I bought this the day of the official release as an impulse upgrade to a mini ITX build I was making to be the new general home computer/file server. So far so good. The install involved putting a lot of force on the retaining screws for the Wraith (seems like more than the Ryzen 5 1500 I put in my work computer). This processor will almost certainly require a BIOS update, my Mobo required two! This will be a problem for new builds unless you have a spare Athalon available--see AMD for a free loaner (seriously). I anticipate this issue gradually being resolved as new Mobos with new BIOS installed make their way into the channels. In my case I had an A8-9600 installed previously so I put it back in for the update. The new Mobo BIOS lost my m.2-2280 widows bootable SSD making this build a royal PITA and requiring a number of workarounds and orders of parts. I guess the Mobo OEM left that out in the rush to field a working BIOS for the new processor but I can't hold that against the processor. Overall the Ryzen 3 2200G is noticably faster than the A8 and boots and operates nicely. Not as fast as the 1500 or an i5 but I think it will do great for several years as the house computer. If you crunch a lot of data or play a lot of games you will want a more powerful processor. The 2200G does not support multithreading(!) and therefore is limited to 4 virtual cores and lags behind an equivalent processor with a separate graphics card that is free to multi thread (1200?). I bought this for $99 and the integrated GPU was important to my build so I am quite happy with it's performance. The processor is running 2-8% at idle or browsing the interwebs and usually doesn't get too taxed. In my build 8gb of RAM is the limiting factor most the time. The 2200G processor clocked around 6850 on passmark. GPU was great for 2D but failed the 3D. Probably needs some adjustments to the firmware but I don't know that it matters. This thing can run my 47" HD TV as a monitor like a champ and I'm not planning on much gaming. All in all great purchase, great value, impressive system for $99.

Firstly, there is AMD clinching setting is Super Virtual Resolution for Windows 10. This allows you to upscale content for your monitor to 3840x2160 (4K) on lower resolution monitors like 1440p or 1080p. This will allow you to watch Amazon Prime Video and Netflix and Youtube HD content on your PC. The difference is pretty impressive. Simply enable under "Display" Adrenalin tab and then go into Windows 10 Display settings and change to 3840x2160 and increase text size to 175%.One of the most important CPU releases of the modern era; the Ryzen 2200G and Ryzen 2400G.The CPU is can be overclocked to 4Ghz,but power efficiency is best around 3.9Ghz at 1.375volts.The GPU can be overclocked to 1.6Ghz at 1.35volts – giving up to an extra 25% increase in FPS.B350 motherboard and this CPU costs are £165.Buying an equivalent CPU is £100, the motherboard is £92 and RX 550 or GT 1030 is £65. A total of £257. It should be noted: the GT 1030 was priced at £85 and RX 550 was priced over £100 before this APUs launch and you can expect those prices to return once the discounted prices disappear. The is a saving of £92, that allows a person to get DDR4-3200 2X4GB (8GB) for around £100, which cost only £25 more than a DDR4-2400 8Gb stick. Please note: don't waste your money on a 16Gb kit. APUs are unlikely to benefit from running 2x8GB (16GB) of DDR4 for gaming.A net saving of £67, it been a while since budget gaming builds had that kind of price cut!By giving GPUs like the RX 550 and GTX 1030 there redundancy notices – AMD will release a lot of GDDR5 (and it’s replacement GDDR6), which will be a blessing in the long-run as AMD has a surplus of GPUs cores to turn into GPUs, but has not had GDDR5 stock to get them to market. The net effect is, budget gamers get substantial cost reduction for their builds. And medium to high-end gamers will see an increase in the availability of GPUs produced by AMD. A win, win situation for all gamers.

First off I am a little bit techy, I have built several pc's from bare box out. I scoured the www looking for THE deal. I had a lightning strike blow out ALL my electronics, so budget was utmost. I spotted the MSI board first that this processor (CPU) matches to. and found this cpu. I was sold. I love MSI. the I hunted memory, and had settled on 16ggskill ripjaw. But there was something niggling at me so I re-read the specs on the mobo and cpu, and BAM it hit me the memory wasn't right speeds so I finally asked google the right question and found the right memory for the Ryzen line of cpu's. It is still gskill which imo is gold standard, Trident is the line name.Which imo Amazon could/should have linked to the Ryzen CPU's I almost missed it. w/o having followed the itch that I had missed something, I would have had the wrong speed memory and missed an opportunity to have a rig that is tuned for it's components. The video being integrated on board is fantastic deal! and the cooler is included! I was amazed at the value! when I started installation I read thru the booklet and I Freaked! as I said I have built several computers from the bare case so it all should be pretty standard. WELL, the booklet is confusing as, and looks far more complicated than it isn't. I mean it isn't complicated at all. same same as usual. that done it fired up first try which is rare. and has been running ever since like a sweet bell!I don't do heavy gaming, this rig with 16g mem wouldn't handle a heavy duty online game imo. I haven't tried. it handles the hidden object games I like some torrenting and 2 browsers with 20+ tabs open each All at once. so yeh it's a work horse imo. I LOVE this cpu with all its features the price makes it a steal. ease of install check runs well check, workload check, great value check. I would buy this setup again and again!

This was a great buy for me. I built my first gaming pc on this CPU and it’s been great. Here’s my build for referenceMoBo: Asus Prime b350-plus(refurbished)RAM: Patriot Viper DDR4 3000mhz 2X4 GBCPU Cooler: DeepCool Gammaxx 400Case: DeepCool Matrexx 55PS: EVGA 600W 80+The integrated graphics performed well beyond my expectations. MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE LATEST DRIVERS THO. Otherwise it won’t perform at optimal levels.I overclocked it to 3.85GHz which held steady after a stress test. The integrated graphics defaults to 1.1GHz, but I pushed it to 1.55GHz and it still ran smooth. Keep in mind I’m changing the voltage and other settings too while doing this so make sure to do your research.I ranfortnite just on integrated graphics and got a consistent 60FPS with max resolution and textures on high. I turned some of the other settings down that I didn’t care about and still came out with great looking graphics. No rubber banding or lag at all. I will say, I also bought a used gtx 750 that I’ll be installing today, so we’ll see what the comparison is.Things to know before you buy: the AMD Ryzen processors perform best with DDR4 3000mhz RAM, so you’ll have to keep your ram up to speed if you want this cpu to perform at the optimal levels. If your going to overclock this, you need an aftermarket cooler. Doesn’t have to be expensive, but the stock wraith stealth cooler that comes with the cpu won’t keep it cool if your trying to push this cpu past the default levels. Under stress tests and playing fortnite my CPU never pushed above 60 degrees, which is pretty cool for high stress programs and games. Overall a great buy, highly recommend it to the budget pc builders out there.

My intel i3 6100 desktop system died after several years of use. Probably my fault, because the MB, processor, and cooler were coated with dust, as I discovered after it failed. My bad due to lack of cleaning. Live and learn. So I replaced the processor with this 2200g and the motherboard with an inexpensive MSI A320 pro-M2 v2. On first boot, the OS I had installed on the previous system, still resident in my SSD, booted up with no problems. That was Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.2. I've since done a fresh install of 19.3 without any problems. Still using the single stick of 8GB DDR4 memory from the previous system.I don't do anything more demanding than email, browsing, and LibreOffice text and spreadsheet documents. No problems with the build or daily use. Very responsive. Everything works. And it is QUIET. Other than a bit of sound on booting, this thing makes absolutely no noise that I can hear.I did notice that every ten seconds or so, the idle cpu temperature oscillated between 27 and 37 degrees celcius. Based on internet advice, I got into the bios and disabled the "core performance boost" setting. After that the idle temperateure stays around 22 - 25 degrees, going higher only when I'm actually making the processor work. I can't see any performance difference with this change, although gamers might.Incidentally, the only fans in this mid-tower system are the stock cooler and the power-supply fan. When I put my hand over the exhaust on the back of the power supply, all I feel is a very faint, cool breeze. So yes, a hearty recommendation for office use. And you might want to blow the dust out of your case from time to time if you're not already. I'll be doing that.

This is an amazing processor for my budget Linux build, primarily for photo editing, video encoding, and file management. Four physical cores means it handles multithreaded tasks well. The cooler seems beefy enough to handle light overclocking, but I haven’t gone there yet.The only negative is Linux support for the built in graphics. I originally wanted to use Ubuntu Studio which comes with several photo management apps built in, however I had issues getting this to boot into the OS past post. Even booting into recovery mode and updating drivers and the Linux kernel didn’t help - graphical glitches and screen tearing made the experience untenable. After trying several distros, I landed on Linux Mint, and after updating the kernel and drivers, things worked fine.I won’t dock a star for this, since Linux support is always a dodgy situation, and most consumers will be using Windows. The good news is that once I got these issues worked out, this little powerhouse handled more than I thought it would - doing complicated processing in GIMP, or Darktable, processing batch EXIF refoldering, encoding videos in Handbrake were all processed without hiccups and without pegging the processor. I could have processes running in the background and browse websites or check email with little to no slowdown. I also installed Steam and Minecraft to check out the casual gaming performance and was pleasantly surprised that this would run Minecraft and TF2 at reasonable framerates. Considering every other IGP I’ve used before was utterly unsuitable for gaming, this was a nice little bonus.

Overall, it’s a great APU. But is it worth the time to update the MoBo BIOS and deal with manufacturers? That’s debatable. The chip can run CS:GO, Rocket League, Fortnite, and etc. easily. If your willing to OC you can possibly run GTA V w/o a dedicated GPU. Recommend this APU until dedicated GPU prices come down. The included fan completely blows intel’s hunk of aluminum out of the water. You can even OC the cpu 200 MHz w/o thermal throttling. But I don’t recommend also OCing the iGPU.Now let’s talk about the BIOS update struggle. First, AMD made me contact MSI to see if they could update the MoBo for me. Long story short they couldn’t. So AMD told me to send images to verify the warranty so they could send the boot kit.But theeeen, AMD customer support wasn’t able to contact me through any of my e-mails for a week. So I had to make a completely new e-mail just for AMD. Then follow-ups was another struggle. All-in-all it took me two weeks from first attempted contact to my MoBo being up to date. However, Customer support was very patient and I even got emails from them at midnight which was slightly interesting. Overall, if you’re not on a tight schedule I definitely recommend the chip. Especially since more MoBos will be already update in the future. (Hello future me, how are you?)

ok so im 16 years old no this is not a bot review, so some backstory i picked up a job and decided to finally start buying computer parts on a budget, I guess im a geek when it comes to computer so let me give u some reasonable input on this product, the CPU itself performs well for regular triple A titles such as rainbow six siege but it just lacks the power, i have a rx 570 and i bust less than 110 fps average on low competitive settings, if you plan on not buying a 144hz monitor then you'll be well off using v-sync and getting a consistent and smooth 60 frames. Now as of larger games, for example the new COD warzone, is just extremely not playable and its so terrible,i even have problems running basic games that the CPU should be able to handle such as fortnite. I recommend just buying the Ryzen 5 2600 because it has way more value, two extra cores and would you'd be able to run almost every game consistently with out constant tears and stutters (for people who want higher frames for 144hz) i know that its a little more expensive but i sincerely think that it would be the better investment. I hope this was helpful for people looking to build or upgrade their rigs. :)

Really powerful little chip for only around 100 bucks. It does enough for gaming, dont expect any miracles, but from my experience, I can play a lot of modern titles given a playable experience. The resolution might not always be at 1080p, and I might dip below 60fps, and I certainly dont have max settings on every game, but I can still have fun without feeling held back for the most part. You just need to understand how to use it, and a chip like this is great for beginners in overclocking and learning how to navigate a bios.Keep in mind that you can and should allocate at least 2gb of memory for the igpu, and that overclocking definitely gives you significant improvements in games.Stay away from A320 Motherboards,as most probably wont let you overclock or allocate any memory. Look for a B350/450 or X370/470 motherboard. B350 would be the cheapest option. Good luck and have fun with your new processor!

After having this for a few months now i can say woth confidence that it works as intended! I have it over clocked and water cooled and it runs cool and smoth. After the bios update witch amd helped with no questions asked, it was like any other new build.Iv put this in 2 system's and both work great. Iv played around in the bios and found my sweet spot. In the other rig i built for a friend on a budget i over clocked the cpu with the stock cooler and it runs at more then acceptable temps with no problums.Bottom line: even if you have a gpu but just want to upgrade to the new mobo and cant justify buying a cpu with the same clock speeds, overclocking potential and core count, but 2 more threads then get a ryzen 3 apu. It was cheaper when i bought it then the ryzen 3 cpu. Worth the money and if you only game 4 cores are all you need(for now)

Used this CPU with a new machine I've built to replace a failed music production box. Running latest Linux build just fine no issues and much faster performance than WinDoze. Running Win10 under a Virtual Machine for 2 programs that I still need that don't have a Linux replacement.I was able to run one of these apps under Wine on Linux with this CPU just fine. The older defective machine was not able to reliably run the same Windows app under Wine or in the VM.The performance is very good, especially for the cost of this CPU.If I needed a similar level of performance I would purchase this CPU again. But I expect my next one will be a Ryzen 5 for my main development machine that I'm building next.At this time I haven't used it long enough to have any Cons as it is working great for what I need on this machine.

I read up on this CPU prior to purchasing. Dollar for dollar, you cannot get a better deal! This CPU is amazing for the cost. Can run most current games w/o a video card. Makes for an awesome cheap build for the casual gamer or (in my case) the in-laws who don't game at all and just want a fast/functional PC that I built for them. Seriously, I recommend this for anyone looking to make a high quality but inexpensive PC. Using quality components and building from scratch using this CPU, I was able to price out a really nice PC for my father-in-law for $350 which included this CPU, a 500 Gb M.2 NVME drive, PSU, case, motherboard, 500W PSU, and 16GB of memory (did not include the cost of the Win 10 OS which is the MOST expensive piece).I have this CPU in my own PC as well as my son's PC and love it.

Great APU! Exceptional performance. PLEASE READ THIS I had an amazing amount of problems trying to get it working in a stable manner on a B350 MSI board. Countless crashes within Windows 10 without an overclock. PLEASE before installing Windows, get the absolute latest bios update from your motherboard manufacturer and update it. After installing windows, BEFORE anything else, go to your motherboard manufacturers website and install every latest driver you can find. Only after that, install the Radeon Graphics driver, and then install Ryzen Master. This was the only instillation order that got my system up and running, and overclocking appropriately. This is a brand new APU,and not all motherboards are going to have a new enough bios to correctly recognize it!

Just built: This APU with MSI Tomahawk B450 and Vengeance RGB Pro. With MSI Game Boost upped CPU from 3.5 to 3.75 (with one click in the BIOS).I built my system with an eye to upgrade (add GPU and maybe upgrade CPU).However, I am a light gamer and this system is running my non-graphics intensive games every bit as well as my old I7-2600 and Radeon 6700.Great price for this puppy.BTW, built with NZXT 500i and CAM is working perfectly with no problems whatsoever.UPDATE: NZXT H500i case runs quieter when overclocking 2200g with Ryzen Master software as opposed to MSI Game Boost. Also, with Ryzen Master easy to get CPU up to 3.8 (or higher). Game Boost stays safe with 3.75 max.And also, with Ryzen Master can get GPU up from 400 to 1300 or higher.

I used this in a build for my mother back in February when it was released. Once my MoBo was updated with the latest BIOS, I had zero issues with it running the computer. Not one problem with the install and build. Very very happy with this budget APU. You know who else is happy? MOM :D because she has a kick-but computer now. Running flawlessly for 3 months now. So happy to see this be released as it saved me over $150 on a graphics card purchase.Look I'm no gamer, but this can do everything you need it to do. If you want to play AAA games then get another processor. But if you're playing e-Sports titles this will do you very well for a cheap budget computer in 2018.Thank God that AMD is on their game with the Ryzen releases these past 2 years.
