quality it good but I don't like the tags they have now - when I was young they were really nicely soft which was important for me... washed it in the washing machine before using it and it survived fine :)

After reading some of the reviews after I ordered I was worried that I wouldn't receive what I thought I had ordered. Delighted to say that I received exactly what was specified - a very perfect 20cm monchichi in a red open box. See pic of what I got...took pic after taking monchichi out ?

I bought this as a late birthday present for my 3 year old granddaughter. She had a fake one and as my daughter had a real one when she was her age which lasted until she left home then of course we scoured everywhere for this.Little one loves it. Mom loves it. So Nanny loves it!

Monchichi has changed my life. He has brought me peace, love and joy. He has a lovely squeeky voice. I like it when he sings a lullaby to soothe me to sleep.I am seriously considering formally adopting Monchichi to be my heir and son.God bless you sweet childxxx

Came within 24 hours! Excellent service and wow great quality nastelgia rush as soon as I set eyes on my cheeky monkey. Just as I remember my original one as a child looks smaller probably because I'm alot bigger now lol will treasure this little fellow

Absolutely delighted with my monchhichi. I had the original when I was a child, and I couldn't believe I was able to buy this again. Excellent quality and I loved the box it was in. I shall be able to buy more from now on.

Great reminiscing toy.Bought for my 4 year old she is a thumb sucker with pom poms she loves her as much as I did mine when a child. Fast delivery great price saw in Hamleys for more than double this. Recommend this highly

This is just like the Chicaboo I had when I was little and my 5-year-old daughter loves it. All the old clothes from my Chicaboo fit and she's greatly enjoying playing with it (the review title was her quote)!

This little girl I call Ying ...she is lovely to hold and so cute too . Just like the Classic Boy ( Blue ) I bought with her ...it melts my heart when I can put her thumb into her mouth . I am just loving her.

I had one of these cheeky monkies back in the 80s and saw amazon had them for sale so bought one.I wasnt disappointed as it brought my childhood memories back.very good quality product.

Bought my daughter one of these as I had one in the 80's and loved it and this also reminded me of her sucking her thumb! She loves it, so happy all round :-)
