I took a gamble when ordering this router because the header said AC68U but the description said it was the AC86U and the photo showed the AC86U.I did get the AC86U so I’m already pleased!This router is without doubt the best of the ASUS home routers in my opinion.I have merlin firmware installed and it runs like a dream. My VPN is maxed out on speed, QOS keeps the ping low for gaming on our 2 xboxone’s and the PS4 and parental controls allow me to set internet access times for any or every device connected, oh and Trend Micros content control keeps my mind at peace when it comes to the kids trawling the internet.This router has been described as the best midrange router on the market and I

This router is simplicity itself to configure, gives a constant wireless signal through two solid walls and a speed test on Netflix gives a consistent low nineties result. My house is an awkward design for Wi-Fi but this Asus seems not to notice. As long as you have your username and password obtained from your ISP and remember to set Vlan to 10, you will be up and running in a very short time. Very good product and it gets a big thumbs up. Perhaps a little pricey but if you want the best from your Fibre connection this is a fine replacement router.

I got this and installed it a week ago. Its actually the asus ac86u modal up from the 68u. Running on virgin internet at 200mps the super hub 3 had a lot of latency issues resulting in slow gaming and randomly cutting out when watching tv or using any device. The asus has much better wifi range and so far has been brilliant. Does exactly what i wanted it to do and anyone who uses streaming devices or gaming and has the same issues i was having will find this device a game changer. Defiantly recommended

Added to Virgin Media SH3 (SH3 in modem mode)Definite improvement in WiFi range, can't say with 100% certainty of its improved particularly noticeably gaming (wired via powerline) though, expect in some ways it must have due to better onboard processing power etc. A good buy in my opinion, good quality at a reasonable cost. Would recommend.

A great router, I can recommend to anyone. Easy configuration and a lot of functions for more advanced users. The price was also the lowest I found and the router came the next day.

Very fast and great for VPN, especially with Merlin firmware where multiple VPN clients can be setup. Working fine with a TalkTalk HG633 as the modem in bridged mode.

I purchased this to improve my Wi-Fi signal as the virgin superhub 3 is terrible. Very easy to setup and now I'm getting excellent Wi-Fi around the house.
