I didn't need another router, but the Airport Express A1392 is a neat little router with a very unusual additional feature - it can add Airplay 2 connectivity to any amplifier. This lets me listen to an excellent classical music streaming service called Idagio on my main hi-fi system. It also enabled synchronised playback on an Airplay 2 wireless speaker in another room. This multiroom facility is controlled via an iPad or iPhone. Both analogue and optical digital audio outputs are provided by the Airport Express via a clever dual purpose mini-jack socket (I'm using the optical output). This audio signal is of high quality.Apple's installation instructions could be clearer, hence the deduction of one star,

A great way of sending tunes wirelessly from my computer or iPhone to my hifi. The second one I've bought.A bit of a faff to set up initially (using a recent MacBook), due to the need for a wired connection to a computer, and the computer demanding dongles before it would even think about it.Anyway, after hooking it up to an old MacBook with an ethernet cable, it was very easy and intuitive to set up and connect to my existing WiFi network using Airport utility (tip: don't create a new network - the default option), and after the initial setup, Airport Utility (on computer and phone) seem able to manage things quite happily without further assistance from cables.Was a bit grubby when it arrived,

I have half a dozen of these in my large house and one started to cause problems on the network, so when I went to buy a replacement I was surprised to find that Apple had moved out of this business. This replacement arrived from China on time and is identical to the rest of the base stations in the network and worked fine first time, after I set it up, which is straightforward. There were no instructions (not a problem, easily found online) or network cable with it, just the mains cable.

These units make a simple way of moving your music around the house when used in conjunction with a small pair of speakers and a Wi-Fi phone. I don't know the range but it is greater than my iPhone so your router needs to be sited fairly centrally. I have three of these little devices which speaks for itself. The quality is second to none being an Apple product.

Living in an old cottage WiFi transmission is not good so I’ve got 2 in the house and one in my office/garage. BRILLIANT. set up is simple and they talk to each other automatically. This latest unit was a used one. Still perfect and even better value. I am NOT a techie so this kit was easy to instal.

I was disappointed that Apple stopped manufacturing this device, but I was pleased that I was able to get a brand new one sometime after the product was readily available from the high street. I already have two of these devices networked around the house as the main hub does not reach all rooms.

Now old tech but with recent revitalisation. Last update from Apple enables Airplay 2 support, however it won’t be long til these are obsolete but they’ll do the trick for the short term!

It is a good product because I have one already. It works well with what I have at home and apple don't do them anymore. If you are in the apple ecco system it is a good product to have.

I use the Apple Airport Express A1392 MC414B/A Wifi Router For AirPlay 2 Multi Speaker systemusing the audio out from Airport Express to a hifi system and the router to extend wifi.

Perfect to use with laptops and tablets that don't take an ethernet cable. Now use my phone, laptop and tablet at work.Bounces and amplifies signal. Another great Apple product :-)

Just as you would expect from Apple this is a top quality unit with plenty of information on-line to assist with the setup. This can be setup in many different configurations.

Great WiFi extended or ethernet connection.The product is no longer for sale from Apple, so delighted to secure the product.Very well packaged and sent promptly.

Bought to replace my Apple TV for Airplay audio.Seamlessly links to my Apple devices and now also have my own Wi-Fi network which never drops out or has problems.

I now can speak what songs I am after and play different songs using apple music...Airplay 2 has opened up my multi room audio... I use to use a laptop ;-)

Chose this to extend an AirPort Extreme wifi network via Ethernet, and because of the music AirPlay feature. Used the same network name and SSDI. Works fine.
